I voted no!!!! No exceptions! I voted for ALL illegal aliens to be deported when I voted for President Trump. If he wants to talk to those in the farming and hotel industry that think they need illegals, then those same illegals should still be deported and a way could be made to bring them back the correct way to enter our country. In the meantime, American workers could fill the void. We may not even to bring back foreigners if our citizens work out. BUT NO EXCEPTIONS until all of the illegal aliens are deported!!!

A few industries like farm workers, hotel staff, restaurants rely on these people. We need to stop that reliance. They are taking jobs from our teenagers who used to pick berries for Smuckers, clean hotel rooms, serving and kitchen duties. My generation mowed lawns. Washed dishes, waited tables, babysitting. All in an effort to pay for their own schooling or expenses. We have no work ethic in the current generation, and we are robbing them of those opportunities to work and learn.
Allow them a 1 or 2 year waiver to transition to legal workers.

Absolutely not! First the broke the law by entering illegally! 2. If they have been working for years, they are using stolen documents ( another crime)3. These are still jobs Americans can & will do for decent wages! (These are usually first jobs for our kids!) those industries have used slave labor long enough. 4. If they have been working for years, why haven’t they started the process. 5. Just because they have no criminal records may be they haven’t been caught yet! (Like hit & runs & drunk driving)! 6. This gives them jobs they can hide in! 7. Trump made a promise to his voters to get them all out if we voted him in! Do not break that promise! 8. Once they are all out change the immigration process where these attorneys are not able to drag their feet for years, screwing the ones who are trying to do it the right way! 9. Make E-verify mandatory! It is still being abused with stolen identities and Americans are suffering! 10. Pass a law that ALL elected must be a citizen by birth!!! If you can affect our laws in anyway this has to change! Senate, Legislative, including City government!
President Trump please remember all the AMERICANS who have been killed by ILLEGALS, permanently Separated forever from their families!
Many who are hiding in those jobs, in our Country!

The question is a little mixed. Yes President Trump ran on closing the border and getting illegals out ASAP, however he also promised to get out “the bad hombres first”!! Anyone who crosses illegally of course are criminals and they need to be removed!! I do realize now with that statement the President made, some really bad hombres might try to hide out in the fruit fields but they want to commit crimes and hiding there doesn’t make since. It’s one of those hard things President Trump has to make. Trust that God’s Will really is the One with all the glorious power!! God will get it done!!

No I Do NOT Support It!!! No matter how well they have worked for their employers for years...it is ILLEGAL for farmers & hotels to hire them!! These illegal workers had plenty of time over those years to apply for LEGAL CITIZENSHIP!! That's DOUBLE STANDARDS if Pres. Trump allows that!!

  • Kathy - 6 months ago

With the knowledge that these industries will not be targeted, terrorists can hide among them. Will they be vetted extensively is a huge question.

  • Carla Hunt - 6 months ago

I will only support it if the exempt illegals fill out the proper paperwork for a work visa, etc. We need to know who and where they are. If they are working then they can not get any benefits such as snap or medicaid. They are here to help our economy not take from it.

First deport those that pose a threat to the US,that will take a lot of time then after that review those who enter illegally but has been working here for more than ten years and let them apply for the green card or permits to work legally. If they haven’t commit any crime and qualify for residency let them go through the process as anyone else.

NO CHINESE! thats a big deal! They are infiltrating our country. This is the one thing I’m really disappointed about. I honestly think you should rethink this! It’s BIG!

I said yes because I think he should focus on the criminal first and he hasn't been doing that even though he said that's what he was going to do. Once he gets all the criminals out which probably take his whole term anyways thank you focus on others or maybe coming up with better solution or like he verified or maybe fixing our lives giving people work visas something can be done better. We need a deterrent.

L o n g time migrants non criminal in such jobs for years and never having posed a threat should be left alone. . They should be seeking citizenship and NOT flying any but the American flag also speaking English!

  • Laurie S Whitney - 6 months ago

Illegal is illegal. I agree those with extensive criminal histories should be deported first....but every illegal alien has a criminal hx in that they broke our laws when they entered the country; therefore all should be subject to deportation. We cannot say a farm worker or hotel maid is more valuable than a construction worker or a roofer, yet only some made the preferred list!
I ordinarily support Pres Trump's decisions but I don't think this one will work.

    I agree withe several qualifiers:

    1. NO infractions of any sort in home country or USA.

    2. Their employer must have used e-verify and have paid them a regular paycheck deducting SS & MC. (I realize this means the alien used either stolen or false ID.)

    3. They cannot use any social services.

    4. They must apply for citizenship (or work visa) and will be at the end of the line.

We have 21,000 ice agents and 13 million illegals. It will take years to get them all out. Get the ones that pose the most danger to the US and citizens first.

The more time they spend in non violant illegals the more time human traffickers, drug traffickers, rapist and murders have to wreak havoc on society.

We can’t keep feeling sorry for illegals. They have a choice to come in the right way and there would be no problems. A lot of them say they come here for a better life, then why are so many trying to make our country like the one they left? Illegals should be deported and we can help the ones who come the right way.

  • Kathy - 6 months ago

No, I am not ok with it! ILLEGAL IS ILLEGAL! Deport them all and let them come in legally with proper vetting! Promise made, promise broken. We have Americans that can and will do those jobs.

  • Mia - 6 months ago

Absolutely NOT. Illegal is illegal and that is a slap in the face to those of us who came through using legal channels. Allowing some to stay because they happen to work in the "right" category that benefits industries that have millions to spend on lobbyists is BS. Plus, it paints a bad picture for Trump since his businesses benefit from this change. Ask yourselves, who owns businesses in these categories? Follow the money.

Thank you President Trump for being open minded and honest about what our country needs.
We are still deporting millions of illegals. Some of them are good hardworking people.

  • Peggy Hunt - 6 months ago

Trump has always said that as he moves along with his process he may have to altar the plans.
He has found out now that the country may need working people in farming, hospitality, such as restaurants and hotels. This is one of the issues that California was upset about. Yes, they are wealthy people who need help in their homes. I understand the need for a change in the process. Trump is smart enough to see this and admit it.

  • Kathy - 6 months ago

Absolutely NO! I agree he made campaign promises, he was elected to put those promises into actions, don't make promises you're not going keep. He's messing with stuff so he can show off his "legacy". Truly all it will show is how closely he leans with the dems in his sincerity to the people. The last thing America needs is more CHINESE SPIES!!!

  • Gaynell - 6 months ago

If you crossed illegally, you’re a criminal. Should be deported. Come in the legal way.

  • Briarrose - 6 months ago

A promise was made to deport all illegals. Don’t go back on your word. All means all. Just because hotels won’t have maids, farms won’t have slave labor doesn’t mean illegals should stay.
If the president says they should stay then no more free anything. Let them live off what they earn like the rest of us.

I trust President Trump to make necessary decisions that are best for America and particularly for our farmers.
