Our Health System uses Oracle/Cerner for lab only; Oracle's level of support continues to dwindle which causes challenges for us operationally when we need the vendor to fix something. The Epic bashing comments by an Oracle exec is outlandish and cringe worthy. Looking forward to transitioning to Beaker and leaving Oracle for good.

The smart Cerner customers were looking for the exits from the moment this was announced. Oracle does not have the patience or understanding to solve the real challenges in healthcare, and healthcare customers have long memories when it comes to Oracle's questionable business practices.

The Cerner that once existed no longer does. It's like the ship of Theseus where suddenly every talented person left the organization as it was half-sunk by a decade of under-investment. But at least Naughton, Zane, Peterzalek, Julie, and Nill made an absolute fortune doing it.

Oracle is struggling to address the issues with Cerner. Their attempts to force existing customers to use other Oracle solutions is only alienating them. Customers are also wary of companies like Oracle that claim to know something about healthcare but really don' t. These are just some of the reasons that Epic is picking up their large customers.

You only need to look at the Oracle Cloud conference agenda to understand what they want to focus on in Health. And it doesn't seem to be Cerner or improving patient care. It is very sad where this organization has gone with the untimely departure of Neal.

Oracle bought Cerner with good intentions but it was broken in places they could not comprehend or fix easily. Ellison wanted a big win to capstone his life. He bought a bit of a jalopy apparently. It'll take a lot to fic it up to be a 100 point restoration. Meanwhile Epic is sucking up all the big systems...
