I would just like to say that Hannity, Beck and O'Reilly are COMMENTATORS not news reporters. Their shows discuss news but are not THE news, just like liberal counterparts like Jon Stewart.
By the way, we need crazies on both sides to come to a middle.

Not on my watch.
Obama is a liar, a racist, a divider, and no leader. All those in Congress were paid to be there by us. Our small communities are struggleing to keep parks and playgrounds open. To buy uniforms for our schools. And all of these congress gather stand up when o talks, and they make sure the money goes to special interest groups. I say get rid of the entire government and start over by state to state Are you listening politicians? There is a new statement out in America... We want Ameerica back and we aren't payingfor pork. Obama wants this to pass because it would be worth billions of dollars

Aaron,
I understand your confusion, however, I don't think that people are being "bamboozled" into thinking our healthcare is great. I haven't heard a single educated person argue that. Point being, only UNeducated people are saying that. You have to learn to pick your battles.
And about your previous "moderate" status... I don't think it was very sound if a few frustrated Republicans shattered it into liberalism.

OMg Health Care dont need to be fixed? People are so stupid! We got Doctors Nurses and 40 million uninsured Americans suffering because of the current Health Care system. America needs health care reform. I just thank god Obama is running the show and not the dumb George Bush. And those that say Obama is not a citizen are the same people that voted for George Bush twice and still think that we needed to invade Iraq. Stop being hateful and racist towards Obama and start arguing the real issues.

We have a great healthcare system that just needs some tweeks not a overhaul to be like some systems that are proven failures. Hard to believe that many posters on here are still spouting the old "We have the best health care system in the world" crap. Have any of you bothered to see where the U.S. ranks in the World Health Organizations rankings for the industrialized world? We rank a pitiful 37th!! 37th!! Absolutely disgraceful for this country to rank below places like Costa Rica in health care quality. We don't do any better in life expectancy either. Get a grip, folks. Who's being bamboozled??
Robert - 17 years ago
Julie,
this is exactly the "scare tactics" that drove Obama to speak last night.
He said it twice, "This plan will not cause you to change insurance or doctors".
Government is not going to be running hospitals. Goverment IS going to be holding insurance companies accountable.
Accountable to not drop people when they need the coverage, to not deny people on pre-existing conditions, to not raise rates unfairly.
I, however, can absolutely 100% agree with you that some of those government ran facilities for our veterans are ridiculously appauling. Our veterans should be thrown on pedestals for what they endure protecting all of us and the treatment I've seen them get is maddening.
People should be forced into insurance the same reason we are all forced to pay social security. At one point in ones life everyone is going to need healthcare, or they will know someone they care about that needs it. It affects ALL americans. You gave a perfect reason why "healthy" people need insurance. because when you healthy folks don't have it, and then end up in the emergency room, we all end up paying for you through reduced taxation b/c hospitals had to WRITE OFF your fees that you didn't or couldn't pay.
There is NOTHING good about having to negociate down prices. Why should a doctor have to take less for his valuable services b/c you didn't have the money? or Because you were "healthy"" and thought you didn't need insurance?
Take the blinders off Julie, we are the wealthiest "republic" and are ranked 38th in the world for health care. 38th!! We can do better than this. We as americans deserve better than that.

I had to comment on the two goof balls in the background, Biden and Pelosi. All the brilliant people in the US and we have to look at these two ignorant people! The President certainly doesn't have to worry about being overshadowed by Biden. Everytime I hear Joe Biden he sounds like a spoof of himself from Saturday Night Live. He doesn't have the finess I would expect of the Vice President. And Pelosi never seems to keep up on the news. Either that or she is being updated by someone who isn't hearing the full story because she appears to be uninformed. Hilary would have made a better Speaker of the House. At least she gets her facts straight and doesn't act like she is the queen, all powerful. She is just a puppet.

I thought your comment about being a class act was an ironical joke seeing as you are name calling and whatnot. Speaking of education, maybe you should look into things a little, and if you don't want to work that hard listen to the President who even said that many Republicans have plans on the table or interesting ideas to add to what has already been proposed. There are Republican healthcare ideas out there but they haven't been spread by the majority of liberal media. Where's your head? You forgot to think before you spoke, if you even have that capacity.

