I agree with the congressman from South Carolina; or might I say, each time the wind changes direction so does the Obama administration.

IF YOU SUPPORT OBAMA THEN YOU MIGHT AS WELL SUPPORTED HILTER AS WELL CAUSE SOONER OR LATER WE'RE LOSE OUR FREEDOM CAUSE YOU PEOPLE WHO SUPPORT OBAMA IS ASKING FOR ANOTHER HILTER WHICH OUR FORE FATHERS DIED FOR IS OUR FREEDOM. IF YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT FREEDOM JUST KEEP HIM IN OFFICE AND WHEN HE DOES TAKE AWAY YOUR FREEDOM THEN YOU CAN BLAME YOURSELF.

The more that I hear the president speak, the more he loses his credibility, which he's lost in my mind a long time ago. It is obvious to me that he thinks the American people are dumb.

Logically, there is not way to cover all those extra people without it costing us mega money and the care people receive will suffer.

Private insurance companies will not be able to compete with the public plan and everyone that has coverage today, will eventually be forced in to the governments plan because their employers will go to the public plan over the private one. Government does not belong in the private sector- ever.

Congress and the president represent us and the people have been speaking very loudly on this topic. Anyone not listening to the people they represent should be voted out of office the next election.

Susan...you need to chill...you are all over the place, FOX is a bunch of liars and then you go off an a tangent about the government...what ARE you talking about and this question comes from an Independent.

  • Sandy - 17 years ago

hay sy if you know the TRUTH about Fox News let us hear it.

  • Christopher - 17 years ago

callie please don't tell me your so dedicated to this news agency that you blindly believe everything they tell you.... If you want real truth get on the ground and look for yourself, read what REAL PEOPLE, INDIVIDUALS, not media companies say is going on. Take Fox News and major media outlets for what their worth, a starting point to find out the truth through your own research.

  • TyWebb - 17 years ago

Of course you can't change the mind of Republicans. I'm really glad you are not the majority of Americans. I am very proud of our President. This is a once in a lifetime chance to fix a huge problem and President Obama is going to get it done. It might not be what every other industrialized nation has, which is a form a guaranteed government health care, but I'm sure it will be the best we can do considering all of the stupid obstructionist "conservatives" standing in the way.

Change has come. Choke on it Repubs.

  • Sandy Martinez - 17 years ago

anyone that believes that the government is only out for the good of the people needs to get their head out of the sand. Read history, read the constitution. Washington has never been for anyone or anythng that they didn't or couldn't get something for themselves. A public option is the people paying more for government's creed. A public option is not free the money will come from us. Wake up call for the people that can't decide what side of the issues they are on and pity for the ones that think the public option is a good thing, for they will be the first one crying.

  • Christopher - 17 years ago

Well said S.Y I believe that extends to all major media outlets as well.

  • callie - 17 years ago

S.Y. the only fools who fear FOX NEWS are those who refuse to hear the TRUTH...and it's not coming out of Washington.

  • Susan - 17 years ago

I didn't hear anything new except he might!!!! look into malpractice claims. Yeh right!!!! The only thing I heard in his speach was how the right side is lying and fear mongering then he turns right around and is fear mongering himself about all the deaths we are responsible for each day we delay. He wants to take the right side to task for their transgressions but still won't listen to the people of this country just has Pelosi and Reid call us names and belittle us. When did Washington politicians decide they are in charge and the American people don't matter any more. Do they know something about the voting process that puts everything in their pocket and takes more rights away from us???? Yes I am very afraid the country I grew up in and have always been so proud of is in trouble. I hope the KOOL AIDE drinkers wake up sooner than later when it will be tooooooo late.

  • Callie - 17 years ago

Susan what's that you were saying about being fooled?? Why are you on this site if you're sooooo in favor of HRH and his policies?? WAKE UP AND OPEN UP YOU SHEEPLE EARS....

Fox news is a laugh! For Angel: The Gov't is going to control every aspect of your life? Words to describe how "stupid" this statement are just not worth the time for people of your mentality. Go eat a donut!

  • S.Y - 17 years ago

Fox news is real and dangerous threat to the character of this country. It is NOT fair and balanced. Fox news lies and continues to distort the facts. Fox news delights in instilling fear into american people for their selfish attempt at political gain. Media is a powerful tool that is abused and misused by this news network. For those of you who respect and choose to watch this news network, you owe it to yourself to find out the story behind fox news, who is running it, the power that is abused and the way in which they profit from feeding you misinformation. If you choose to continue to watch and respect that network that is up to you, but you owe it to yourself to dig a little deeper and understand that this is a huge money making corporation founded on greed, ask yourself why you have placed your trust in this corporation?

  • Greg G - 17 years ago

I think our president needs to re-think his options. Clearly there is little support for his IDEAS. As president Mr. Obama is obligated to hear any and all clear and concise IDEAS about what should be done with Health Care as he said every one agrees there is a problem.
I am still unclear as to WHY he does not like the IDEA about allowing Health Insurance companies selling insurance across state lines? Also what is so wrong with the IDEA that ALL people involved with Health Care be held accountable for missusing or defrauding the Health Care System? After all the House and Senate are responsible for enacting LAWs this is clearly an issue that needs definite guidelines. Futher together with the Department of Justice the House and Sentae could mandate stiff penalties for any and all offenders to include Monetary fines and Jail time.

