What effect will the elimination of non-compete agreements have on your present job?

This is a highly impactful move in our IT industry and I believe, as times have changed, companies, have been acquired, new management and so called leadership, so in the past, companies initially empowered employees which resulted in the desire of empowerment, to stay put and see it through. WELL, this has changed dramatically, and now, companies have wished to secure keeping performers to retain and more importantly, refrain, potential employers, from what is deemed as "stealing" their assets, but yet, many companies do not treat assets as assets, but as indentured servants. The dichotomy has changed, the rules should change in favor of employees so they hold more leverage while working.

None, however I didn't have one either as a peon Epic analyst. Only when I wanted to change jobs did I find Epic can still treat you exactly like you DO have some sort of noncompete and actively make sure the new place knows they do not approve of the move, they do not want to do business with you at the new place, and tell that guy he needs to go back to his old job.
