If a child is born in the U S the child would need to remain in the United States to receive the values that accompany with growing up in this country would give the child. If parents are illegal and did not apply the correct way to enter the U S they would have to be deported at which time the child could not remain and would then return to parents country and be considered whatever nationality parents were in the first place. Most foreign countries have different values than the U S.

There are many countries with birthright citizenship but there are few that don't have restrictions attached. The US has unrestricted birthright citizenship and that needs to change. I believe the 14th amendment has been misinterpreted and misused. I think it needs constitutional clarification, but in order to have a clearer distinction on what birthright citizenship encompasses and what it doesn't, there needs to be an amendment with additional restrictions (such as birth tourism) applied so that in the future there is no further debatable questions about what birthright citizenship is and isn't. The other option would be to abolish birthright citizenship altogether, and personally that would be my choice. Other countries have done it, we could too, end it once and for all and avoid further challenges, litigations, or misinterpretations.

I am strongly opposed to tourism babies. These babies are raised in a different set of values, morals and allegiance to their parents country not the United States. They then come here and vote. Then we no longer have our country.

America had better wake up. Democrats know and have used anchor babies as a way to get votes. This was an amendment with good intentions to open citizenship to slaves and children of slaves after the Civil War. Of course democrats love it as a weapon to help destroy America by allowing illegals and other countries to circumvent our immigration laws. Chinese billionaires are using surrogate mothers to birth multiple children. At eighteen they are allowed to vote, run for office, obtain government jobs, enter our military, enter college at taxpayers' expense, and in 2016 the election was won by just 100,000. China is using the 14 amendment to enrich themselves when they return those anchor babies to the Us and we will soon see the results. Estimates now say that over one million anchor babies just from China can vote and that doesn't count other countries.

Reform it and make it clear that unless the parents are US citizens, before their children are born, their children are not citizens of the United States of America. Anchor babies should not be allowed! Tourism babies should not be allowed. They are not allowed duel citizenship in other countries unless requested and approved.