I'm tired of being frightened of our own government and their constant meddling in our daily lives. It just is not right. Had a small business, had is the key word, taxes and the housing bust put us out of business. We employed 3, now they are looking for work, we are too. The democrat congress in the last 4 years of Bush worked against the president and the people, that first posting by Jane is a hoot, too bad she wasn't saying the same thing during the last four years. I am an independent, neither party does what they say they will. I say throw them all out and put in folks from the great unwashed and unheard of this country. Robert,
Fact check I am not 20 years old anymore, I am out of college, out of the military and working for a company who currently offers health care. When I was young and in college, I didn't need it. I also was stationed in two countries who had nationalized health care and it was the pits, even though I was in the military. Obama has not written one single sentence on health care. He left that up to Pelosie and the other in Congress. Why should be people be forced into system they don't want to be in and then fined if they don't. READ THE BILL.

We have the best health care in the world, we need to fix what is broken with it not let the government take it over.

Robert - 17 years ago
shif,
Ok, so lets just go with the "we are a republic and not a democracy" statement from you. What exactly is your point in regards to healthcare?
TO Perseus23 who wrote: "If Healthcare so great why are many Senior Citizens getting there Prescription Medicine from Canada? And why many Americans are going to third World Countries to have life threatening surgery? And if Healthcare system is so great why are the taxpayers paying the Hospital bill for 40 million Americans and illegal immigrants that dont have Health insurance? "
1. Seniors go to Canada for prescriptions because the cost is less. This tells me that their should be some control over the drug companys.... not us.
2. People that go to other countries from America to have surgeries are going because what they want has not been approved here. Our country, unlike others has a system in place that calls for testing etc... to ensure that procedures, treatments and medications are safe.
3. If you believe that you will not pay for the unisured you are sadly mistaken. Think for one moment... medical care is expensive, right? How will those unisured be paid for? By cutting out the waste and fraud in Medicare (as the President noted)? If there is that much waste and fraud in Medicare we are in real trouble. There will be ways you will pay for it... if not in direct taxation then in higher prices for other things because the government will have to get the money from "other sources".
and BTW since when are illegal aliens (they are NOT immigrants) entitled to health insurance in this country?
Julie - 17 years ago
Robert,
Why don't you take the time to visit a VA, government run, hospital sometime and see just how deplorable the conditions are. This is what Obama is trying to cram down the throats of the American people. There are other proposed options out there that won't cost a thing. Negotiated prices for health care for those without is also a good thing, whether you want to believe it or not. There are young people who are healthy, in school and just don't want health care. Why should they be forced into it? Read the proposed bill, visit a VA hospital, live in a country with socialized medicine and then come back and tell me how great Obamacare will be. I have and I guarantee if you get out of your house, so some reading and stop believing the lies of this President you will change your tune.

Dear American people, Don't be fooled! Even if your nature is to give him the benefit of the doubt, DON'T ! Our President speaks with a 'forked tongue.'
LISTEN! Be Cautious! He has a plan! It is a one world govt. that is the final goal. Mr
Obama has an agenda. The agenda doesn't benefit you! IF HE gets this healthcare through,, this will be all he needs to do more and more. Whatever he says, the opposite takes place. He and His wants all people to be the same. But that don't necessarily mean 'good.' That doesn't include the 'elites'.. It goes deeper then that. If it all sounds unbelivable, I understand. And it is happening and being unfolded right before us. I say , don't give in. Stand up for your Freedoms and your Rights!
DL - 17 years ago
Good speech, very clear. I am not against a public option that is funded by premiums and not taxes, the same way private companies are. If the private companies don't bring the costs down on their own so the people can actually afford it (fat chance of that) then this public option might be good. What's a little competition between companies? As the president said, the public colleges have not put the private colleges out of business. And if the government plan fails, then it will close up shop like any other failed business. I don't see the problem here. If it works well and is successful, then it will be awarded with more business just like any other company, and taxpayers will not be paying for it - that is key.
Robert - 17 years ago
Julie,
My understanding is that this is a bill that the white house crafted in attempt to bring everyone aboard. How can he be lieing to everyone when we will all expect to see exactly what he has outlined? Did you see how many times both Republicans and Democrats stood up last night? He has everyone in congress and the house snowed? That doesn't make sense.
And yes, note the core prinicpal here of this reform, "Affordable health care". I don't want you uninsured at 20 years old, and you shouldn't want that for yourself either because things happen that you don't expect, as was the case with your emergency visit. Your healthcare should be affordable for you and I and I shouldn't have to see our government get less in taxes because you couldn't afford health insurance and the hospital had to write off what you couldn't pay.

