Same old story in congress. Bundle too many things in one vote.
Separate them so 'something' gets accomplished.

No I do not support it. And that was not a good stunt Rep. Luna pulled when we have other, more pressing issues at hand. Mainly, the rogue judges trying to derail President Trump's agenda. She could have brought this up at another time. Especially since they shut down for the rest of the week!!!! And I guarantee you that the Dems would abuse this proxy voting in the future, IF they ever get in power again. If I was a resident of Florida, I would make sure that she was primaried in the next election.

If a rep is a new mother, unless there were major complications, she should be able to report in person for a vote. Most women today are up and around in less than a few days.

I would support it except just like everything else the Dems would take advantage of it. So hell no.

Congress already gets a lot of time off, seems like they are off more than any other job! If regular working people got off as much as congress does, nothing would ever get done!
They say we need young blood in these positions but what I see the younger the lazier they are!

Hell No! Congress already gets too many perks as it is now. Voting should be in person by Congress or don’t run for office! Talk about irony… I thought Congress Republicans wanted to do away with mail in votes from the American people. I certainly don’t think they should get to proxy vote from home!! They get voted in to go to work and do their job and vote in person!!

Anyone who wants to serve in congress knows what they are getting into. Show up for your job or don’t run for the office and stay home to be a mom. You can’t have it both ways. As an American taxpayer I’m sick and tired of these government officials not doing their job and only thinking about themselves.

    Do your DAMN JOB congress!!!!

The problem with this is this will snow ball and no one will be in congress to vote. Our NYS Governor will no allow town government officials to vote if not attending in person.

this is another poll that requires a HELL NO!

  • Mebeta - 9 months ago

I had to pick no because you didn’t list HELL NO.

Unfortunately she put her agenda ahead of the American people who voted for her. Very selfish on her part. I hope the people of her district remember this when she is up for reelection.

    In very special cases yes

Proxy voting just opens the door proxy voting for other reasons. Disability, age, travel plans. It is just another liberal attempt to try to make everything perfect for everyone no matter their circumstances. If you want be in Congress, then you have to be able to attend congressional debates and vote in person. If you’re not able to do that, you should not be in Congress. Next thing they will want is to be able to participate in debates through zoom calls so they can stay home in their pajamas. Congress is already a mess. We don’t need to make it worse.

First, I would be very supportive of parents being able to be able to spend time with a newborn for a short period of time IF the MAJORITY OF HOUSE REPS believed it was acceptable BUT they do not! There are positions with responsibilities NOT allowing remote options. PLUS this is something that MANY will use and abuse.
Second, after the obnoxious way she has dealt with it and her lack of concern for AMERICA'S BEST INTERESTS vs pushing her own agenda...I not only don't support her bill, I think she should be PRIMARIED in the next election!
