Do you believe Tylenol taken by pregnant women can cause autism in their children?

I believe that Tylenol can be harmful. Many years ago a chemist who worked on the formulation of it ,
told me to never take it as it is very harmful to the liver. I have to believe it must be harmful to other organs as well and I wouldn’t touch it if I felt that an unborn child would suffer from it in any way. What is the problem with not taking it during pregnancy as there must be substitutes that can help with pain issues.

I believe you should only take medicine when absolutely needed

I don't know if Tylenol causes autism, but the manufacturer advised caution in using it while pregnant years ago. I'd say caution may be warranted in this case, until research confirms a link.

Tylenol stays in the liver, it is my understanding it stays there permanently. I took nothing during my pregnancies. I believe the first three months are critical. I did take prenatal vitamins, especially folate which affects brain development. I really disagree with all the vaccines being given. Vaccines used to be made from dead viruses, now with the advent of MNRA vaccines there seems to be a problem. All parents need to question the necessity of vaccines at such early ages.

I say yes because 90% of our government, Senators and Congressmen and most Presidents were not wealthy when they came into office, but left multi-millionaires. A lot of that $$ came from big Pharma, to keep quit. Not an RFK Jr or Trump type care more for our country and the population than 90% of the others. They don’t give a rats ass about us, period!!!

My OBGYN Dr. told me 25 years ago NOT to take Tylenol and gave me natural things.

I think there are a lot of contributing factors to the cause of autism, as well as the unhealthy status of Americans. RFK Jr is looking into this.
The doctors said smoking was safe, but it isn't. The doctor told me to change my diet to improve my cholesterol levels, and when I followed his advise they got worse! I trashed the doctors advise, changed my diet to the opposite of what he suggested, and added fish oil. Next test, and for the next 20 years, cholesterol levels have been fine. So do the doctor's really know? What are they being taught in school?
A couple of Tylenol taken over the months of pregnancy is probably not going to cause autism. But regular use, or perhaps more than moderate use during certain times of pregnancy might be a factor. They are still investigating. Why take the risk unless it is absolutely necessary. Your babies health and life are on the line, shouldn't you err in favor of a healthy child?

Asprin has been taken for hundreds of years, usually with none to mild side effects. The only reason it's not recommended for most pain symptoms is that it's not profitable.

I feel like the vaccines are a huge question mark, but taking anything while you are carrying a baby is very dangerous.

My daughter is a midwife. She told me that they have recommended no Tylenol to their clients for the past several years.

I think the load of vaccines they want our babies to take is overloading their systems. Tylenol may contribute as well if there are studies to back them up. I just pray they can slow autism down. I have a grandson who has autism, but thank goodness very high functioning.

There is no cause for Autism yet. There is no genetic marker and no cure

If you also consider the huge increase in the use of cannabis it might also be a cause of autism. Or possibly the use of both Tylenol and cannabis together. Best not to risk the baby just to spite Trump.

Use common sense! Why take the chance? It’s not worth the risk.

Do not take any medicine at all when you are pregnant as long as you can avoid it. Don't you know that Americans?

Contergan is fine told the doctors times ago.

  • Fred Allenberg - 5 months ago

Maybe not, but why would you take a chance of damaging your baby? The increase in autism over the last few decades is frightening. Something has to be causing it. You can go without it for 9 months to try to insure your baby's health.

I took Tylenol during both my pregnancies. Both my kids are fine.

I know that Tylenol can affect the liver. Some people are more sensitive to Tylenol than others. Some people liver can not metabolize Tylenol well. So there might be a link to taking Tylenol when you are pregnant to autism. I also think there are other factors involved with autism. I think certain vaccines may cause autism.

  • Carol - 5 months ago

Absolutely not. There is zero evidence that suggests it does. The Harvard study merely states there may be an association. A larger study was done that found it does not. Trump is being mislead by RFKJR.

I said yes but I also think there could be something else that facilitates the Tylenol, we just don’t know what it is yet. If the makers of Tylenol are telling you not to take when pregnant, maybe you should listen.

I think childhood abnormalities can be reduced if the male does not drink alcohol for at least one month before conceiving as I believe that the sperm can be damaged by the alcohol causing children's birth defects. It probably would be good if the female would also be alcohol free for a month before conceiving, also.

Tylenol themselves said in 2017 that pregnant women should not take this product. That’s a no brainer! Plus, if you take large quantities it can cause liver failure. So all these women with severe TDS are risking their own lives as well as their unborn child! STUPID!!!

  • Vaughn - 5 months ago

Any adult dosage is probably bad for an unborn or newborn. It’s probably bad for 12 and under as written on their labels. Why take the chance.

  • Kathy - 5 months ago

I believe they found previous reports that stated the same.

  • colleen luster - 5 months ago

    If taken excessively.