Your original post said we were a democracy. Even most public school educated Americans know we are not.
By the definition you posted for a republic.
Republic:
political system with elected representatives:
a political system or form of government in which people elect representatives to exercise power for them
Yes, we are not supposed to be a true republic, we are supposed to be a Constitutional Republic. Where our elected representatives are given limited power.
but since both the democrats and republicans have trashed the constitution (usurped more power than granted) we are a republic.
But if you read your post your definition of republic is closer to what our founding fathers wanted for us.

The President is trying to ram through health care reform without getting all the parties involved. He needs to bring together the insurance companies, drug companies, AMA, congress and the American citizens to hammer out a solution. Health care reform will only work if everyone has input. The Constitution which in the basis for our counties governing is a short document, why can't the health care reform be a swhort and concise document that everyone can read and inderstand.

Terrific speech, marred only by the stone-faced, infantile Republicans waving their "memo" (which is what it was, as they have produced no plan.) As a moderate, I am now so thoroughly turned off by the Republican Party that I can hardly stand to look at most of them. Appeals to compassion, morality and basic common decency are totally lost on them.
Kudos to Obama...and forget the Republicans. They do not deserve to even be in the same room with someone of your caliber.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who disagrees with "Jane." The polls are skewed on any website, tv show, news program etc because the people voting tend to pay attention to the outlet in which they are voting. I don't think Fox viewers are hate-mongers by any means. I have to say that the reporting, get this REPORTING, programs on Fox are more bipartisan than any other I have seen. I don't hate the other side of the isle Jane, I just want to hear another perspective. And if you feel that this poll is something to argue about then tell me why you think the President's speech gave you such a change of heart? Or did it.... If you already agreed with his plan then your answer is still No, isn't it?

I tried to listen, but he did not say anything different than before, except when he sort of scolded us for not listening to him, I felt like big brother was mad because I did not agree with him. I thought the high point of the speech was when he was called a liar. I know that it is bad to call someone a liar, but most of the American people are really thinking the same thing and the democrats did say during the campagin that the Bush Administration mislead the American people (nice way of calling a President a liar), so for any person to pretend to be offended at that ourburst would really be a liar (hear that pelosi and biden, you did it during the campagin except it was in an underhanded way and then if you called President Bush a liar you would have to say that everyone in the congress and senate was a liar who voted to go to Iraqi and that includes you both). He did not change my mind in fact I am even more upset at the President than before, because in a way he was telling the American people that either you do it my way or else. Well we gave you this job and we the people can take it away from you just as fast.
jamie - 17 years ago
I love how people indoctrinated in the main stream media think they know something when they really base their opinions on a belief that the news they get is unbiased or well researched.
Here's a test to those who believe Fox news is biased: How many other news outlets were acting like the watchdogs that journalists are supposed to be when it comes to Van Jones? Check into it, actually do some research, and you will see your vaulted ABC, CBS, New York Times and the like said nothing about him until just recently or until he resigned and then never bothered to point out that the man was a self-proclaimed Communist!
Now that's about as un-American and un-patriotic as it gets yet none of these other news media bothered to do their due diligence (even though the information was but a google search away). So if you are getting and basing your opinions on these sources, you are relying on people who either can't do the job they profess to do or are purposely hiding information they have from you to push an agenda. Either way that is not a trustworthy source in my book.
Robert - 17 years ago
shif,
You say that everyone you know gets to go into a hospital and renegociate the price they pay.
And do you think that is a positive factor in our current health care system?
In fact what happens is hospitals write these costs off, lowering taxes.
So we end up paying for all your friends as they enjoy their write-offs.
This is the point. Bring everyone into the health care system, have everyone pay there bit, so we all enjoy solid, great service when/if we get sick.

