I agree with Len Elmore and Tom McMillan that we need a Maryland grad. Stevie Blake should be in the mix and has expressed his interest. He was a great Maryland player with a distinguished NBA career. There probably are a number of Maryland grads with excellent credentials---let's look at home!!!

I'm not going to pretend to be an Athletic Director (which MD currently lacks) or anyone else with the credentials to decide who might be a good hire for the Terps vacant coaching job. But I do feel that it should not be difficult to upgrade the position, as Willard was a decidedly ordinary coach. He was outcoached on multiple occasions this season, particularly late in games, and his team lacked intensity and emotion (as does he). If only there was another Morgan Wootten available,,,,

Willard displayed who he is a selfish low character person. He wasnt whining when weaseled his way out of Seton Hall to the Terps with all their deficiencies

Shinn not only knows the BigTen having been an assistant at George Mason but Maryland as well. He has been successful at George Mason he is my choice. He knows not only the DMV but the portal as well

Sarunas Jasikevicius. He's a MD alum and possibly the top coach in EuroLeague. He's a former pro who played in the NBA that could sell recruits/transfers on knowing what it takes to get to the next level. He's passionate, a little bit crazy, and fans would love him. Most importantly, in this new NIL era some school is always going to have more NIL $ and some school will likely have a better coach. For schools like MD, the best strategy is to differentiate yourself, build a brand, and build a pipeline. Jasikevicius is Lithuanian; if you took the top Lithuanian players in the NCAA this season and had them on one team, they're easily a top 25 team. So if you can get most of the top Lithuanian talent, some additional Euro taleant, and a couple solid players out of the portal each year, you've got a championship level team year in and year out.

Chris Beard would be an incredible hire. He won at Texas tech and is doing the same at Ole Miss at football schools. With the new practice facility and the financial commitment from the administration Maryland should be one of the top 10 jobs in the country.

I like the Steve Blake possibility. Still think they should be considering Bryce Drew, mid-west background - Mr. Indiana’94, NBA experience, proven ability to use transfer portal to tournament competitive teams, and a coaches son.

I had Vandy coach Byington said he won’t leave? He’s been top 5 on most lists.

Chris Collins, Northwestern coach, knows he can’t win a Natty from there. Could be looking to move and UM is looking for a proven high profile coach and they have the money to make him a Top10 paid coach in a major conference.
