I’m gobsmacked that Get Out seems to be the clear favourite here. While it was definitely one of the best movies of 2017, Yi Yi may be one of the best movies of all time. Jordan Peele must have subjected the Filmspotting family to a similar form of mind control that was used in his debut.

Yi Yi is one of my favorite discoveries that is a direct result of being a Filmspotting listener, I never would have known this film existed without this show. I want to vote for it so badly, it is beautiful, but . . . it might belong in another era more and Jordan Peele's horror film about not quite escaping the worst parts of our past is just more urgent and pertinent. It pains me (it wouldn't be madness if it didn't) but I'm going with Get Out
