I’m concerned about the amount of people commenting how they love Fred Meyer. I find it hard to believe that this many people voluntarily love and would comment that they love a company as soulless and horrible as Kroger. Kroger would and does pay people unlivable wages, keeps people working “just enough” hours so they don’t qualify for insurance, lists products on sale for the normal msrp price (if not more), fights mercilessly against workers seeking workers comp, etc. I find the amount of comments support Fred Meyer very suspicious. I wouldn’t be surprised if management is demanding staff comment. If not, the people supporting Fred Meyer are stupid and too lazy to explore better options.
Freddie’s in Raleigh Hills is the best normal grocery store. The produce is good, plentiful, and economical.
The staff are helpful, pleasant, relaxed.
The layout is easy to navigate not like the nearby big Freddie’s at 217 and B-H Hwy.
I STILL go to this store after moving away from this neighborhood because I don’t prefer my local Safeway.
Trader Joe’s in Beaverton (next to that big Freddie’s) is the friendliest store in town. They deserve that subtitle way more than New Seasons!

Not sure if this is a fair vote. Fred Meyer isn't the same kind of store as World Foods. There are different reasons for going to each. World Foods is a sweet, local, NEIGHBORHOOD store with a variety of International, but local options.

I love Growers Outlet! There we watch the seasons change. In June, the berries arrive ready to make jams & jellies. Then locally grown cherries, plums, apricots and peaches. I see the trucks arrive in the mornings from Kimberly (OR) Orchards filled with freshly harvested peaches, then Hermiston watermelons & cantaloupe, then fresh-from-the-field corn, then sugar pie pumpkins. They also carry Bob's Red Mill products and canning supplies. Couldn't live without them.

I work at Hollywood Fred Myers at first I didn’t want to work at a grocery store but working there you really start to appreciate just the simple things that make a company work. Everyone has a role and a responsibility, I try to make every interaction meaningful and also the discounts are Lowkey crazy even if you don’t have the associates discount but Freddy’s is top tier a lot of Portlanders grew up with Fred myers being their neighborhood store love it

Zupan’s may be on the pricier side, but there are hundreds of items you could grab that don’t break the bank. Their Z cookie is amazing, I love their deli sandwiches for lunch, their chocolate bar selection is awesome and I adore their in season produce offerings. Truly, they are the only family owned grocery around and only 3 locations. Fred Meyer is a huge corporation and not worth the vote. Portland for small businesses!

WINCO has the best prices hands down. Unbeatable. Fred Meyer is part of the disgusting mega corporation Kroger, and they treat all their customers/employee's likes thieves with security at all entrances and exits. Prices are high, quality of meats and produce are low. Zupans and World Foods are okay though, love them. New Seasons would be better if they had lower prices and stopped masquerading as a locally owned owned business. New Seasons is internationally owned out of South Korea. WINCO gets the vote on pricing, variety and locally sourced items like their eggs.

Zupan’s on West Burnside offers an excellent variety of high‑end, high‑quality products. The meat and seafood department is the best in town. Service is above average, and there are always plenty of cashiers to get you checked out quickly once you’ve finished shopping. The store is well‑designed, clean, and welcoming. No pets are allowed inside, reflecting their commitment to keeping the store pleasant for all customers. There is plenty of parking, and it’s conveniently close to our home.

Fred Meyer puts the customer first and they always make it right. I have never had an experience at a Fred Meyer where something went wrong, and an associate or manager didn't make it right for me. As an employee, I shop here to make sure the experience holds up to management's expectations. I really Love Fred Meyers to shop in.
The Prices and Ad Merchandise selection is great, and have the best produce departments
across the area. The service meat and seafood areas will cut, wrap,
and fill ready to cook bags with the cut of seafood spiced butter and herbs ready to put in the oven!

Zupans on Macadam has the best meat and fish as well ss wines, produce and other goods — often cheaper than big chain groceries. And the people working there are nice snd very helpful — unlike the grumpy chain store workers. Great place!
