I believe one of the initial concerns of the Oracle acquisition came to fruition. Oracle's primary focus has been to convert Cerner's product and service infrastructure to Oracle offerings. This has strangled product development and advancement for the last few years (on top of the lack of development during the last part of the Cerner years). Now, the Oracle Health path forward requires customers to conduct costly optimization, migrations, and new implementations to remain a customer. This removes former barriers to transition to Epic. With on-going service issues created by reductions in former Cerner-knowledgeable staff and painful moves to Oracle support groups, customers are finding it harder to justify staying with Oracle Health.