  • Callie - 17 years ago

MJ Riney, HRH is very favorable to abortion, he stated he will not repeal the "Hyde Amendment" that forbids "tax" money paying for abortions however, this does not exclude them/him mandating that insurance co. pay for them. Read the "Freedom of Choice Act," sponsored by HRH and hillary, and boxer and fiestein in 2007. He favors abortion on demand up to and including late term abortion for the "...economic and social (there's that word, "social") well being of a woman." WHAT???? Check it out.

  • Jennifer - 17 years ago

I went to CNN's website and the Obama Health Care article is brought to you by Bank of America. Yet, Fox biased? haha!

  • Susan - 17 years ago

Fair and balanced??? Fox News is a joke. Lies and exaggerations are NOT news! You can fool some of the people some of the time.

  • Disgusted in Texas - 17 years ago

I'm not sure which I find more insulting...the fact that he can stand before Congress and lie to the American people or the fact that he and his administration believe we are so stupid that we don't understand simple math, can't read and can't comprehend simple logic. Maybe it's our fault...maybe we've been too silent for too long and allowed career politicians to start believing this is their country to do with as they wish, regardless of how the rest of us feel about it.

  • Alec - 17 years ago

I do believe that somewhere in the constitution it says "Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." The word "Life" comes first for a good reason. The American dream can be regained if liberty is taken away, for liberty can be returned. Happiness likewise may be lost and found soon after. Life however, never has the luxury of a second chance. Once lack of preventative care or medical coverage puts you simultaneously in bankruptcy and on your death bed, it is over. There is no reset button. I ask people to think about whether they know anyone who has suffered a serious illness and how it has affected their finances. Even with health insurance people loose everything. People who pay their premiums, people who budget and save daily are dropped for supposed pre-existing conditions, or simply beacause the stock ticker of that insurance company will go up a fraction of a percent. Isn't it time that we guarantee that first and most important right...LIFE

p.s. To all those who are afraid of the government deciding whether you get care or not i say this. I FEAR THE BOTTOM LINE OF AN INSURANCE COMPANY A LOT MORE.

  • bill - 17 years ago

Why are the Republicans not writing bills for Congress to get rid of Medicare that seems pretty Socialist to me. Why are they letting our Vets suffer under that terrible run government system the Veteran Administration. Wake up and lets get real. If you really stand by less government do something about it. If you believe in free market let our Seniors and Vets purchase their own Insurance with vouchers, credits, competition etc. Propose a bill that phase out these wasteful systems. Double standard at its best.

  • callie - 17 years ago

jane, your racism and name calling do NOT affect those of us who have functioning brains. HRH and his Chicago goon squad thought they were walking into mindless Chicago, no opposition, politics as usual and they do not know what to do but "LIE".

  • John E. - 17 years ago

A long fancy speech with no new ideas.
Revenue neutral? How dumb does he think we are?? Dems are
crying foul at someone yelling "You Lie!" at the President. Dems routinely
called President Bush a liar and often did it when he was visiting a foreign country so as to embarass him and the nation.

  • MJ Riney - 17 years ago

THREE CHEERS JEFF ON YOUR COMMENT BACK YO JANE. How can we trust this plan when it is going to be funded with waste money from Medicare. Since Medicare is broke, how can it pay for a new health plan. Why not fix Medicare first. Not talked about was covering illegals, paying for abortions, and tort reform was only touched upon - he did not say anything about reforming it. Let's see if he will actually talk to the Republicans now - open his door - and make changes to the current plan. He is a great speaker but says WORDS - JUST WORDS - NOT ACTUAL FACTS. It doesn't sound like he listened to what the American people have been saying to him. NO TO THIS HEALTH PLAN AS IS!!

  • Christopher - 17 years ago

This is for Kay. I believe your faith in Fox News as an unbiased source of information is sadly misplaced. There is no major news outlet that provides total coverage, they all report around what their viewers want to see and here. Media is for profit, therefor all reports by major media outlets are spun to give the largest audience what they want to see. Don't believe everything the mass media tells you, thats why they exist now in the way they do; to alter your state of mind. To encourage you to believe something by saying it over and over again. Never defend mass media, they may report whats going on, but never what they don't want you to hear.

  • donottreadonme - 17 years ago

What part of forcing one to buy something is a choice? It is not constitutional, as congress only has powers to levy and collect taxes. Even car insurance has an opt-out clause in the form of posting a bond, and you don't have to buy it if you don't drive in the first place. This reform is about so much more than health care. It is about government power and the government wants it all.

The old saying that "Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely" definitely applys here. The government is corrupt already. Now they want absolute power.

Also, objections to the healh care proposals aren't a political party issue by nature, but are an ideological nature. We want government to form very limited restrictions on our lives, and only to the extent to facilitate fair and balanced trade with our fellow country men, and to provide for the common defense of the nation. We don't want government telling us we can't pray to Jesus in schools, but must allow (and hear) those who pray to some other god or the diatribe of those who don't believe in any god. We don't want government telling us we must buy anything either.

