The trend is clear the train has left the station - massive spend will move away from institutional settings to home and community, and it’s all medically and technologically feasible. The problem is variation and healthcare’s record with things like logistics, supply chain, coordination, etc. I have a hard time believing that the most inefficient, bloated, non-consumer industry in the world will be able to, all of the sudden, get the right drugs, and the right treatment, and the right clinician, with the right infection control to someone’s home ALL AT THE SAME TIME. It still amazes me that consumers look the other way and expect so little from the industry.
