If you would research further, you will see that a de-escalation of ICE presence came about only *after* the Minnesota police actually did their job and began enforcing laws with regards to riots.
Based on the way things have played out, it is quite likely Pres. Trump was using this "soft touch" phrase for optics.
What I am curious about is what he did to get the police to become engaged where they had not before?

While I am very disappointed in President Trump in going soft on this issue, I am even more disappointed in the so-called American people who are defending these criminal illegal aliens. If they are truly so against the issue, where were they when all the other former Presidents were deporting all the illegals when those Presidents were in office. As for those people who are being paid to riot, as far as I am concerned, they are NOT Americans and should be treated as such, their behavior is revolting and disgusting. Those politicians who have ignored and violated their oath of office by conspiring to protect illegals should be held responsible, removed from office, have ALL their benefits (including retirement) and NEVER be allowed to hold any political office ever again.

No. Isn't that the problem? There are enough "softer touch" applications in place. As examples: The handling of the anti-ICE protests. Cold weather or no cold weather -- they should have brought in high-powered water hoses to scatter the unruly crowds. Or. Use LRAD on a consistent basis.

But ONLY in cities where the local law enforcement assists and backs up ICE officers. Those worthless sanctuary cities and their officials.....give them hell. And if they interfere, arrest them also. It's jut the crooked democratic LOCUST sanctuary cities that need to be straightened out!! Congress needs to outlaw these anti-American sanctuary cities....making them ILLEGAL, just like the invaders hiding in them. Not one penny in taxpayer dollars should be given to these cities....NONE!!!

I don’t agree with a softer touch. The people who were killed were paid protesters. The law state that you can protest peacefully, those two people were not doing that. In fact they shouldn’t have been there in the first place. The criminals Biden let in have raped, killed, and have caused crime rates to be higher than ever. They should not be here. The protesters should wake up and realize what they’re protesting about!

I voted no but want to say I trust our President. I also know he got the commitment from the crazies,,,the ones to be the cause of the problem, governor, mayor, and the ag. THAT GIVES ME HOPE THEY MIGHT ACTUALLY DO WHAT THE LAW REQUIRES. Those guys need prosecuting if anyone does. To think the democrats tried to get President Trump for inciting the J6 fiasco.just AGAIN shows the double standards and how low the democrats go. Just about the time you think they can’t be so bad and have absolutely no common sense they prove they TRULY can. I also am very tired of the degradation of our language while speaking to the public. I am with Melania. Childish use of gutter talk is so not what the public needs. Prove you are cool without resorting to that childishness.

Agree with GayL. The midterms are more important to continue the Trump agenda than anything.
Are the criminals soft on their victims? Deport them all.

The President needs to stay tough with the illegals and the protesters who are a bigger problem than the illegal criminals. The illegals have been given the ability to self-deport. If they did not comply and fight ICE then the onus is on them for how they are treated. These protesters need to be arrested for their "unpeaceful" assembly and interference with ICE being able to fulfill their duties. The two people who have died, however regrettable, have no one to blame but themselves for their fatal outcome- FAFO. The protesters will cause problems no matter how ICE handles the situation so we need to stay tough.

I say yes, only because take the focus off of it for a little bit and they’ll go back to doing what they’re doing and we come in and swoop down on them again when they least expected. I do think focus more on the fraud and all the benefits that are given to these people and take that away because they shouldn’t be getting funding for free daycare and welfare and Medicare but people have to be held accountable. I’m tired of all these Congress people going on TV talking about the fraud and then nothing happens to anybody.

I agree with most everyone's comments, especially Leo cuz he covered just about everything. The blame for the deaths in Minneapolis are in the laps of Walz and Frey. They incited the people to push back on ICE. The 2nd level responsibility lies with the 2 people who died. When police, or law enforcement at any level tell you to do something it's best to do it. When you fight against or attempt to threaten the life of an officer it could cost you your life. I voted NO because there will always be people who disagree with how illegal activity is handled. BUT WE THE PEOPLE voted to MAGA and that means removing the illegals from AMERICA. As long as the state authorities, local and state law enforcement are working to accomplish this goal, working alongside the federal officials and ICE without any push back, then lightening up the enforcement could be acceptable UNTIL OR IF the state again pushes back. I WANT MY COUNTRY BACK

I just wish they would cut off all incentives to come here - stop the money flow 1st. Then if the law enforcement is made to turn over arrested criminals there wouldn’t be a need for so many to do the job. I don’t think it was them causing the problem it was the paid protestors/ thugs!!

anything that makes anybody feel warm and fuzzy inside that’s fine as long as President Trump continues to get the illegals out of our country. And out of our pockets.

Ok, but only if local and state law enforcement cooperate with Federal agents with arrest warrants to pick up criminals while being held or ready for jail release. If not, they have no choice but to make arrests while criminals are in the public spaces or in their living quarters. They must go!!!

There has been far too much of stealing and criminal acts against our natural born citizens and our country. The majority of our taxpayers and voters have had enough! Our monies, our amenities. Our benefits, our educational system, our Healthcare, SNAP, etc. etc. have ALL been totally abused, stolen and manipulated by not only the illegals but many who were voted into any public office. The illegals have not contributed to or assimilated into our society, culture. They came to get what they could for free while comitting their crimes. Various elected officials, the media hyped them up by their lies and deceit to our citizens. They instigated and encouraged the riots and unpeaceful protests. So NO Trump has not been in the wrong or to blame for anything. He had to do what has been necessary based on the vile outbursts, rants, destruction, division, hate, disrespect for our laws and citizens. He IS a leader! A leader is expected to protect and preserve our society and country. Anyone who does not understand or who refuses to have any semblance of sanity and loyalty to our citizens and country does not deserve the privilege of serving in ANY public office, nor to live in this great country.
