I'd rather prefer any JS library support. Instead of using only one, admins will be able to choose which library to load, besides jquery can be loaded along with mootools using a compatibility mode.

    Let people choose.

joking!, but check out extjs.com the framework as well as the lite Extcore - these are both really nice to work with...

    ExtJS noobs!

If they stubbornly go ahead with mootools, someone should fork a jquery version. Then the moo will die!

There truly is no reason why to use mootools.
jQuery has so many more plugins/functionality and it is backward compatible.

An argument as to why not to switch is that there are many devs that have built templates/extensions using mootools. Well the upgrade to the next version is still going to break their code. Might as well switch to a better more robust framework, that is backwards compatible avoiding any future issues.

I could go all day as to why jQuery is better. But I think everyone knows it.

jQuery is awesome and simple to use than mootools...

jQuery is way easier to use than Mootools for the common (or below common, me) JS dev.