Hey Robert,
I do have current health insurance, I just didn't think I needed it when I was in my early 20's, and in college, hence why I didn't have it. Have you actually read the bill they have put, I have, Obama hasn't, which is why he is lying about my keeping my health care. I will not be able to keep my current health, if they decide to change anything in my health care, or I move to another job. Read the bill. I don't care what Obama says, he has you snowed. By the way the $2,000, I paid over three years, so you do the math on that one, because I didn't have the money.

The President sounded like an insurance salesman, not a President and for that matter not a good insurance salesman.
He could not tell me what the benefits were and cost. I'm reminded of the old adage, "This policy will cover you if you jump off a ten story building, we got you all the way down, but when you hit the ground (bottom) your on your own.
Another comparison would be the "snake oil saleman we have seen many times on old black and white movies."
If this speech moves congress to move forward, then Snake Oil Medical Service or benefits is what we will be getting.

The question is, when our country is almost bankrupt, why would we incur more debt? It makes as much sense as spending every penny in our purse and sending everyone in the Country a check for a year's salary? Say $65,000 plus bonus! For our country to spend the amount for mandatory national health care for everyone - any amount is absurd! It’s simple accounting: when your checkbook has a negative balance you stop spending and fix the negative. Some people in Washington obviously think if you still have checks in your checkbook, there must be lots of money? Wake up!!
I love my country and want it to survive. We have to stop this reckless spending!

No doubt the speech was great rhetoric. There is still much work to do, however I think clarity was achieved. If you have healthcare, nothing will change..
If you have a pre-existing condition, you won't be penalized for it.. We do have too many uninsured and everyone agrees that this needs to be addresed. Healthcare issues are certainly not new as they have been debated for almost 100 years. It's a shame that we are so politically polarized that we can't reach a mature decision.. How about we all get access to the same plan that members of Congress enjoy ? There would be no debate, only shame for not giving us access...

I listened. I listened to the portion about what the president plans to do if he thinks someone is lying abuout the plan. How can a president use the words "we will call you out"? Who is the "we" in that sentence? How will the person allegedly spreading the lie about the plan be "called out"? What power or force will be brought to bear? And who will decide whether the comment is a "lie" or an exercise in good faith discussion and dissent?
He is lying again. And to Jane....she is the robot.
Robert - 17 years ago
Julie,
When you went to the emergency room and required 7,000.00 in services and only paid 2,000.00, who do you think had to cover the missing cost?
This is the problem with our current system. If you can afford to pay 2,000.00 in bills, then you should be able to afford basic health insurance, which is the point.
Obama said it twice last night, "You do not need to change your doctor or your insurance"
That means this concept of "nationalized health care" just flew out the window, it's not real. What is real is that we need to restructure our health care system inside of its current framework to better support Americans.
You say that you think its great that you live in our current system. Also realize if nothing changes with our current system, it can bankrupt america. That's not propoganda, that's the truth.

OBAMACARE & ILLEGAL ALIENS – ON THE HORNS OF A DILEMA
. Last night in his “state of health care” speech to Congress, Obama dropped the number of “current uninsureds” that will be covered under obamacare from 47 to 30 million . He did this to try and eliminate the 17 million illegal aliens contained in the original 47 million number he had been using. He now vehemently denies that illegal aliens will be given health insurance under his plan.
. He admits that everyone does now receive healthcare, even the some 47 million people that are uninsured. According to obama, they just get their health care by going through the inefficient emergency room system which he wants to change by giving them insurance. But, since he now says the 17 million illegal aliens will not receive health insurance, this means this 17 million people (approximate 1/3rd+ of all uninsureds) will continue to use the emergency room system.
. He says obamacare will not cost us a thing since it will be paid for by the savings realized by making the system more efficient. How can the system be made more efficient if it will still contain the 17 million illegal aliens who not get insurance and will, instead, continue to receive their health care via the emergency room system. Won’t this in fact insure that the health care system remains costly and inefficient.

WE THE PEOPLE
DO NOT CONSENT;
To 9 trillion dollars in debt,
Socialism
Communism
Reverse discrimination / Black Panther Racism
Illegal aliens free healthcare, free public schools/free breakfasts/lunches,
Redistribution of our hard earned taxes.
How about....
Tort reform, reduce defensive medicine pratices, no healthcare for illegal aliens, positive / legal identification required to be seen by a doctor.....
Democrats are going to lose seats at the 2010 midterms in a very BIG way.

