The Walgreens' in my area are so backed up, the experience was terrible. Closures of multiple busy locations in the city were clearly part of it. Luckily, my insurance switched and now covers the neighborhood, independent pharmacy. The pharmacists and techs at the local place are informed, helpful, and don't have that hunted look in their eyes.

Terrible experience with both Rite Aid and CVS in our neighborhood. They constantly mess up prescriptions and/or insurance coverage. We finally switched to Capsule which has excellent customer service.

My experience with Walgreens was so bad I finally gave up. Their pharmacists and pharm techs put up a valiant effort, to give credit where it's due, but the store frequently looked like it ran out of half their products because they could not, or would not, prevent theft. Funny how the pharmacy section of the big-box supermarket a block away doesn't seem to have the same problems.

I've always had good experiences with CVS (freestanding and in Targets), but we recently moved to a town without one. I should have listened to the multiple people who told me the Walgreens was lousy. Three months of never having my extremely common meds ready on schedule, and I switched to my health system's pharmacy - terrible hours, but they have my stuff, are very helpful, and go through MyChart.

I just sort of assumed that Walgreens and CVS were about the same, and maybe most of them are... but this has certainly put me off trying them in the future.
