This is such an interesting matchup! Do people prefer Goose bliss jams or more exploratory jams that end up somewhere incredible? Such a toss up, I have to listen again!
Interesting that they did the saints type jam so much this year and I like Portland wysteria more than this pancakes overall, but pancakes takes this matchup. This red bird is the easy loser here and should not even be in the bracket imo

I love this Bird more than most (that ending is such a heater) but RaleighCakes has one of the most beautiful bliss jams ever. So good that Rick mimicked it at least 3 other times (possibly more). Portland Wyst may be the better overall jam, but this one is truly a beauty and I come back to it a ton

This one was tough, listened back multiple times….and went with the Bird with the upset. I know the Cakes is gonna take this, but when Rick heads into the darkness right before the 20 minute mark with Peter bringing in the organ over the top? Oh my, that is my shit!
Two of the best versions performed of each song that year, but that pancakes is worth it just for that last half and every second is pure perfection, so therefore I will be going with pancakes
I love me some fat stacks with extra syrup, but this one isn’t it for me. I feel there are much better cakes to be had in 24 so I had to give it to this funky fun Bird. They take this bird in a way faster funky flight than the usual and I am here for it.
Saw both of these excellent jams live.
But Raleigh Cakes is pretty flawless. My most relistened to jam.

Easy vote for my #12 Pancakes. Its percussive clav opening and energetic guitar closing sandwich a delightfully playful Saints jam that resurfaces a week later in Maine.
I had 5 Birds in my 64; Atlanta wasn’t one. It’s good, as most Birds are. But this is bracket season, and good isn’t enough.
Was in attendance for both of these. Both were killer. I like CinciCakes a little but more than Raleighcakes, so for that reason I am going Bird.
