How has the economic crisis affected your concerns about the environment?

I think is time to stop trying to relate the economic crisis to the environment, collective paranoia, fears, all of them nothing but a way to attract attention and fill empty spaces in magazines, newspapers. Whoever came up with this poll must not have a clear idea that economic crisis are temporary and so are times of boom. The environment is forever changing usually for the worse. I dont see the relation between the economy and my concerns about the environment, is like asking whether the current economy has change my stool samples. Ii remember a year ago in one of your editions how hard and difficult life will be when oil reaches $160 a barrel in the next 18 month. Now oil is at $60 but life has changed in a diffent way, but gas prices still almost the same. Thats why I cancelled my subscription to this tabloid journalism.

People, we are experiencing Global change. There is a difference between Climate changeand Global warming. Sorry you don't believe ithat but some very smart and brilliant scientists are telling us that and I tend to believe them insteadof all you deniers.

If, at some point in time, we find that CO2 emissions are a problem after all, is it really true that the only way to curb those emissions will be for all of us to return to an essentially stone age existence?

I voted with the 55% but, actually, it has changed some things this environment industry. We have to buy our bags from the grocery store - they no longer supply plastic. Good for them. They have saved themselves a heck of a pile of money right there - green for them, not so for me because now I have to go and buy boxes of garbage bags. Everything with the label 'green' on it costs just a little bit more. Where environment has hit me is right in the old pocket book. What is new.

as an engaged environmental activist since 1969, I am very concerned with the current state of alarmist affairs. Actually, let me correct that - recent state of affairs. The tide is turning! The politically correct and utterly hypocritical attitude of "Save Planet Earth - lets attune for our sins" is being replaced by sober climate realism. Climate always changes and mother earth always looks after herself. We have to learn to live in harmony, since we're part of natural systems.

And, considering obvious facts, especially doubling population since 1969, we actually have been doing very well! If you don't believe me, please check the statements made on Earth Day 1970 by fanatics like Paul Ehrlich and President Obama's science advisor John Holdren. Sobering.

In short, robbins111 and Mars express important and relevant sentiments much better than Gore and Suzuki disciples - it's time to expose the "Carbon Vilification Complex" for what it is - an anti-life Orwellian travesty!

Those believing the earth is warming, did not pay attention in class when the ice age was taught. If they had, they'd make up their own mind and not be following the chicken littles who get a great deal of money from their followers and by doing so, need to continue their agenda, or they are broke. This whole scenario is truly getting out of bounds, as far as I am concerned. Then there is the issue of waste and extravagance, in which my generation did not participate and still don't.

Robbins--says it all! those of us who have always practised enviroment saftey-- are now suppose to suffer? Always turned out lights-- turned furnace down when not home--or out--used both sides of sheets of paper---composte---used own bags at store---tore old clothes apart to make new ones for the kids---repaired socks---& shoes---never threw garbage on the streets--in fact picked it up to discard properly-- still do all these things-etc. etc. Now it's up to this generation to smarten up-do their part--why should we suffer!!!But will not give up my comfort of things-- now--have paid the piper--besides --it's the ice age coming -not global warming-so take heart-& watch!

I haven't changed my opinion that the Goricles and the AGW craze is the biggest scam since the pet rock.

Regardless of the overwhelming evidence showing the global warming craze to be wrong, some people will still rant on about it.

We have made amazing changes in my lifetime, in other areas of environmental sensitivity and have many success story's.

I believe that once identified, most Canadians support efforts to clean up, or pro-actively, ensure that we don't damage the earth.

Having said this, there appears to be a small group that feels it important to punish humanity for the environmental failure of few, and it usually means we should change our life style in a manner which 'they' choose.

If the enviromental issues could ever be separated from 'social engineering' efforts, we probably would have a better earth.

THIS IS TOO GENERAL A QUESTION. PEOPLE MAY VERY WELL BE LESS CONCERNED ABOUT SOME FAR OFF, REMOTE THREAT LIKE GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGE IN 50 YEARS (WHICH WE CANNOT STOP ANYWAYS) BUT STILL CONCERNED ABOUT SHORT TERM PROBLEMS WE CAN CONTROL, LIKE OCEAN POLLUTION, TOXIC WASTE DUMPS, OVER HUNTING, ETC.