Obama lied in his speach. He keeps ignoring the fact that HR3200 has a clause that would allow the national health care administrator to remove whole plans from the program or to kick individuals off of their plan. He ignored so many other parts of the bill that are contradictory to his statements that the response to his WHOLE speach is "YOU LIE!!!!"

Obama's speach was like a word puzzle where there is one square missing and you slide the each square around to properly properly position them to spell a word. He just slide the parts around some, and stuck the "public option" in the "public marketplace." In this case, no matter how Obama slides the squares around, the word is always is POWER.

  • cole - 17 years ago

Obama's speech was very disappointing as the chip on his shoulder gets bigger.. this independent says it was a long waste of my time.

  • Harry Anderson - 17 years ago

Let's face the facts, this President is and always shall be less than truthful. Many seem to say he is such a good speaker, I on the other hand find his speeches so extraneous, deceitful, chocked full of ridiculous rhetoric and frankly I am astonished he can hold his miserable head up in society. What a blatant liar. What an accomplished user. What a thoroughly repulsive egomaniac. I cannot believe anything he says and that is so frustrating because he, as the President, cannot seem to understand what this country needs.

Want to do us all a service get rid of H. Clinton and stop making us loose face internationally. Get rid of N. Pelosi that nasty, mean spirited, wild eyed nincompoop along with the rest of the cast of jackasses, Harry Reid, Charlie Wrangle, Chuckie "Hair Club Are Us" Schumer and let's keep going down the line until we have people in office who really can pass a suitability for employment investigation.

Stop stealing from the elderly. Get rid of lawyers in healthcare tort reform needed, investigate insurance companies for their past practices and hammer when necessary, remove pre-existing illness from the picture, remove caps on insurance ceilings, allow inter-state insurance, and so on. Let's do something as a nation this time, for the people of this nation with out paying through the nose for the politics.

Obama, you are no friend to America. Step down, get the hell out, take the rest of the crooks with you and move to some other country that embraces socialism. Before you go get out of healthcare.

  • MacCane - 17 years ago

Neither Social Security, Medicare or Medicaid are by law intended to compete with, regulate or supplant private insurance and open competition. The bills being proposed and the president's plans do, and move the country to a one payer system through government health care for all, not just seniors or the qualifying poor. Apples and oranges to compare. By the way, the existing programs are all under funded and headed for insolvency. That's the track record of the federal government. You want more of the same? And why is it now 30 million uninsured? Thought it was 45 million? Who make up the 15 million? Illegals? Leave them out of the number now so he can say they aren't in the plan? Do you think we are fools?

  • Kay - 17 years ago

Obviously some people have no clue how well Fox News truly does present more trustworth news than those other media's. I would say with 100% certainty, I have no respect for the man elected into office, his name and the word "President" will never come out of my mouth together. It's sad how the democratic party has changed, they don't even stand for what they were originally founded. This man is helping to bring great divide to this great nation. Lies, lies and more lies, obama and his administration are more like tyrants then free world leaders....they want to control every aspect of our lives. If you can't see that, you're a big idiot then them.
ALL RED BLOODED AMERICANS WILLING TO FIGHT FOR OUR RIGHTS AND KEEP THIS COUNTRY STRONG IN CAPITALISM...... DON'T FORGET SATURDAY IS THE BIG TEA PARTY IN WASHINGTON DC.....IF YOU CAN'T MAKE IT WATCH IT ON THE FOX NEWS CHANNEL - GLEN BECK - I believe from noon to 3pm (double check that time)
I'm ready to fight for my grandparents, parents, and children......We all deserve better than this........
It's time to vote out those idiots who have held those seats in the House far to long and NOT listened to the people.

  • Christopher - 17 years ago

Funny, doesn't matter if you read a story on Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, or wherever. There are always 1000 posts after it from everyday people that have no clue about what their talking about. A few years ago it was mindless hate against Bush with never a single fact or resource to back what their saying, now its Obama. This doesn't go for every post, just most of them. Some of you actually take the time to learn what the truth is and provide proof and resources for what you say, and bravo zulu to you. As for the rest of you, liberals, moderates, and conservatives who come on these sites and spew garbage filled with hate when your level of knowledge on these subjects is nil, please for the sake of NOT making America look any dumber do your homework. A major problem some of you have is you get all your news from one place, and always from major outlets. No one is telling you the full truth ever, there is always spin, YOU HAVE TO LEARN FROM DIVERSE SOURCES. I'm sure my message falls on deaf ears here, but anyone tell me why its a bad idea to get your news from as many sources as possible.... I want to hear that one, because its not a bad idea :P Hopefully someday they label all posts that cant be fact checked as opinion and provide filters so real conversation can take place on these comment sections.

  • MacCane - 17 years ago

All FOX surveys a joke, huh? What do you call CNN's poll showing double digit increase in approval for Obama's plan as a result of speech while saying this on their own site: "18% of respondents who participated in tonight's survey identified themselves as Republicans, 45%... as Democrats, and 37%...as Independents." A bit skewed, no? Lock step my asp! MSNBC, NBC, NYT, LAT, CNN, CBS, ABC, WP, about 80% of the media is in LOCK STEP with this admin's ideas.

