IMO, it's ridiculous to be disgusted by the money going to any of these charities including SHF because they are all worthwhile charities.
I think that a lot of Danny haters agendas are showing on this page. There is a lot of Don't vote for Sophia's heart, Danny is awful, Danny fans are taking away from the other charities etc...

It's interesting to see that those who don't know Danny and those who didn't know Sophia are the ones who have the most to say... I KNOW Danny and was blessed to know Sophia, how well? I was in the room with her for twelve hours and was there the moment she passed please don't discredit SHF because u don't like Danny or think he's using his "fame" to boost votes for the foundation that of course is the closest to HIS heart SHF is in fact a very young organization it's younger than a year old so please know that in time Danny and the rest of Sophia's family who understood what children and their well being meant to Sophia are working non stop to do everything possible to make her foundation legite if THAT is ur concern then by all means support the charity of ur choice but please understand that just as other people are drwn to a certain charity for personal reasons the same goes for SHF... Here's the deal, all the charities are deserving. However, most of you are voting for Spphia's Heart Foundation and that's great. But, you're voting in honor of Danny's wife because you love Danny, and that seems pathetic to me. Do you think that will make you his friend?? That foundation is to keep kids on the "right path" and off the streets. I think that is parents' responsibility and not a charity. Keeping kids entertained is not nearly as important as saving a child's life. Think about all the kids that are in the hospital fighting for life, like my nephew, JC, who has cancer. He's a 3 yr old little boy with cancer! He can't go swimming, or play at the park. He gets spinal taps once a week and "hates" his head because he doesn't have hair. Forgive me if I find saving lives a little more important than kids not having somewhere to play. SAVE LIVES and let parents' take care of their kids entertainment!

All of these are worthy charities. My own vote went to SHF. Just so folks out there know, I work with a foundation that gives grants to non-profit organizations and I have done research into SHF. It is a legitimate 501(c)3 non-profit organization, registered with the IRS. I have not only visited the website but have spoken personally to the Vice President of the organization. They are a newer organization but their dream is big. They plan to start with an after school program in Music and the Arts to try to give children and youth an alternative to other less positive influences; they plan to work with the families of these young people in mentoring, parenting skills, etc. They have established a scholarship fund in Sophia Gokey's name to help low-income children continue their education; they have started a fund to help children of low-income receive medical care, especially for chronic or congenital health issues such as the congenital heart condition that eventually claimed Sophia's life. They are still learning and growing as a non-profit but their goal is pure, and not selfish in any way. So, my research has been done. I hope everyone will choose the charity that speaks to their own heart and mind. No need to bash any of them, especially with blatant untruths. They are all worthy. Thanks for doing this on Twitter, Nick!

Real Story and Jan: You guys are either too stupid to understand the MTV story or you are lying. The whole Frames Direct thing had nothing to do with Danny. A person running a Danny fansite hooked up with Frames Direct, and said on the site that they were giving part of the proceeds to SHF, but Danny came on his Twitter and said the Sophia's Heart had not received anything. It makes me sad to sit here and read such hurtful things about someone and a charity that you know nothing about. How can people say such terrible things about someone who is trying to help others? I think anyone who wants to help people in need is amazing. I think maybe we should all look inside ourselves and think about what we can do to help others instead of trying to bring people down. Real Story and Jan: You guys are either too stupid to understand the MTV story or you are lying. The whole Frames Direct thing had nothing to do with Danny. A person running a Danny fansite hooked up with Frames Direct, and said on the site that they were giving part of the proceeds to SHF, but Danny came on his Twitter and said the Sophia's Heart had not received anything. Danny told us all on Twitter that it was a scam! Danny had NOTHING to do with that. Please get your facts straight before spreading lies about someone.

It makes me sad to sit here and read such hurtful things about someone and a charity that you know nothing about. How can people say such terrible things about someone who is trying to help others? I think anyone who wants to help people in need is amazing. I think maybe we should all look inside ourselves and think about what we can do to help others instead of trying to bring people down. Any of these charities are amazing and anyone who works with them should be proud of the accomplishments they have achieved. Be nice everyone, and lets look at the good here, someone who is in need is going to get help, and isn't that enough to put a smile on your face?
