Toya Ramen is a hidden gem!

I absolutely love their Tom Yum ramen—it’s a perfect blend of tangy, spicy, and savory flavors that keep you coming back for more. The broth is rich and flavorful, and the hand pulled noodles are cooked to perfection.

On top of the amazing food, the service is outstanding! The staff is attentive, friendly, and always makes you feel welcome. Whether you’re a ramen enthusiast or trying it for the first time, Toya Ramen is the place to go. Highly recommend!!!

Toya Ramen stands on its own as my favorite ramen in Portland. I love how creative their menu is and how they offer so many unique dishes that aren’t found at other ramen shops like their carbonaramen. Their appetizers and cocktail menu are fantastic and are a tier above the competition. Definitely round out your meal with more appetizers than you are accustomed to ordering and you won’t be disappointed.

If you're a ramen enthusiast in Portland, OR, Toya Ramen is an absolute must-visit. From the moment you walk in, the cozy, modern ambiance sets the perfect tone for a memorable dining experience. The menu, though simple, is packed with flavor, showcasing a careful balance of traditional techniques and innovative twists.

The tonkotsu broth is rich and velvety, with a depth of flavor that only comes from hours of slow simmering. Every spoonful feels like a warm embrace. The noodles are perfectly chewy, with just the right amount of bite. But what really sets Toya apart are the toppings—whether it’s the perfectly soft-boiled egg, the melt-in-your-mouth chashu pork, or the fresh vegetables, everything is thoughtfully sourced and expertly prepared.

The staff are welcoming and attentive, always happy to offer recommendations or share details about the dishes. If you're in the mood for something beyond traditional ramen, the creative specials are a delightful surprise, offering seasonal ingredients and inventive combinations that elevate the experience.

Toya Ramen doesn’t just serve a bowl of noodles—they deliver an experience. Whether you're a local or a visitor, it's clear that this spot is a labor of love, and one that will keep you coming back for more. Highly recommended!

I dont like soups they are just not filling enough for me but.. Toya Roman is my exception!! The side dishes are delicious and I sometimes have to go back for the Roman because I get full on just the side dishes. I love the cucumber and peanuts with the spicy sauce. My favorite roman is the spicy tom-yum-men!!

  • Kristine - 1 year ago

    Best ramen in town!!

  • Angela - 1 year ago

I love the food! The garlic karaage (chicken), spicy Garlicky Cucumber salad. I don’t like tofu, but their OTA tofu I can’t get enough of, the flavor and crunch is amazing!!! Their house made grapefruit and orange soda are good too!!!! Highly recommended.

Toya is my favorite current restaurant in PDX. I can’t even begin to explain the magic that takes place here. House-made noodles, and decor and an ambiance that is unlike anything in Portland. Literally, it doesn’t get better than this. THIS IS THE SPOT FOR RAMEN. Ugh. It’s so good.

Baka Umai is not only absolutely delicious in every dish they serve, but they also have an amazing atmosphere with amazing employees that will go above and beyond for you in your dining experience! Hands down the best ramen!

  • Chad - 1 year ago

Baki Umai is the best ramen place in Portland. I have never had any sort of intense flavored food of any kind like theirs. I have been there about ten time and each time they have some crazy special whether it’s spicy or some sort of black broth rich and savory……look man I don’t have the vocabulary to properly describe the feelings and joy I get from this place! It’s fucking delicious!!!!

I love Mirakutei Sushi & Ramen they have the best and freshest small batch sushi in town. And when it comes to ramen they have it made in this category as well. Great choices, amazing flavors and being able to have Ramen as a comfort food coupled with some nice sashimi is a plus. I usually order their vegetarian ramen with 2 seasoned soft boiled eggs with Karage (fried chicken) as a protein, this takes the cake. Overall delicious and outstanding in both categories. A win win!
