Everyone knows that The Royal Tenenbaums is a better movie than There Will Be Blood. What my vote presupposes is... maybe it isn’t?"
Royal is overrated.
I suppose it is futile, but for all that I admire the incredible cinematography, storytelling, truth to power, and acting performances of There Will Be Blood, it never got me as hard as The Royal Tenenbaums did and in the year that Gene Hackman passed away, it would be particularly grim to vote for Daniel Plainfield over Royal, at least for me.
Easy choice. There Will Be Blood is the most overrated movie in the bracket. It provides nothing that cannot be readily gleaned by opening one’s eyes in this 21st century hellscape.