  • Karen - 17 years ago

Wow, so many people are coming from such a place of fear. This bill is not going to give the government "unprecedented control of our lives." Do you like Social Security? Do you like Medicaid and Medicare? Do you like the health care coverage you currently have? Then you'll be able to keep it. Everyone needs to take a deep, collective breath.

  • Karen - 17 years ago

One more thing I want to say...

I am fed up with Obama acting like the professor and lecturing us in his "beautiful speeches." Who does he think he is? Well, we know the answer to that. I am also sick of seeing his face on TV every single day, talking at us. I wish he would sit down at his desk in that great Oval Office and do some heavy lifting. Read the damn health bills being proposed in detail. Then, start spending his time on things that matter the most...protecting our country. Oh, I'm sorry, he can't do that...he is the one who thinks the terrorists and radical Muslims of the world are misunderstood and that we brought it on ourselves.

I just want him to go away or at least stay off the television for a few months. We've seen more of him since his swearing in than we saw of Reagan, Bush I & II, and Clinton all combined...and we're only 8 months into his presidency. If he's on, I just switch channels or turn off the TV now because I can't stand hearing him lecture us one more minute.

He is in love with himself. He is a poster boy for narcisism. He is power hungry. His wife is the dangerous one. She is the radical one and introduced him to her radical friends and chose the church they would attend (remember Rev. Wright?). She's smart. Watch her in the background. She tries to be white by having her hair straightened and spends all those $$$s on her make up and clothes...she loves being rich but condemns all capitalists. What a pair they make. Where is a Jeffersonian when we need one? Our country is in peril.

  • Mike - 17 years ago

Jane, where was your patriotism during 9/11 and post 9/11? Funny, the quit majority is speaking up and all you can do is say what a joke the Fox News poll is...then why are you even interested? Where was the respect for President Bush? The main stream media always lambasted him and ridiculed him for his determination to protect this country. President Obama did nothing to change my mind on this issue, he just helped prove that the plan is vague and weak. It still needs a lot of work, and if you would have read it you can not determine if Illigal residents are covered or not...so to say they are not is a mis-direction until they put specific information in the bill that states they are not covered...which, could be viewed as a lie.

  • Jan - 17 years ago

All President Obama does is present lies, lies and many more lies! He may be the President but this speech was too long, dull and full of the same lies and he said NOTHING to the American People to change their minds about this horrific healthcare system! I was just too happy to hear the Senator that finally called him a liar to his face!!! That is one of the things I wish I could say personally to him, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and the list goes on and on....President Obama lives in a dream world that does not fit in with reality. He is so controlled by political groups that he cannot stand on his own two feet!
He has not said one thing about Van Jones and he said he did not know Bill Ayers, but yet he surrounds himself with radicals! He won't be happy until he turns our America into a communist country! America wake up is all I can say...DO NOT let him take 'YOUR COUNTRY' away!!! Listen to FOXNATION all the way...they are completely fair and balanced...the way it should be and you would all learn a lot if you would just listen and learn the TRUE facts!!!

Why is it ever time you read one of these comment sections, it sound like the liberals, the democrats, or the so called angry republicans who are mad at the party, are all the same guy sitting in some ACORN war room doing damage control on the fox website? All the comments are scripted, the same theme, and play off of each other. The names are not ever creative. All the angry republicans are "Republican XYZ" who supports Obama and angry at the right.

Oh, and all the calls patriotism and support for the president... how many of you were doing that under Bush??? I am willing to be its all the people who went around calling Bush an idiot that want patriotism now from the other side in the face or socialism....

Gov't can't run this progran efficiently. The President refuses to take on the lawyers or provide for interstate competition among private companies.

  • Pauline Stodola - 17 years ago

Obama at his usual, same rhetoric, nothing new, he has no idea how to implement a health program that will be beneficial to the American people, as he does not listen to the American People, only Pelosi and Reed, and they are pro America, why anyone ever listens to liberal TV is amazing as they never report what is accurate, you only get both sides from Fox News.

When he continually looks his nose down at the American people, which he does to anyone who opposes his opinion, then he is taking freedom of speech, ideas, etc. away from the American People, he is a dangerous man and with his Czars, who knows what will happen here in our great Country, whatever he says, is the opposite of what his actions are.

If he had any backbone, he would be doing an intensive investigation into ACORN, but then again, guess they helped him, so why would he?

    Very Scary

  • Brad - 17 years ago

This is for Jane. No respect for the presidency? Non-patriotic? I'm an independent, but you truly show your ignorance with comments like that. Most of the military are Republican or have Republican leanings. Have you served in the military? Are you willing to lay your life on the line to protect the freedoms that we "Thank God" still have? If you support President Obama and most of his policies, you are the one who is non-patriotic. This man is going to be the ruination of America and what many of us have fought so hard to preserve. Talk about robots walking in lockstep. You obviously have no ability to think for yourself. You believe the rhetoric written by men who wish to change America into a Fascist or Communist state that is then regurgitated on a mesmerized public by a talented "Reader". President Obama is a liar, as evidenced by his speech last night. He stood in front of a joint session and boldfaced lied. So much so that one member of congress lost his composure and made a terrible blunder by actually calling the President a liar during his speech. I do not condone that behavior, but understand his consternation. No man, not even the President of the United States of America, should be allowed to spew such prevarications without being challenged in some way, but it should have been handled differently. If you truly wish to live in an ObamaNation, there are plenty of other countries that ascribe to his Marxist views. Venezuela comes to mind for one. You are welcome to leave at any time. If America is so bad, why are people risking their lives trying to get here. Unlike most countries that make it difficult for their citizens to leave, we have to make laws limiting how many may enter. Go figure!

