Love the show, beautiful outfits on the cast. First black soap opera, I hope it will last. After years of watching the Young and the restless and the bold and the beautiful it's time for a change

I haven't watched a soap opera daily since Passions. I haven't seen a full episode of any soap since at least 2005. I grew up with soaps all day, 5 days a week since the early 1980s as a kid. Around the new millennium 2000s I started finding fault and becoming extremely critical of all of them, recasts galore, fake deaths, outrageous and unbelievable plotlines, changing of history, horrible acting etc. I expected no better when I heard about Beyond the Gates but I thought why not give the first episode a chance. What's to lose? Now here I am a die hard fan of it. Excellent and beautiful cast and sets. These are no greenies, these people know how to act and captivate the audience. It's like Tamara Tunie, who masterfully plays the great Anita Dupree said in an interview there's something in Beyond the Gates for everyone. I'm not even black but I might be their biggest fan. I signed up for Paramount just to stream it! I could see BTG becoming the number one soap opera before long.

I watched about a minute or two of this yesterday and it seemed too unrealistic, so I changed the channel. I honestly don't see this show lasting.

Tuned in yesterday for the first episode and was impressed! The acting is excellent and the plots intriguing. I plan to be a regular viewer and look forward to today's episode.
