Is Christmas your favorite holiday?

Actually Easter is my favorite in terms of being meaningful to me. Christmas is rough for a musician! In addition, the commercialism is at an all time high - and Santa sits on the throne.

Hi DML! I am your typical Grinch! I hate Christmas! Not because of what it represents, but because of how people turn into ugly monster. Having been a school bus driver for 18 years, I have seen how people forget what Christmas means. Kids want more more more. If they don't get it they get upset! Adults in their cars cut you off, flip you off, scream at you. All while I am trying to do my job. In the stores everyone is rushing around, not caring that someone outside is in need. Everyone just thinks about themselves. I was recently at the vet with my dog. An elderly woman just had to put her beloved dog to sleep. The office staff appeared to not care. It wayed heavy on my heart and my mind. I asked the woman if I could comfort her with a hug and she began to sob in my arms. It broke my heart. Giving of ones self is what this season means. Not all the gifts and decorations. We all need a come to Jesus moment!

Christmas is not what is used to be, too commercialized and too expensive. It is not about Jesus and family anymore. This generation is all about $$$$

I don't care for the commercial aspect of Christmas. I don't even like all the extravagant light shows and decorations. I keep it simple, less is more and it's a time to be quiet with thoughts and family. I love Easter the most for remembering Jesus and going to Easter sunrise Service at a lakefront here in central Florida. Most of the small churches in town participate and share the sermon and music. Very touching. I like Christmas Eve Service too. We should ask ourselves why we need so much to stimulate us. Why are businesses open 24/7, wouldn't that help the environment to shut down at 10Pm and on Sundays. Less energy usage.

Although Jesus came to save mankind he actually did that at Easter. He is Lord of all. The alpha and the omega

I LOVE CHRISTMAS. I only wish more people remember and would teach their children that it is about Christ birth. And not just Gifts and Santa Clause. Not just about getting gifts. And more about giving and caring. More of things of others and less about "me, me, me". More about being Thankful and less about throwing a fit because they didn't get what they want. I remember as a child, one year I received 3 pairs of gloves. I was taught to say Thank you, and appreciate what you received. ????????

Yes it is but also a time I hold my breath until on into January. It’s a time we decorate and our homes look pretty and we cook fabulous dishes and come together with family and celebrate yet I have lost people I loved around Christmas and it’s a reminder that life is short and we need to treasure the ones we love! It’s also tough because our family hasn’t the resources to buy gifts for everyone like many others can. Our children and grandchildren have slim gifts compared to lots of their friends. This was the first year one of my grandchildren couldn’t give teacher gifts. It was also his first year in middle school and has had awful experiences with most of his teachers. He watched as one of his teachers was sharing his high school yearbook with the class and pointed to his girlfriend at that time’s picture. Some students made a derogatory remark about her and his teacher was obviously hurt by their comment. His teacher said y’all are the worst class I believe I’ve ever had! My grandson said they should not have said such a thing! He felt really bad for his teacher and said if we had been able to do teachers gifts he would’ve been probably the only one that he would’ve felt deserved a gift. After elementary school I don’t think I gave teachers gifts myself. We just couldn’t afford it. Daddy barely could afford to provide for our family but we had love and respect and faith to keep us together and love of our family was most important as we celebrated the Birth of Jesus. I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and blessings for a wonderful New Year! Seek Him while He may be found! Jesus is the reason for the season!

I love what Christmas means. However Thanksgiving is my favorite. TDay is about gratefulness, family, food, abundance. All wonderful. AND includes the grateful part to our Lord, and each other.
