I will never use self-checkout. I believe in saving human jobs!

I tend to be an ‘organized’ checkout person, meaning I place items in an order that is helpful for bagging. I will do this for a cashier at regular aisle, but can easily do it myself (and quickly) at the self check locations.
With at least 4 self-check registers, anyone should be able to use them regardless of number of items. The customers who prefer more service or require additional assistance should certainly use the main checkouts for that reason.

Some should be limited but not all. Stores don't teach proper bag packing so I prefer to pack my own!

My pet peeve is people that are so self centered that they block the whole aisle with their cart and their body so no one can pass.

Everyone is attempting to get though the checkout ASAP. I do think some of the self check lanes should be limited to 12 items, but others should let you buy as much as you want.
