Where is the no tax on social security that was one of President Trumps campaign promises. Social Security is taxed before it ‘s taken out of our paychecks under FICA. Then, when we collect it as seniors, we pay taxes on it again. That’s double taxation! This important “no tax on social security” needs to be included in this bill without any income limits. Everyone who receives social security by paying into the system should not be taxed again. I’m very disappointed in the President not fulfilling his promise. Our seniors need this money so, they won’t have to work after retirement, which is happening now. l

I said no
The only a foolish person would answer yes.
I have witnessed for over 60+ years Good bills come forward As Trump wrote it . I agree with most of it. But wake up people By the time they get through adding and deleting. Well it’s already got another $1 trillion added .
Guess who pays that . When Republicans kiss ass we are screwed. How do you think USAID gave trillions to other ridiculous things and countries.
One thing that is well known. Americans will maybe have 2 items . And every illegal and black will surly be happy

I believe that the "no taxes on Social Security", along with some other points will be added on after the midterm election, when hopefully there will be more MAGA Republicans in Congress. Right now there are too many RINO's and they are working hard to stop President Trump.
With all due respects to the intentions of today's question, it's premature. At this moment, I doubt that a single person in Congress knows the final structure, much less content of the bill just passed by the House. I suggest that the question should be asked again after the Senate has had it's say and that a consensus is reached. Obviously,
interim "shotgun" commentary by constituents shall and should be taken into consideration, but the bottom lines of the ultimately to-be-passed bill are still in the making... best we make final judgements after passage of the bill....

From what I have read, Social Security cannot be touched without the approval of Congress. Congress needs to get to work on making the changes on not taxing Social Security in an amendment bill.
The $4,000 amount would be given at the end of the year while filing taxes for now with people making up to $75,000 for individual & $150,000 for couples.
Enforcement of taking away abuse, waste & fraud in all agencies will help all Americans.
Securing our boarders Southern & Northern is extremely important.
Adding more money for defense of our country is important also. I might be bias because I have a son, step-son, & nephew currently serving in 3 different branches of the USA Military! All of them have been or are deployed currently. Keeping their equipment up to current or future standards is very important! I want them to have the most up to date & advanced equipment possible!
People need to learn to have some patience! The past administration undermined so much in America that it will take “Time” to fix the mess President Trumps administration is tackling to fix. Never have I seen in my lifetime such a hard working administration! I was born in early 1960’s so I have seen & gone through, lived through many Presidents! Carter was the weakest until Biden came along! Obama & Biden have to be the WORST Presidents to undermine America in my lifetime!
My opinion!

Am disappointed that baseline bud g eating is still deeply entrenched in the appropriations pro5cess. And no public explanation of who will be taken off or disqualified for medicaid and Medicare.for starters

While it’s disappointing that “no tax on social security “ isn’t in the bill, it seems that the extra exemptions for seniors should make up for that. Am I missing something?

Very very disappointed that this bill did not pass the no tax on SS. How much longer is the government going to screw our seniors over. Shame on them

I voted for no tax on SS! I knew this would happen. He got the seniors attention got their vote only to let them down. This is the generation who worked/s over 40 hours a week to get ahead to get that savings account this was drummed into our heads since we were young. Well 85% of our SS is taxed. We can’t afford to live on SS and retirement savings. At 68 we have two adopted children at home. We have a second house that houses 7 family member who are on SS and SSI who can not afford to pay rent any where else. It’s a blessing that we can support them all by giving them a house to live in and cover all utilities. But we will never be able to retire. I was really hopeful about the no tax on SS only to find out it was a total lie. This administration have failed our seniors in the worst way and it will not be forgotten :-((((((

VERY disappointed about not having NO TAX on Social Security for ALL seniors with NO cap on income, and in effect forever with no expiration.
I know compromises have to be made - and passing this bill is imperative to get other relief, and get the economy going, but this was one of the main promises!

I’m glad it passed but very disappointed that senior citizens are getting screwed again. The government has taken funds from social security over the years and they shouldn’t be allowed to touch it since we’ve been paying into it all our lives! No wonder it’s running out of money because they think it’s their money not the people’s money! I’d like to hear from the four Republicans why they didn’t vote for it. What the hell is Massie’s problem? Why is he always the one that votes against Trump?? Just curious!!

There should be no tax on Social Security! Senior citizens pay enough in taxes on every day items anyway so why tax the little most get from SS.

It’s a start, but Social Security should not have been excluded.

Social security should not be taxed and pinning cola to inflation, doesn’t help because it’s too small an amount to help. And yes Medicare takes it all anyway.

Where is all the funds that DOGE has found. We heard about all these funds they found, but where is the benefit for them. Seems like those funds could be allocated and keep the US debt figure down. Very disappointed that the income exemption are temporary and totally disgusted that income from Social Security for Seniors was not totally exempt from tax, since we get a piddle COLA that is normally ate up with the increase of Medicare each year. Also if THAT would have been included (as a permanent exemption) it would eventually affect everyone who works. Very disappointed.