@ Marty - - I hope you remain a fit 28 year old (and beyond) but should you find yourslef being "fit", actively running and eating healthy but still end up with an illness... say CANCER, who do you expect to pay for your surgery and months of chemotherapy when you "opt" to not buy insurance?
I too was a healthy "fit" individual who now has thousands of dollars in medical expenses...... wish I would have 'opted' to buy insurance or better yet - make it a law that you have to have it because I wouldn't be in the financial mess I'm in now.
KA - 17 years ago
To our government officials...why don't you put Healthcare and Cap & Trade aside until a later date and focus on JOBS. I believe most would rather work and buy their own healthcare instead of having no option but government healthcare. Maybe it's all part of their plan. Americans out of work...no money...no other choice.
Vince - 17 years ago
It's rather simple. It's all about power, money and politics. It has nothing to do with Health Care. Health Care is just the vehicle being used. The Dems want to continue to create an enabling society so they can stay in power and fill their pockets. The Republicans are no better when they are in power. This Country is Starving for a 3rd Party who IS FOR THE PEOPLE.
Robert - 17 years ago
shif,
We are not a democracy, we are a republic?
Well, we are both actually. From an American dictionary, here are the definitions:
Democracy;
free and equal representation of people
a country with a government that has been elected freely and equally by all its citizens
Republic:
political system with elected representatives:
a political system or form of government in which people elect representatives to exercise power for them
This is not the debate, although I agree that we are a republic and a democracy.
Illegal aliens? Do you think that's a strong point with our current system? I don't think so. In fact, requiring everyone to get insurance like we do auto insurance helps with the cost b/c now more people will be paying into the system.
At the end of the day illegal aliens is a break down in our immigration policy and is NOT either cured or represented by the state of the health care that we AMERICANS support for ourselves.

HAHA This poll is a joke. Anyone who reads Fox news (propaganda) for any reason other than a good laugh is probably not going to change their mind. I wonder how accurate my breakdown of fox news viewers is.... haha

10% preachers
40% uneducated Christians who don't have rational views about politics
20% people who have more money than they could ever spend

I saw, for the first time, last night something I thought I'd never see as the descendant of a Washington Insider family. I saw the President of the United States threaten the people that elected him. "If you misrepresent this plan, we'll call you out!" Never once was I ever to tell my US History or Government students about the tyranny of a US President threatening the members of another branch of our tripartite power structure!
I would also like to know how liberalism is "progressive"? If one speaks to the "progressive" nature of Theodore Roosevelt, then one might say that working for the rights of the American citizen would be progressive. For in denying big bureaucratic companies of the right to abuse their employees is a move in the right direction for letting the American people the rights of "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness." Today's modern Marxist liberal is no where near the so-called liberalism of the 30's 40's, 50's and 1960's.
One of my cousins is a local Congressman from my home state. He is considered one of the so-called Blue Dogs even though he's quite liberal.
However, he has not forgotten the "servant" in public servant and has been opposed to the current Pelosi debacle before the Congress now.
The treacherous people of MSNBC also lied about Fox News last night when little Willie Geist accused you guys of not broadcasting the speech. I didn't watch much of the speech and didn't need to. Bret Baier was on nearly three hours after his normally scheduled time.
I wholeheartedly applaud Congressman Wilson for his truth telling in the House last night.
Julie - 17 years ago
Hey Robert,
We are the only country without nationalized healthcare and that is great. I lived in a country for three years with nationalized healthcare and their system of healthcare is the worst. Ours by far out does theirs. When I didn't have health care, I had to go to the emergency room in this country, I was not denied service, nor was I made to pay the entire $7.000 bill. I worked it out with the hospital to pay $2.000 and they allowed me to set up a payment I could afford. That did not happen when I had to deal with a nationalized health care system.
There are other good options being offered and being in the legal profession, tort reform is a good place to start, along with tax credits to get health care, and allowing people to get health care from insurance companies across state lines. Our government won't allow that though, thus creating a lack of competition. The VA, which is government run health care is the worst as well. What makes you think they can run an entire health care system. They can't. Stop believing they will make your lives better, they don't care about you. What has he done for the economy, seems to me unemployment is still rising, there is a lack of consumer spending, housing prices are still falling. Didn't he say he was going to fix that as well?
Nikki17 - 17 years ago
Will the Government running healthcare be any different than what we see at VA Hospitals?
My dad was in one. Not only were they considerably understaffed, but the conditions were deplorable.
Is this what we want? Heck no!
We would be daft to allow them to run 1/6 of the US economy.
Obama & Friends ruined enough with that stimulus package.
TO DARRIN who said "People who watch this channel are no different from those following people like Chavez or the president of Iran. It does not matter how wrong they are, they will still do what their leader says."
Uh I think you need to chose a different comparison... as Obama's Federal Communications Commission Diversity Czar Mark Lloyd seems to be a fan of Chavez.... google Mark Lloyd, Darrin....
If you're going to support something, or someone, maybe you better make sure you know what you are supporting.

