My daughter was bored to tears in public school--literally. In 6th she said she had everything done in each class in the first 15 minutes and spent the rest of each class sitting. I did not like much of what was going on in the schools or what they were teaching. History was "politically" correct, etc. My son, on the other hand COULD NOT have been homeschooled. Not an option when EVERYTHING Mom said to him was resisted. I cannot imagine him accepting assignments from me. It would have been constant battle. My daughter has been at home for 2 years, and has excelled and thrived, devours her lessons, looks for more like teaching herself programming, etc. Her spare time is spent with good friends and good books.
