I'm hoping for a Bobby shower scene to come, like in Dallas years ago. Bobby was the 911. Athena deserved better, too! Throwing the hurting mama in; thinking her dead son alive, was garbage during this sensitive time. Yes, Athena throwing herself into her work was a distraction, but too much of a distraction for a death episode. Fail, below average, hot mess! Seemed Angela had a difficult time making this travesty believable., even for a master artist as she is.
After waiting for the funeral episode I was let down. No goodbye scene with Buck, Eddie seemed to be an afterthought. To have watched 8 seasons and see how important Bobby was to the 118 and for there to be four or five minutes at the end. Such a letdown to the fans. I can honestly say I think I'm done with this show. They don't care about the loyal fans that have been there from the start of the show.
I did NOT agree with the decision to kill off the character. I have been quite upset for 2 weeks....then tonight's funeral episode...well.... It was a very hard episode to watch. It really did NOT help me thru the loss at all. But I DID like where she thought to have him buried. That I thought was a good part to story. I'm still not sure if I will watch next season. I will tolerate the next 2 episodes to see if I will return for season 9.
I believe it was too early in the season to kill Bobby off. After all that he and Athena had been through with the fire, rebuilding their home, etc viewers should have been able to see them enjoy some of their life/marriage together. Even if Bobby would have been sick and viewers been given a chance to see him do what Bobby does best; attempt to make it better and then die, but this was rough.
I had a thought whilst watching ( but I am still eternally mad at you Tim Minnear) , I can see “ GhostBibby” as a reoccurring character Maybe other characters are visited by him BU - they do not mention or talk about it with the other characters. Except maybe to the priest who befriends Bobby- but he can never talk about it because it’s at confessional.
