I've been riding a bicycle in a group for the past 37 years with a helmet and have seen numerous occasins where the helmet has prevented serious injuries. In some cases the helmet is cracked in half and the person has walked away from the crash. In some cases we ahve been at speeds in excess of 20mph.
There are also two occasins where my daughter had falls where she was going slow and her head hit the pavement and the helmet prevented injury.
Yet I see motorcyclists without helmets their heads must be harder than bicycle riders.