  • Larry - 17 years ago

Obama's plan is laced with holes and promotes unionization of the health care industry so he can pay of the unions for their support by swelling their ranks and filling their bank accounts. The unions will then offload their underfunded pension health care costs to the public option. This coupled with the illegal immigrants added to the roles by Obama granting ammensty will bankrupt this economy. Read the bill it is all their.

  • Karen - 17 years ago

Obama has no qualities remotely close to what a President of the United States of American should possess. He is not the President of all the people. He is the president of those who who worship him and his ideology. He speaks the most disrespectful of Americans who disagree with him than any person who disagrees with him. I do not condone Rep. Wilson's outburst during his speech but I certainly understand the raw emotion that caused it. We are all about at our wits end with this man who parades around as our President. Obama does lie and misconstrue and hide his true agenda, not only on this healthcare debate, but on almost everything. He did it in the campaign and he thinks he can get away with it as our President. Sooner or later someone will find the proof of his dishonest dealings, starting back in Chicago, and we can impeach this imposter. I'm sickened by his arrogance and grasp for unprecedented power. Americans were bamboozled but it's their own fault for believing this man despite all of his proven "friends" or "acquaintances" that he has hung with for years. If we don't impeach him, we better pray that we can hold onto our country as the American of Washington and Jefferson and Adams until we can vote him out in 2012.

    Obama's first 6 months he:
    Offended the Queen of England
Bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia
    Praised the Marxist Daniel Ortega
Kissed Socialist Hugo Chavez on cheek
Endorsed Socialist Evo Morales of Bolivia
Sided with Chavez and Fidel Castro against Honduras.
Gave away billions to AIG without pre-conditions
    Expanded Bailouts

Obama would make a wonderful car salesman. Very smooth in the delivery of others words and thoughts. Now if he just had some of his own that would be nice. People talked about Bush and his lack of communications skills, but at least you felt he was being honest and sincere. Obama reminds me of some people I have worked for, always smiling saying the right things all the while stabbing you in the back.

  • Louanna - 17 years ago

My understanding of the Presidents health program is that it would be similar to the HMO's. They seemed good at first, but the insured soon found out they were limited on coverage, tons of paper work for the doctors office, doctors reimbursed poorly and looking for another insurance plan after the yearly contract due to insurance co. going out of business. The big question is WHERE IS THE MONEY COMING FROM?

  • Jaz - 17 years ago

To all of you screaming, blinded, deaf and deceived liberals who commented here and found any kind of truth in that so called "speech" last night, I'll quote the greatest truth ever written....the Bible. "The foolish will confound the wise." Consider yourself confounded.

    @Arlene
I'm glad you found that wisdom in the bible, because the only ones confounding are right wing nuts in town hall meetings.

I would really like it when people ask themselves, why would Obama lie?
I posted a comment before, going over that and really, theres no reason for him to lie about any of this. The bill won't make him any money, won't make him popular if it doesn't work. It just wouldn't make sense.

The bible also says something about caring for people in need. Inviting those who have no food to eat at your table. But of course that could not be linked to health care, where the well off pay a little more to "feed" the poor.

    Oh well...

The problem is that many of you that say you live by the bible only follow the parts that suit you. I've heard that many opposed to this bill are saying that lazy people will take advantage and live out of our pockets. Thats very convenient to say isn't it? What about the other millions of people that work harder than you do for minimum wage and are not able to provide health care for their families?

If you feel that the entire idea is bad because of the few idiots that feel it's good to live out of our pockets should mean that everyone else can go **** themselves, then you should check yourself. The reason these people are taking advantage is because of a mentality issue. Straighten those people out instead of punishing the ones that deserve our help.

  • Rene - 17 years ago

Do you liberals ever have an independent thought? It's almost as if Obama told you to go jump off a bridge you would. What do you have to say about his Green Czar, Van Jones, admitting that he is a Radical Communist Revolutionary, and he's not the only one in the Administration's Czars. Do you even understand what the proposed health bill means to you and just who do you think is going to pay for it -- you and every one else in this country -- economically and the quality of care. Maybe you should do some research and see how it really goes in Canada and Great Britain.

The more I watch these clowns that are running our country (both sides of the aisle) the more disgusted I get. I am reg republican but will very soon be an independant. The debate over health care has made it very clear to me that the people in DC do not think that Americans have any power and are all stupid people that need to be taken care of. They all have an agenda and it is mostly to gain power, popularity, and money. They are in bed with each other, unions, and special interests to achieve these. They need to get out and in bed with The People of this country before we throw them out. I wished that I could be in DC on Sat but I know people that will be there. 9/12ers show them who has the power. Make us proud!!!

