He went there with ill intent. The way he went off leads me to believe he was looking for the first person to flip his switch. Nobody was going to stop him.

I am so torn about this. Here is a 17 year old who carries a knife to a track meet. Why? We will never know. Should he be killed because of this horrible mistake? At 17 his brain is not fully formed. It is an unfortunate fact. Life imprisonment is enough of a punishment for someone who was 17 years old and could be in prison for the next 60 years. God help his soul.

I am completely disgusted with the entire court system in the U.S. It seems like almost all of the courts have gone sissy liberal full WOKE. A person who committed murder, one that everyone saw and knows for a fact that he did the murder (only thing waiting is the trial & sentence), should not be out on reduced bail. He is a danger to the community and the idea of house arrest with an ankle monitor is total B.S. Other, lesser criminals have proven that ankle monitors are a joke, the only thing that works is locked up in jail and even that seems to be lacking in security these days with serious criminal being released by accident!

I am very upset that the courts had so little care about the young man that lost his life that they reduced the killers bond! Who in the world gave all of this money to the killer? I have read that his family is buying a new house with that money!
He should be tried as an adult, such a cold hearted killer definitely needs the death penalty!

This question is irrelevant due to his age. However, he was carrying a,knife. Having the knife in his possession shows intent to use it. Otherwise, why would he have at a school event? He can claim self defense but his life was not endanger so the use of deadly force was not appropriate to the situation!

Well, when he went to the meet, did he go with intent and a plan on how to kill the young, or was he just stupid, had a knife on him and acted in anger.
If he is found guilty of murder in the 1st degree, and the option is life in prison with no chance of parole or the death penalty, give him the death penalty as they are pretty much the same thing, but one will be funded by the taxpayers for possibly 70 years or more.

Yes, he was 17…a minor in the eyes of the law. However, try him as an adult and when found guilty, Life in prison with no parole.

The crime is horrific and he needs to be made accountable
“Who brings a knife to a sports event?” It only spells trouble or in this case “death”!

Very young for the death penalty but should go to prison!

A serious mistake made in anger and the ignorance of youth? Many killers have found God in prison and became great evangelizers. Let’s get the facts without slanted views before we condemn one to death.
