I think using tariffs and other external means to get income in the treasury is a great idea, but I also think that there should be a be a straight flat tax on all Americans. For small businesses and other corporate entities, it would be a tax after deductions. I think a flat tax of 10% across-the-board for everyone would be fair

Considering when the IRS started it was to be a temporary fix during the depression I believe. They have never gone away and are a contracted entity. To be able to keep what you earn would be amazing.

Not sure eliminating would solve the problem, maybe restructuring and having certified people in charge and running as a business instead of running as if it’s a personal account with deep pockets.

Imagine the savings created by doing away with that bloated monstrosity. Replace it with a VAT, Fair Tax, Flat Tax or some combination there of.
Which would require virtually no administration. The math especially with a VAT on all goods and services should be easy to calculate the percentage based on the government’s actual needs. Go DOGE.

I want a 3% National sales tax. That would get all the workers that get paid under the table and tourists. Food and fuel would be exempt.

That agency needs total restructuring. The ridiculous fines when people are struggling is nauseating. You’re treated as a criminal as your money is stolen from you in every payday. Why do this. Deductions on interest healthcare are non existent. One of the worst agencies of the government. There must be a better way.