sadly, a President who states to stop with the scare tactics only gives one himself at the end of his speech. How fitting. The real funny thing about all this is the fact the guy is trying to paint himself as middle of the road when every ounce of his body is so friggin far left that it's almost laughable to hear him speak as if he's for the average person. He created this albatross, so let him sink with it. He's lost me on it - I am not buying it at all and I am trying to be nice about it here. One thing I will say - those tax dollars paying for Madame Peloisi botox shots are getting their money's worth. Did her face even move once during the speech? I mean outside of her whipping her head around when the dufus dude shouted "you lie!", did it ever move? he just won't win this battle. Sorry, move on to the elections already.

Hey Republican mom,
I am a veteran and he is not my President. Wilson, while the timing may have been inappropriate, spoke from what was in his heart and the heart of many Americans. This President is a liar and his lies keep getting bigger and bigger. Wake up and smell the coffee. Those who remember Jimmy Carter, know this guy is much worse. Those of us from South of Chicago in Illinois, know this guy is a lying waste of a human being with no experience. He ran on fixing the ecomony and so far, seems to me his little campaign promise of doing that has not been done.
katekody - 17 years ago
Who would ever believe what he says. Remember all the promises he made and hasn't kept. Look at all his buddies he hired on to be his aids. he has surrounded himself with crooks ... he is a typical chicago politican and he's in bed with the main stream media who lables those of us who do not agree with the plan obama and his cronies have cooked up as unamerican, etc., etc., etc. obama will go down in history the president who bankrupt America .
I would never believe a word he says... he continues to talk out of both sides of his mouth. look at what he's done to America in the past 200 days.

It is a pathetic day when our President "calls out" (threatens!) those who are in dissension and who can not tell the truth if his own life depended on it! "You Lie" is the label that fits this President! READ THE BILL MR. PRESIDENT!!!!! Rep. Wilson THANK YOU! Mr. President STOP doing what you and your party are accusing the Republicans of!

I liked the idea that insurance companies would have to compete, generating a "market" feel to the industry. I also liked that President Obama wants to regulate some of the insane policies insurance companies have gotten away with so far (not covering people because of preexisting conditions, etc.). I do not want a public option, and I do not want Pelosi anywhere near my healthcare. I did not hear anything new, and I was most disappointed when President Obama resurrected Senator Kennedy's healthcare views. So cheap. That's when I stopped listening.
Robert - 17 years ago
Your simply acting unamerican if you think it's OK for fellow citizens to be left without basic healthcare. I don't believe that everyone should get a free ride, and, the plan that was presented backs that position.
I hope those that are enjoying their health and do have a job don't experience WHY this is necessary. But, sometimes that's the only way ignorance can be broken, by self experience.
You won't go broke if you get sick.
You can't be dumped if your health turns for the worst.
You can't be dumped in the middle of treatment.
If your job situation changes, you'll be protected.
Insurance companies can't refuse you on pre-existing conditions.
Compeditive plans for small business by pooling people together (just as large companies do)
A not-for-profit insurance company that can sell directly to the american people to ensure compeditive rates with all the for-profit insurance companies.
This is Obama's plan. How can you not be for that? Because litterally handful of people may get free insurance b/c of a public option? Your talking about American lives here, not cars or trucks.
WE ARE THE ONLY WEALTHY DEMOCRATIC NATION THAT ALLOWS OUR OWN PEOPLE TO GO WITHOUT BASIC HEALTHCARE.
At the end of the day, are you really proud of that?

