Common sense is missing here. Those who want to do harm to others will do so no matter what the law says, and will use whatever weapon they choose. The Second Amendment says we have the right to own firearms. The majority of people in this country are law abiding. To ban something for the few 'bad guys' doesn't make sense.

What part of they shall not be infringed upon do people do not understand. There are no ifs and buts in the constitution. It is our right US citizens to own a firearm to protect us from the enemy both from abroad and and from within. Unless there is a change to the constitution of the United States the answer is still NO! And always will be. The liberal idiots who think guns kill people need to be educated. People kill people. We are not banning cars from the roads and they kill more people than the act of owning a gun. Common Sense, we have a people problem not a gun problem. If banning guns worked than Chicago itself would be the safest city in the country and yet not so much as fact it is one of the most violent cities in the Union with the strictest gun laws in the country.

NO NO NO.So many people are frightened by the AR, thinking it stands for automatic rifle. It stands for ARMALITE RIFLE. And it is no more dangerous than any other rifle. Paige (in the comments) said it well - that an AR15 functions no differently that any other rifle. it’s the look of the gun that makes people think they’re more dangerous. They are lightweight and much easier for a woman to handle.
To those who voted "yes" because they think automatic rifles shouldn't be legal, AR DOES NOT stand for automatic rifle. It stands for Armor Lite, the company that created it.

I own an AR-15 and other guns. I'm a LIFE member of the NRA, a Vietnam Era Veteran, and I support the Second Amendment completely!!! Some people want to ban the AR-15 because it looks scary, but ALL guns sold to the public can only shoot on SEMI-AUTOMATIC. In simpler words, you have to pull the trigger every time you want to shoot a round, just like ALL handguns.
We have auto accidents EVERY DAY, but I don't see anyone banning cars.

It’s not the gun that kills. It’s the person behind the gun. If AR15’s are banned, then criminals will have an upper hand. Criminals can get guns anywhere. Innocent people need to be able to defend themselves.

Those saying AR’s should be banned but other firearms are ok have no knowledge of firearms. AR’s function no differently than any other hunting rifle. It’s the look of these guns that make people think this way. Many women own AR’s because they are light weight and easy to maneuver.

Its my God giving right. So I guess I can say I don't see the need for you to be aloud to talk, vote or any of the other Amendments. We became a free nation because we had fire arms. Don't say they didn't have AR15 then. That's just a lazy can't think of anything else excuse. They had the SAME fire power as the British king. Its the same now. Except because of ignorance the government has much better weapons.

We have the 2nd Amendment for a reason. We cannot and must not give up any guns (they have the 2A to protect citizens from an out of control government like the Obama and Biden regimes). We cannot limit what American citizens need to protect themselves. I will not give up my 2nd amendment right to bear arms (at any level).

I do not to see the need. Not used for hunting. Not needed to protect yourself in your home. It scares me that people with anger issues could have them. All this random shooting of innocent people and children.
Unfortunately not enough background checks go deep enough when checking in prospective buyers. And ammo should not be available.
