Luna’s is hands-down the best ice cream in Portland metro and it just so happens to be the closest to my home. Their flavors are unique and inclusive, having celiac disease, I really appreciate that they offer gluten-free varieties.

There are such great places on this list, and I love so many of them, but I have to give Luna’s a personal shoutout. Everyone knows about Salt and Straw and Cloud City has been so good for so long, but Luna’s is the wonderful and quality Cinderella story in this bracket, and it has so much love from the comments to prove it.
Also, if you love chocolate and cookie dough like I do and you have never tried the brookie batter “I call it brookie dough for the impossible to replicate combo of brownies and their real cookie dough,” you HAVE to try it and try both the regular and in a milkshake.
After years of seeing in black and white, when you eat it, you will see in color again.
Brightness will return to your world.
And with it, a joy and happiness that you haven’t experienced since you were a child (or if you are a child…it’s just really good try it).

Luna’s flavors are boring. So close by but nothing has ever been appealing. I think it’s great if you have kids or a lot of dietary specialty needs, but when it comes to flavor and quality, CloudCity: hands-down. I do the drive though I could easily walk to Luna’s.
