Would you reject a job candidate who seems to have used AI to craft a resume, emails, or headshot?

Yes, reject them. The problem is that they "seem to have used AI". That shows incompetence, or at least amateurishness.

Here's the AI-using candidate you want. You hire them, they turn out to be an excellent employee, and everyone is happy. Years later, they divulge to you that they used AI. You are so impressed, not only are you not angry, but you are impressed, and maybe even a bit jealous!

Here's a different perspective on this. Would you reject a provider's recommendations or care plan if the provider uses AI to scribe (generative), document your visit (generative), and submit payment (agentic)?

My experience as a hiring manager:
What's on the resume is only a guide to who someone is and they are already very finely tuned/crafted. Behavioral interviewing is the way. "Tell me about the time you....*bullet point in resume*".
If my company is using AI to screen candidates, why shouldn't candidates use AI to submit for the roles?

How do you know if it mis-represnts them if AI crafted there resume, they are trying to get the "job" and will make themselves better than they appear. Be authentic be yourself and be real. Kids/graduates now a days dont know how to communicate or hold a simple converstaion let alone craft a resume they all have their face buried in their phones

On the other hand...would you as a candidate reject a company that uses AI to screen applications??? I doubt it. File under: What goes around comes around!

I've used an AI program to give me a better headshot in professional dress. I look a little younger and thinner, that's all No different than if I went to a studio and had a professional headshot retouched.

Your resume should speak in your language, but lately the requirements from employers have grown so specific and stringent (persnickety) that it's hard NOT to process your basic resume against the JD.

Emails...if you can't competently write a simple email, you should be taking writing lessons.
