My favorite Coppola vs my favorite Anderson- an agonizing choice.
I went Anderson here, but I don't necessarily feel good about it.

For me these are the best films of their respective careers.
I chose Tenenbaums for Gene Hackman

OUCH! How dare you force me to choose between these two gems that defined my college years. I went to a sorority party dressed as Margot Tenenbaum, and Tenenbaums remains my favorite Wes Anderson film and shined in the era when Wes Anderson films still had heart! Watching Lost in Translation late-night with cinephile friends and pondering the meaning of life will always remain a nostalgic memory. And the soundtrack was EVERYTHING! Gene Hackman's Royal Tenenbaum racing big wheels with his red-tracksuit-clad grandsons set to Paul Simon FOR THE WIN!

I have to say I never understand the love for The Royal Tennenbaums. The heart of is is a creepy love story between siblings.

Royal Tennenbaum, looking at the results of this matchup: "Hell of a damn grave. Wish it were mine."

It turns out Bill Murray was whispering "We're going down in the second" into Scarlett's ear.
