I voted no, although I understand and considered the 2nd amendment and wording. However, the transgender are not the same as the gay population. They are trying to become something they aren't by actually changing their body. In doing so they take drugs and treatments with a known side effect of being violent. The transgender issue is a mental issue. If you can declare someone mentally unstable, the courts can take away their ability to own fire arms. One of my neighbors lost it to PTSD and attacked my husband with a knife. He wasn't permitted weapons any longer and was hospitalized for help.
I also believe though there should be a process in court. Far too many of these shootings are being done by transgender individuals.

I had to vote YES for several reasons. The 2nd amendment basically applies to all citizens as long as they are law abiding and meet all requirements to own a firearm. I think that most trans-people are law abiding just as are most gay, Black, White, Hispanic, Asian, and others. However, I would say that if a person has a history of violence, if a doctor thinks a trans person (or any other) may be radical or a threat to society then they should NOT be allowed to purchase/have a firearm. Here in CA the problem is that the state office that investigates those that should NOT have firearms (criminals/felons, insane, etc.) is so understaffed that they do NOT investigate those who should not have firearms, in a reasonable time frame. In a number of cases (shootings) others (parents, friends, associates) have given access to firearms for people that should not/could not obtain the arms themselves and those persons should be prosecuted for breaking the law.

The 2nd Amendment applies to all and does not discriminate based on any reason. Just because you have one individual of a certain group do an evil act with a firearm, all individuals within that group should not be punished because of the one.
One caveat, if it is shown that ANY individual is known to have deadly violent tendencies, their right to own firearms should be nullified regardless of how they "identify".
I do not support any of the LGBTQ etc. movement and I am Christian in my beliefs. They should be treated as human beings with the same human rights as the rest of us AND with the same penalties should they violate the safety of others.

While no one may understand the full psychological dimensions of this problem it is obvious that they are not dealing in a reality which would allow them to own a firearm. To say wholesale a group should not have the God given right to protect themselves is wrong. Part of ANY background check when buying a firearm is mental fitness. For everyone else, if you are taking antidepressents or under mental care, this usually results in you being denied. Therefore, Transgenders are clearly on medication and this must be taken into consideration as potentially mentally altering, which requires more scrutiny when registering or purchasing a firearm. I voted “unsure” because I do think it’s a slippery slope, and it could be used to take guns away from anyone that is on psych meds. I would like to see more emphasis on armed protection at our schools, and tighter security for political rallies. I also believe that some way we need to reverse the extreme radicalizing going on at college campuses. I don’t know how to do that, but I believe we need to pray for ideas for that.

Unfortunately trans people take many drugs, hormone replacement/blockers, anti depressants, and only God knows what else they could have a prescription for. For this reason, because of the meds they’re on, I do not believe they should have firearms. I don’t believe people who are on mental health meds in general should have firearms. This is an in~between question, very tricky. Yes because of the numerous shootings and the fact that many involve trans people it would seem the best thing would be to not allow them to have guns. But do we know for sure that every trans person would commit a crime? Understand I’m not for trans, I do feel they may have a mental disorder. But once you start taking away privileges from certain people you have to expect that sooner or later it may turn on you for other reasons.

The powers that be have done a really good job slowly eroding our rights - the 2A and freedom of speech amendments of our fragile constitution continue to be severely challenged.
A Republic if WE can keep it! The price of our freedom and liberty is constant vigilance. I for one will not die on my knees!
I'm unsure on this one. Take 2A rights away from one group, and where does that lead? It's a slippery slope.
I agree that many trans people are off the rails, but is that because of the meds they take? Studies would need to be done to prove, one way or the other, the effects these meds can have on the mind of the person taking them.
The answer isn't simple.
If they don't know what gender they are, they have no business owning a firearm. They are on intense medication and who knows what will happen to their mental system. You're not supposed to be able to get a gun if you have mental problems.
