I have 30 years in education and 3 degrees....along with a lifetime of appreciation for those who have worked hard and fought hard to keep this country free and safe.
I don't think it takes a college degree or anything more than common sense to see the waste and spending the current W.H. and congressional leadership is selling as "good for you". This propaganda is not new. Several regimes have sold the same message. History is full of charismatic leaders, self-serving politicians and corrupt governments. We are not void of such nor is it helpful to bring up G.W. or any other past president in this discussion. By comparison to Obama, the past was just practice. We should all know lies for what they are. When a salesperson promises everything ... we should know that they have no intention of delivering. Most of us know that only a fool believes such promises.
We have lost much so far but nothing compared to what we will lose with what is called health care reform. I have studied this field for decades and it has no chance of being done well by this group...any more than the last group under Hillary. This is not a political statement but a factual one based upon current Health Reform issues and recommendations. Those pushing reform are not trying to help or else they would be the first to require ALL federal employees (including congress) to be the test subjects for this new "Health Care" plan. Ted Kennedy's plan actually exempts federal employees from participation. ENOUGH SAID.
When I vote for a leader for "change" he or she will be the first to forfeit their congressional health care and/or salary and lead through example not through talk.

TO KAYLA: I would like to assure you that we are neither ignorant nor selfish; we value our freedom. We live in the greatest country on earth where we are free to choose our destinies. We can choose where we live, where we work, and above all we can choose how we are cared for. We should be able to choose which healthcare plan we want, we should be able to choose to live. While the idea of all people having health care is a wonderful thought, unfortunately it is not a realistic one. The system would be biased and heavily abused by those who ARE selfish. You should take a look at how much money is lost every year in medicare alone through fraud, waste, and abuse (FWA); and that is ONLY medicare. You should then imagine the amount of abuse done when ALL Americans are on a single government provided healthcare plan. Taxes would be elevated to an even more unreasonable level and the economy would surely suffer and come to a screeching halt. Once again we are neither ignorant or selfish. We just choose freedom, we just choose LIFE!

Why the big deal? The health insurance industry is wasting your premiums on doing pretty much the same this. When you add up you health care costs to your income tax you are behind those who live in nations with supposedly much higher taxes. This president & his administration are trying to gain more & more control of the American citizens, so eventually; they will be all powerful & able to make all of our decisions for us. They honestly believe that Americans aren't intelligent enough to make their own decisions or to know what's best. This entire health care reform is despicable & will end in socialized medicine. There will be no other way for this administration to pay for such a plan; seeing how they continue to deepen the current deficit by leaps & bounds, with no end in sight. Make no mistake, their plan will result in health care rationing & will hurt our senior citizens the most. People in Great Britain & Canada will tell you that their socialized health care is horrendous. Their people are under a lottery system, in which certain people have to wait for months for a medical procedure that they need or may save their life. They don't have the best prescription drugs available to them; those are much too expensive; even if these drugs are proven to be extremely beneficial & even save lives. The bottom line is money & to their government, money is much more important than a human life. That is why so many individuals come to the United States to receive the important health care that they can't get in their countries. By the time many people in those countries actually get to see a doctor, it's often too late. The disease or cancer, etc, has spread & is too far advanced to cure. Senior citizens are denied many types of life saving health care, simply because their age & their age alone, does not warrant the government investing large amounts of money into surgery or other procedures for them, even if it could save their lives. Please don't let this president or his administration fill your head full of their rhetoric and lies, which they have been caught up in numerous times. The answer to those who believe the things this president & his administration tell Americans about their wonderful health care reform bill lies in the answer to the $1M dollar question. If this plan is so good & wonderful for all Americans, then why are the president & his administration refusing to go under the plan themselves? They have ensured it so that this plan will never apply to them or their families. What does that tell the American public? It's not good enough for the president or members of congress; however, it is the best thing since sliced bread for the rest of us lowly Americans, who are not smart enough to make our own healthcare decisions. This is a president and administration that can't run a simple rebate program, like the cash for clunkers, properly; yet they think they can manage a government-run nationwide healthcare plan for the rest of America (other than themselves---of course). Please ask the president & your congress members why they are ensuring that they will never have to fall under the new health care plan that they are trying desperately to enforce for the rest of Americans. Please unite now, organize your communities, write to your senators and representatives, etc., to let them know that you won't stand for them taking your basic rights away, that were fought so hard for, so many years ago. Don't let them destroy what America stands for & the rights given to all people under our Constitution of the United States. It is insulting that Obama, Pelosi and the rest of them think that they need to convince us of how they are so knowledgeable and the American public is stupid, and believe that we will be happy that they are using our money to do it. Obama (aka Mr Elite) thought he could push through reforms by the beginning of August, and we would all roll over because of his charisma. Sorry, but the American public actually has a brain on occasion, and won't march like lemmings to the slaughter. Maybe if he thought that the American public didn't comprehend the complexities of the entire medical, pharmaceutical, insurance systems and how they are tied to the economy, he could have started an information campaign to enlighten the public regarding every side of the equation as Step 1. Then based on feedback from the common man, they could have crafted a bill that reflects the will of the knowledgeable public. Instead he pushed HIS personal agenda forward, and expected us to swallow it hook, line, and sinker, just because he and Nancy said it was a good thing to do. Oh, whoops, no, it wasn't just a good thing to believe in their supernatural wisdom, it was "un-American" if we didn't blindly follow the Pied Piper. So now he is feeing the backlash of his arrogance from the voter, but he has no right to spend our money to try to convince us otherwise, and the legislature should stop wasting taxpayer money trying to pass health reform - they need to admit defeat, at least for now, and move onto dealing with the economy. I for one am tired of the daily press releases from the administration trying to convince us that the worst is over and we are rebounded. I don't see new jobs being created and people going back to work, just more companies laying off or going bannkrupt.