I still don't know if HR3200 is the bill he is supporting or if a new bill will be drafted. Has anything changed?
And I am tired of the slams made by those supporting the bill..... instead of trying to come up with clever putdowns why not state your reasons for supporting the bill.... intelligent debate is what is needed. My 12 year grandchild can put her ideas forth in a more mature manner than many of the people on these posts.

He did apologize, the president still has not. His apology was public btw.

This President is a pathelogical liar. Every word he said were nothing but bits and pieces of his other 27 lie filled speeches. He makes me sick to my stomach everytime I see his lying face on the television or hear him on the radio. I cannot wait until we get a Republican President back in, get Pelosi out of the house, and turn this country around. Nothing but a bunch of radical lying idiots running the executive and legislative branches.

Retired Air Force, that was my President too! I agree with your comments. It was not good for my kids to see Cantor twittering because we consider that rude. I will not allow those programs plus some Stuart guy to be shown on my tv. They are rude to guest, talk over them, don't let them answer questions and try to tear this country apart.

I would just like to say that Hannity, Beck and O'Reilly are COMMENTATORS not news reporters. Their shows discuss news but are not THE news, just like liberal counterparts like Jon Stewart.
By the way, we need crazies on both sides to come to a middle.
To Robert:
Another brainwashed liberal, government ran healthcare is a moronic plan. Look at Canada, England and others. Ofcourse I'm wasting my breath talking to a supporter of the "Obama God".
Stick to the subject. Do you want gov. run healthcare at any level or not?
Not on my watch.
Obama is a liar, a racist, a divider, and no leader. All those in Congress were paid to be there by us. Our small communities are struggleing to keep parks and playgrounds open. To buy uniforms for our schools. And all of these congress gather stand up when o talks, and they make sure the money goes to special interest groups. I say get rid of the entire government and start over by state to state Are you listening politicians? There is a new statement out in America... We want Ameerica back and we aren't payingfor pork. Obama wants this to pass because it would be worth billions of dollars
and another step to dismantle America. He didn't teach Alinsky's radical rules for nothing, that is how him and thugs operate.
Aaron,
I understand your confusion, however, I don't think that people are being "bamboozled" into thinking our healthcare is great. I haven't heard a single educated person argue that. Point being, only UNeducated people are saying that. You have to learn to pick your battles.
And about your previous "moderate" status... I don't think it was very sound if a few frustrated Republicans shattered it into liberalism.
Same old crap once more. I would still like to know how he plans on paying for all of this. If he can stop the fraud and waste in Medicare then why hasn't that already been done?
OMg Health Care dont need to be fixed? People are so stupid! We got Doctors Nurses and 40 million uninsured Americans suffering because of the current Health Care system. America needs health care reform. I just thank god Obama is running the show and not the dumb George Bush. And those that say Obama is not a citizen are the same people that voted for George Bush twice and still think that we needed to invade Iraq. Stop being hateful and racist towards Obama and start arguing the real issues.
shif,
exactly. Your at it again? Simply repeating what was typed by me with no debate or your own personal insight.
"We hold these truths to be self-evident?" Is that your point?
I hope what's happening here is that your realizing that your points are few and far between.
I wittnessed Hannity lieing and twisting what the president said to fit the Fox agends. The GOP will agin be on the wrong side of history. The GOP will be shrinking into just a wimper. God bless the president. And oh by the way , Carter is smiling because Bush is the worst president ever!
People like Jane dont seem to understand we do respect the presidency but at this time it is hard to respect a man who cares only for his own adgenda. He is pushing for something without thought to are we able to pay for it much less where will we find quality doctors to take care of everyone. We have a great healthcare system that just needs some tweeks not a overhaul to be like some systems that are proven failures. Lets back up and slow down and make the right move for everyone and above all we need representation that will read and know what they are voting for and not just follow on blind faith>
How many more unspecific Obama speeches will we have to suffer through while we wait to hear SPECIFICS of how he plans to pay for this?