  • Ashley - 17 years ago

Are you kidding? He lied through his teeth. He thinks our current healthcare system is taxing us? Try the bailouts and excessive spending he and Congress are doing. Now there's the truth...

  • April McGraw - 17 years ago

Where do people get off saying this guy (Obama) is a great orator? I recommend they listen to some of Pres. John F. Kennedy's speeches. Most are available on the internet. You won't even recognize Obama as having any talent by listening to just a few. The contrast is remarkable!

Jane, why are you afraid of the democratic process. Robots are those who agree with EVERYTHING that the government throws at them. The beauty of what the founding fathers created was a process where all voices could be heard, where you could disagree with the government, where you could be part of the process. Why are you opposed to this freedom? Are you expecting everyone to blindly agree with the President and the government? How frightening that would be since that is how democracy is lost?

Thanks for the correction. I must admit my Aunt, Father etc. all had Alzehimer's and died and I worry about it too.

However, that does not take away from what is right and what is wrong, a good bill from a bad and pure mean people. I graduated from Duke, sorry.

  • Jim - 17 years ago

HealthCare, Cap and Tax or any other initiative being debated means nothing when compared to our National Security. 8 Years ago we were reminded of the fact that there is pure evil that escapes no one. What is this administration doing to increase our national security, which is the mandate the consitution states. HealthCare is not. While his administration ponders these Ideal scenerios, we are more at risk of attack then ever before. The evil ones know he is not addressing them, so it's just like he is saying to them, "Have At Us" Our relationship with our stongest partner, Israel, is failing and our brave men and women continue to die for our freedoms and protection, and all this administration can think about is Healthcare? Where are the secure borders? Stronger inspections of cargo ships? Right now, I could care less about making sure everyone is insured (and by the way, are we going to turn away Illegal Alliens from the emergency rooms when they need care? Of course not, so they will be covered no matter what the hell he says) I care about the lives of millions of people who have the possibility of being wiped out because this administration is so focused on things that should be WAY DOWN on the priority list.

Pray for our service men and women, as I can assure you that is not something that happens in the White House anymore.

Thomas Jefferson said it best.... "A government big enough to give everything you want, is big enough to TAKE away everything you have" & "I predict future happiness for Americans if they can PREVENT the government from wasting the labors of the pepole under the PRETENSE of taking care of them"

I do believe it is time for the President to start listening to the "We the People" and stop spending our hard earned money towards socialism and then critize us when we disagree with how the governement spends our money. The constitution was founded on "In God We Trust" not Obama care.

This is America We don't Redistrubute Wealth, YOU EARN IT!

America, wake up! Look at the actions not words.

This is your life, this is your country and your place in this world.

Unless we see numbers that add up, until we see the what it means in practical terms, he is not to be beleived!

He is not worthy to be a leader, he is not a leader, and we should make it clear we are not taken by pretty language, finger waving, rhetoric.

  • Theresa Teresavage - 17 years ago

During President Obama's speech last night, not once did I hear him say " I hear you America". He wants so bad to be the one president to get through this particular bill because he wants to be the first to go down in the history books as achieving his goal. It is not enough to be the first black president to be recorded in the history books.

  • Jim - 17 years ago

I agree with Lauren! Obama's speech was just "more of the same", just sugar coated and "reassuring." "Just trust me" should have been the theme of that speech. How many press conferences and speeches and joint sessions of Congress does it take for Americans to realize that Obama clearly is incompetent and has no executive experience!!! He has never run a business, had to make a payroll (I have), etc. It's appalling to think that so many of the American people (and illegal voters, signed up with the help of ACORN) elected this illegal alien to the highest office!

Yes, I'm a proud "birther." It defies common sense and logical sense that we currently don't have some process in which if someone runs for the presidency, they MUST show an ORIGINAL BIRTH CERTIFICATE, not the fake piece of junk Obama claims is his "birth certificate" when in fact, it was only a "Certification of live birth" -- no, a birth certificate shows the doctor who delivered the baby, the time and date of birth and the hospital. Why would Obama spend over $1 million with three different law firms to FIGHT the two dozen (and counting) lawsuits demanding he come up with ORIGINAL birth certificate if he is truly a NATURAL BORN CITIZEN?!? The answer is simple -- he knows he is not. He was born in Mombassa, Kenya and KNOWS it, as does his wife, I'm sure. It's appalling to think that we have a usurper POSING as our president! The man is a liar as well as an illegal alien posing as president! I pray he will be impeached, outed for the fraud that he is, and then criminally prosecuted for falsifying documents he signed attesting to the "fact" that he is a natural born citizen (all IL state law requires of residents running for president. Another thorny issue that should be changed -- why isn't it a FEDERAL requirement that is met?!?). World Net Daily has a lot of info on the Obama birth certificate issue, along with info on Dr. Orly Taitz, DDS and Esquire (lawyer) who is persistently filing motions to have her lawsuit hired. She is a LEGAL immigrant who worked hard to make the life she has in the US. She came from an Eastern European communist country where her parents told her to ignore that way of thinking, to study hard and become something. Don't settle for hand outs. Maybe more Americans should subscribe to this philosophy. IMPEACH OBAMA!

