Tough matchup!

Maybe it's just me, but this madness edition has featured more completely baffling and incongruous matchups than ever before, where the movies are so different that I don't even have a grasp on how to frame the comparison and this matchup is a great example of that problem - a moody, languid, gorgeous meditation on love, desire, and time versus an urgently biting satire of the personal and societal consequences of racism?! Purely on the incinerator test, I would just want to spend more time with Wong Kar Wai's lovers and Christopher Doyle's cinematography.
