This is the heart versus head choice for me.
Do I follow my heart and vote for the cool, cerebral Ex Machina, which I love?
Do I follow me head and vote for the empathic, florid Moonlight, which i place #3 in this field?
Sorry heart, head is technically in charge of decision making.
I was gratified that Ex Machina made the dance over Her, I don't think Her was especially good at anticipating the actual technology of AI or the ways in which it would be scary as well as Ex Machina, but purely as cinema, as a meditation on human connection, on the many phases of our lives, Moonlight is in a different league for me, an easy choice.
I dropped the ball choosing Her over Ex Machina in my bracket, but I suspect this may take care of the problem going forward.

I'm with MOONLIGHT until the end but having it up against the Filmspotting darling EX MACHINA makes me very nervous.
I'm not sure I made the "correct" choice, but sci-fi bias gonna sci-fi bias.
