Looking at Best of the Century (so Far) with an emphasis on BEST, I lean slightly towards Memento.
Emphasizing OF THE CENTURY, I lean hard to Social Network.

I'm bitter. First Cow is superior to The Social Network and should be here now. So I'm in for Memento, which thankfully also better than The Social Network.
THE SOCIAL NETWORK is easily one of my favorite films of all time. I love MEMENTO as much as everyone else here but nothing feels so in-sync and prescient as Fincher's masterpiece. Plus the score.
This is a debate between film quality and story relevance. The former favors Memento in my mind, the latter favors Social Network. The bias of the current state of affairs has nudged me toward Fincher over Nolan.
Fincher's unblinking examination of the venality and hubris that went into the creation of facebook and all of what that may entail for our experience of the product that results just gets more trenchant by the hour. And the soundtrack is better.
It would be great if Nolan were to go 0-3, but if he gets one through I strongly suspect it'll be this one.
So, we've clearly gotta start planting stories about him and chickens now.
So far these first two contests have been easy!!! There Will Be Blood (check), and of course this one is Memento!
