Socially assistive robots may represent the next phase of patient engagement to drive behavior changes but as of today, Agentic Ai that is clinically focused, patient facing and conversational in nature is already having a measurable and profound impact on patient engagement, with a lower cost modality, phone and voice. There is rapidly emerging data across many of leading health systems across the country and around the world, that Agentic Ai can provide abundant clinical capacity to augment care teams and engage with patients at scale. Reduced readmissions, greater compliance in care plan adherence, care gap closure, and overall member/patient engagement is happening today.

It's not a huge stretch to envision a world where assistive robots can further engage and support patients on their journey, but cost, complexity and scale may limit it's broad impacts in the near term.
