Fair is fair. Lance jumped earlier and took advantage of a quirky breakaway to put time into Contador, which certainly wasn't the Team plan either. And, although it's early yet, Contador is certainly stronger to date. Lance finished 4th among his team in his specialty, time trialing. They're going to battle it out on the road and no one should blame Contador...or Lance...for this. But give Alberto a break....my guess is he could have gone earlier and Lance would have followed him except Contador's acceleration was breathtaking.

I don't think Lance is done. The recent controversy of whether Contador disobeyed team instructions or not, when he took off & gained the 20 sec or so on Lance, will either fuel Lance or give him, & the rest of the team, justification for making him the team leader.