  • Rose - 17 years ago

This goes much deeper than healthcare reform. This President wants to destruct and dismantle a very powerful country and put another face on it. His belief is shaping up this way: This country should not be a leader, just another so-so place in which to live. And, because we are so mean, we need to be punished for our crimes against humanity. I have seen real radicals since the 1960's...although driven underground to work in our schools...they have now reemerged. This President has brought chaos into our lives. It will not stop. This President is a far-left radical and that will never change.

Jane is one of those that will project her own behaviors on others. Because she does in fact walk lockstep behind Pelosi, Obama, and their ilk it stands to reason in her mind that anyone that doesnt agree with them is in lockstep with those that she considers "the enemy". Personally, in the last 20 years that ive been voting not one of the people i voted for president has won. But thats ok, at least i vote with my mind and heart and what i believe is the way we need to go. People like Jane cannot take responsibility for their own lives or even their own minds and that is why they have to look to the Democrat Party Line to find out where they stand. They cannot think for themselves nor do they want to. It takes a great deal of intestinal fortitude to go against Obama nowadays, ive found that out via my own friends who happen to be predominantly liberal. It saddens me but i refuse to cut them off as friends not to mention they afford me to NOT be in an Echo Chamber. Every Obama supporter it seems instantly resorts to insults instead of facts or even a decent rebuttal of what anyone that speaks against him. You are instantly labeled a racist, ignorant, redneck, dittohead, etc. Not simply someone that disagrees, but someone that they deem doesnt think because you dont concede to Obama's every whim simply because he is the first black president. Its truly sad and i almost feel sorry for these people, but i just cant feel that much pity for people that are willfully ignorant. At least those that disagree try to listen to the other side as painful as it is.

The Presidents speach left me feeling more ill then before. One Senator shouted out your lier...this was not cool but honest. I have to say, at least the Senator is being honest unlike most politicians. I believe we need Insurance and Pharmacutical Company reform. Why can RX companies advertise when Cigarette and Alcohol companies cannot. Isn't RX drug abuse on the rise? Isn't this why the Alcohol and Cigarette companies had to stop advertising. What has our Nation become. I bet if we had some insurance reform and we could cross the state lines to purchase health insurance our premiums would go down. Why is it that illegal immigrants get to use our welfair system? Please don't tell me that they do not...I worked in the Medical field and believe me they use our welfair system. Obama needs to listen to the American people or maybe we need to impeach him.

Thank you Fox Network for not letting the Obama administration buy you out...I refuse to listen to NBC.

The President is a Master Orator for sure, but he just doesn't get it. A small majority, by last count around 52% of Americans, simply dont want what he is pushing. We don't want Big Government intrusion in our lives or in our healthcare decisions. I agree that healthcare in this country needs much improvement, but we still have the best healthcare in the world even with the problems of high cost, etc. Mr President, wake up and smell the coffee!

  • Dying Breed - ModerateMan - 17 years ago

I've read a few posts from folks indicating the way Fox posed the polling question is tricky. Actually it really is not. It goes back to my previous post about unfortunately how one-sided the news channel has become. The question is posed to the current VAST majority of viewers that are anti Democratic and even more so anti Obama. So 99% of the folks viewing and answering the poll KNOW the question means: Did Obama change your mind from not supporting Reform? Again, I really enjoyed Fox News before . .. .now it is just too much Obama/Democratic derogatory rhetoric. Not that MSNBC is any better with their liberal bent . . .. . . but they do seem to do a better job with actually respectfully discussing issues with Republican guests. Note . . .I said better job . . . not GREAT job:)

  • Randy Wyles - 17 years ago

As I said in my Op/Ed this morning on Special Ops and News.com - Most people didn't buy it before the "snake oil salesman" speech and most still don't. People have so little respect for Obama that at least one member of Congress finally did what millions of Americans were doing last night from the homes - heckling the Joker.

I don't think Rep. Joe Wilson of South Carolina should have apologized for anything. Members of British Parliament heckle the Prime Minister during "Questions to the Prime Minister" every week...and that's a civilized country. Interesting how liberals don't think Wilson should have adopted the British Parliament style of heckling - while they're in favor of embracing the British style form of health care - which only works if you don't get sick.

  • Molly the Mobster - 17 years ago

Nobody is for no reform. People should not be dropped when sick, no preexisting conditions should be excluded, but the costs can not be unreasonable too. The freedom of people should be a factor.

We have asked for reforms. Someone just starting work should be able to get health care plans that build assets to be used when older.

Competition should exist over state lines.

Tort reform needs to be in the bill.

Medicare should not be cut as people paid in for 40+ years. Would be an example of government single payer in the future that would cut care.

This bill is a terrible bill and should be thrown out and we should start over with compromise.

If anyone votes for it along with any more spending they should be voted out in 2010 as they are not Americans for America and the people.

If I didn't know better I would say Obama and the Congress are trying to destroy America.

Yes, we’re fox supporters because at least Fox give us the opportunity to listen to us no matter if we’re Dem or Rep. Fox answers questions and we feel that we have the freedom of speech that we deserve!! I have tried to post questions on the others networks but I always get a message saying “my post is waiting for screening” and they never post anything that I ask or say…why? Because they are bias, but Fox listen to you and me and post what it’s in your mind. So, I stopped watching other networks because they do not offer facts just idolism to one party only; instead Fox provides you with facts and debate an issue providing support to who deserve it!!

