People are so lazy!! What bothers me is they can go all around the store and push the thing out to their car and then think “oh poor me, I can’t wheel it over to the cart corral!” I understand a few people, and I mean a few, have mobility issues. My main concern is getting my car banged up by one of these stray carts.
I had a knee replacement done and less than a week later I was at Publix using a cart and a cane. I came out to my car, loaded my groceries and thought about leaving my cart near the car….but I didn’t! I hobbled over to the cart corral and limped back to my car with my cane.

I was cashier for 28 years. Returning carts always a problem.. people are lazy, they know they should return carts, but chose not to..if they had to paid for the cart while they shop.maybe that would help.. people come out in public throwing their trash on the street being rude..

I always return my cart. I am constantly inconvenienced by having to remove abandoned carts away from my vehicle either before or after parking. I hate to suggest it, because it would be a pain to me also, but store could install the quarter to unlock system. But this would inconvenience everybody and may not deter those who abandon carts.

I arrive at the store and park in handicap parking. If there is no cart I can get to while hanging onto my vehicle, I wait for someone to walk by and ask for their cart. When I go out to my car with my groceries, I unload them and leave the cart parked safely in the handicap space area for the next user.

The worst thing is when people push a cart to a corral that is farther away than just pushing it back to the store.

I have mobility issues. If the corral is nearby, I return the cart. But usually the corral is far from the handicapped parking spot, so, sorry, but I park the cart safely out the way nest the parking spot. Thank you to Publix for having employees to retrieve the carts!