I don't think it takes a college degree or anything more than common sense to see the waste and spending the current W.H. and congressional leadership is selling as "good for you". Those pushing reform are not trying to help or else they would be the first to require ALL federal employees (including congress) to be the test subjects for this new "Health Care" plan. Ted Kennedy's plan actually exempts federal employees from participation. ENOUGH SAID.

We can choose where we live, where we work, and above all we can choose how we are cared for. We should be able to choose which healthcare plan we want, we should be able to choose to live. While the idea of all people having health care is a wonderful thought, unfortunately it is not a realistic one. The system would be biased and heavily abused by those who ARE selfish. You should take a look at how much money is lost every year in medicare alone through fraud, waste, and abuse (FWA); and that is ONLY medicare. You should then imagine the amount of abuse done when ALL Americans are on a single government provided healthcare plan. Taxes would be elevated to an even more unreasonable level and the economy would surely suffer and come to a screeching halt. Once again we are neither ignorant or selfish. We just choose freedom, we just choose LIFE!

Either most of you folks commenting on here have very hidden, selfish selfish goals and ideas of how society should be (to benefit YOU), or you are really some of the most ignorant, unpatriotic and, for lack of better words, dim witted group of people out there. Maybe if you just considered some alternate sources of news/ information than FOX you may be exposed to conversations (those still exist, btw, even though FOX has reduced itself to soundbites and scare tactics) and ideas that will expand and enrich your understanding and curiosity about the world and issues in this country. Is't it against federal law for the W.H. to use taxpayer dollars to promote a political agenda? Managing internal communications is one thing but to send unsolicited spam across the country to promote a specific political issue is another. DNC funds should have been used, not tax dollars. And that doesn't even address the legality of sending unsolicited emails.
Why the big deal? The health insurance industry is wasting your premiums on doing pretty much the same this. When you add up you health care costs to your income tax you are behind those who live in nations with supposedly much higher taxes. It is wasteful but no more wasteful than the slime that run the for - profit health care industry that deny coverage to people who have paid for it.

There will be no other way for this administration to pay for such a plan; seeing how they continue to deepen the current deficit by leaps & bounds, with no end in sight. Make no mistake, their plan will result in health care rationing & will hurt our senior citizens the most. People in Great Britain & Canada will tell you that their socialized health care is horrendous. Their people are under a lottery system, in which certain people have to wait for months for a medical procedure that they need or may save their life. They don't have the best prescription drugs available to them; those are much too expensive; even if these drugs are proven to be extremely beneficial & even save lives. The bottom line is money & to their government, money is much more important than a human life. That is why so many individuals come to the United States to receive the important health care that they can't get in their countries. By the time many people in those countries actually get to see a doctor, it's often too late. The disease or cancer, etc, has spread & is too far advanced to cure. Senior citizens are denied many types of life saving health care, simply because their age & their age alone, does not warrant the government investing large amounts of money into surgery or other procedures for them, even if it could save their lives. Please don't let this president or his administration fill your head full of their rhetoric and lies, which they have been caught up in numerous times. The answer to those who believe the things this president & his administration tell Americans about their wonderful health care reform bill lies in the answer to the $1M dollar question. If this plan is so good & wonderful for all Americans, then why are the president & his administration refusing to go under the plan themselves? They have ensured it so that this plan will never apply to them or their families. What does that tell the American public? It's not good enough for the president or members of congress; however, it is the best thing since sliced bread for the rest of us lowly Americans, who are not smart enough to make our own healthcare decisions. This is a president and administration that can't run a simple rebate program, like the cash for clunkers, properly; yet they think they can manage a government-run nationwide healthcare plan for the rest of America (other than themselves---of course). should we use taxpayer money to try and drum up support for health care reform (oops did I say reform? I think I meant take over and control) shouldn't even need to ask that question just turn on the tv and see what the general public (at least the ones that actually work for the money these morons in Washington so freely like to spend) You will see a bunch of non patriots, screaming and carrying on, (oops sorry again I think that would be the representative from I believe Georgia who has the, lets use a dem word "Audacity" to point his finger at the people who put him in the job, and scream "all you had to do was call my office and set up FOR AN APPOINTMENT" (not sure what grammar that is but who knows. I am against gov health care with a passion and also the spending spree they are on. Guess when you can print more money you never run out. It is insulting that Obama, Pelosi and the rest of them think that they need to convince us of how they are so knowledgeable and the American public is stupid, and believe that we will be happy that they are using our money to do it. Obama (aka Mr Elite) thought he could push through reforms by the beginning of August, and we would all roll over because of his charisma. Sorry, but the American public actually has a brain on occasion, and won't march like lemmings to the slaughter. Maybe if he thought that the American public didn't comprehend the complexities of the entire medical, pharmaceutical, insurance systems and how they are tied to the economy, he could have started an information campaign to enlighten the public regarding every side of the equation as Step 1. Then based on feedback from the common man, they could have crafted a bill that reflects the will of the knowledgeable public. Instead he pushed HIS personal agenda forward, and expected us to swallow it hook, line, and sinker, just because he and Nancy said it was a good thing to do. Oh, whoops, no, it wasn't just a good thing to believe in their supernatural wisdom, it was "un-American" if we didn't blindly follow the Pied Piper. So now he is feeing the backlash of his arrogance from the voter, but he has no right to spend our money to try to convince us otherwise, and the legislature should stop wasting taxpayer money trying to pass health reform - they need to admit defeat, at least for now, and move onto dealing with the economy. I for one am tired of the daily press releases from the administration trying to convince us that the worst is over and we are rebounded. I don't see new jobs being created and people going back to work, just more companies laying off or going bannkrupt.