THANK YOU FOX...YOU'RE THE BEST OF THE BEST!!!

You are the problem. You are 53 and more prone to a large illness, cancer or heart disease than most. Your lack of insurance will sooner or later have the rest of us "scraping up" some $$ to take care of you. There is no way you'll take care of yourself when this happens. No one goes through life without getting sick and/or dying. Eventually it gets us all. I do NOT wnat to pay for you, but when you show up at the emergency room in full defib and you get a bill for 15K what do you plan on doing?

  • Patriot - 17 years ago

Admit it, even he had an idea that you liked, you'd oppose it. Patriots love this country - and this country is made up of citizens - if you really want to call yourself a "patriot" - do what's right for your countrymen - not what lines the pockets of big business and increases Rush's advertising market! - Wake up!

  • Amanda - 17 years ago

    Brad Cook:

I beg to differ. Look at the Scandanavian countries. They have socialist ideas and economically they are in the top wealthies countries. America is slacking in education, health care, and so on which is leading to our lagging behind other nations. Ever since net scape was introduced to society, we have deteriotated significantly. If we don't do something about our health care and increase our education, we will fail as a nation. This is why health care is such a huge issue with Obama. He wants America to succeed and technically he does not want America to become a socialist nation because it is not the American way!

  • Brian - 17 years ago

Wow, I wonder if Rush limbaugh is a producer on Foxnews. It would definitely explain the total lack of staying neutral and being as far to the Right as a news network could possibly be. Instead of going out and telling people what the other party is doing wrong, how bout show some bipartisianship and compromise!!!

You have my sympathy!

  • Lauren - 17 years ago

Thank you Rep. Joe Wilson, R-SC, for stating what MOST American have known all along -- OBAMA LIES NEARLY EVERY TIME HE OPENS HIS MOUTH!

Obama knows that ILEGALS are covered in HR 3200 as there is NOT specific language in the bill, which is key, to PREVENT illegals from getting health coverage under this bill. It's all a sham -- the Democrats are the biggest lying hypocrites and the far left socialist nutjobs in charge right now, have done everything they can to deter, derail, etc. efforts by more reasonable thinking legislators (Republicans) to add an AMENDMENT to this bill that specifically DENIES health coverage to illegals!

Obama, et. al, have delayed implementing Bush's executive order to require that all federal contractors to implement E-Verify, that would virtually overnight eliminate ILLEGALS from gaining or keeping employment in the US by using fake ss#'s and id's! It's insane that more Americans aren't outraged by this! Greedy employers are exploiting those illegals, whom I do understand want a better life, but so do the 23 million unskilled American workers they're taking jobs away from, in addition to lowering wages!

I just left a very well known restaurant chain as a server and overheard the owner talking with the ILLEGAL MEXICAN kitchen workers about their ID's and SS cards. He said, "Where'd you get this, the flea market up in ________?" So, he KNOWS he is hiring illegals and in the eyes of the community this is a very respected man and I think it is UNAMERICAN that he is aiding and abetting ILLEGALS because of his greed! He works those people from 10 am to sometimes 10-11 pm. So, in addition to screwing American workers, he's abusing the illegals -- not cool.

Please get involved. Check out: www.numbersusa.com, www.wehirealiens.com Call ICE to report employers who hire illegals and the illegals working there: 1-866-347-2423 You may do so anonymously. Until Americans get ticked off enough, the liberal idiots are going to try and ram their socialist agenda down our throats. And one last thing, to the Obamabot kool aid drinkers who are 99.9% of the time illinformed, uninformed, or completely in the dark, you should read a little more, and stop watching Keith Olbermann, CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, etc. NONE of those networks covered the story on Obama's "czar" appointee Van Jones who recently resigned, thanks largely to the efforts of Glenn Beck ringing the alarm on this very dangerous man, who is a SELF AVOWED COMMUNIST?SOCIALIST?MARXIST! He is shown on tape saying these things. And, he's another person of color, hate whitey, RACIST! So much for the kumbaya, let's all come together bullcrap that Obama ran on. I knew it was all a lie then and know it now. Your country has been hijacked by far, far leftist radicals who are hellbent on bankrupting this country (literally) and then "building it back up" on SOCIALIST PRINCIPLES!!! WAKE THE HELL UP AMERICA!!!

He is scared and trying to stop us from marching on washington. as for insurance i was having trouble hearing in both ears, went to the doctor and sure enough thew both were stoped up. He cleaned them out in 2 minutes... since i didn't have insurance the charge was $25.00 ...then a week later my husband felt he had the same problem, and sure enough 1 ear was clogged same thing 2 min. and done. But this time my husband had insurance, medicare. when the bill came for him, they charged him $176.00 try it yourself. i used to be democrate when i was young, then i voted republican once, now i belong to the constitutional party.

It's convenient for you to say that any disagreement with Barack Obama is disrespectful or republicans "walking in lockstep" ... but it's also ignorant and shows YOU are the one with the closed views.