DEFEAT THIS NOW!!!!
It will make defeating cap-n-tax a little easier!
DO IT FOR YOUR KIDS! They'll thank you for it!
Hey,
I did not get to see his speech and there is no way in hades it could have changed my mind. Everybody wake up and together we can put a stop to all the non-cents. Leadership is fine, but when it is done for personal gains and
recognition that's not right. The Constitution of the United States of America
did not get us this far for us to allow junk to be crammed down our throats!
* Why is it on all our money "In GOD WE TRUST"?? Answer that Mr President!!!!! Maybe that can be changed too, in a COLD DAY in _ _ _ _ !
Julie,
this is exactly the "scare tactics" that drove Obama to speak last night.
The speech was too long and too sallow. No matter how many times the President tries to sale his big government take over it's not going to work. The Speaker was right when she said we need to drain the swamp and I say that we vote them all out starting with Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
Robert,
you said:
WE ARE THE ONLY WEALTHY DEMOCRATIC NATION THAT ALLOWS OUR OWN PEOPLE TO GO WITHOUT BASIC HEALTHCARE.
Same old crap once more. I would still like to know how he pland on paying for all of this. If he can stop the fraud and waste in Medicare/Medicade then why hasn't that already been done?
Mr. Unreal,
I thought your comment about being a class act was an ironical joke seeing as you are name calling and whatnot.
I would like to see the complete bill the folks up there want us to sign on to.
Robert,
Fact check I am not 20 years old anymore, I am out of college, out of the military and working for a company who currently offers health care.
There was nothing in that speech that was completely truthful.
Any open-minded person can see that.
Obama is a snake oil salesman. He's got nothing but BS.
Buyer beware!
It actually confirms my overall thinking on the president. He is a socialist and wants control over this country that was founded on freedom. Yes we need some type of reform however, we do not need to "throw the baby out with the bath water" The republicans have a solution however, the socialist that Obama listens to.. do not want to hear it. We have the best health care in the world, we need to fix what is broken with it not let the government take it over.
He did lie! People are so brainwashed by Barry Sotero (his real name) it's not funny! When will these people wake up and realize that the POTUS is not a citizen????
I can't wait to vote this bum out!
shif,
Ok, so lets just go with the "we are a republic and not a democracy" statement from you.
Robert,
Why don't you take the time to visit a VA, government run, hospital sometime and see just how deplorable the conditions are.
Look, listen, ignore. Wait wait....Look, hear nothing, ignore. Wait wait one more chance....Look, hear nothing, repeat GOP talking points
That's it. The Faux News team's and throngs of listeners/watchers behavior to all things Obama.
Julie,
My understanding is that this is a bill that the white house crafted in attempt to bring everyone aboard.
Jane's here for the same reason I am Marv. to watch your party try to save it's butt. it's entertainment value, kind of like going to the circus to watch the clowns.
Robert,
Your original post said we were a democracy.
Jane
It takes a ROBOT kool aid drinking brainwashed fool to define Robot. Divisiveness.....where have you been for the last 8 years...oh yeah criticizing the troops, administration and defending the terroist against our interrogation policies. Thats unity and bi-partisim......OhYeah!!!!!! Stop drinking the kool aid it is damaging to the brain not to mention with all the sugar you will gain a TON of weight then you carbon copy will be Huge!!!
This government discusses me!! It’s right for the democrats to talk bad about all republicans but they get insulted if someone dares to say something bad about them!
I'm a Spanish woman who came to this country 23 years ago and I fought for what I have now (this is the beauty of USA) you can get where you want to get!! with sacrifices but I feel very proud of myself...15 years ago I worked cleaning offices at nights and now I have my own office and I'm a Sr. Tax Accountant....AND I DON'T WANT ANYONE TO GIVE ME NOTHING... I motivate myself and I deserve everything that I have because OF ME!!!
So, in another words…if you don’t have something you fight for it, don’t let the government to control your life or give you something for their benefit…fight for you and you will see that at the end..it will be worth it!!
Obama didn't offer any credible explaination of how he intend to pay for this fiasco AND he called Sarah Palin a liar (which she's not).
Don't you people ever get tired of listening to speeches that someone else wrote?
Who is the man behind the curtain?
I remain unconvinced that we need Obamacare.
Jane, you reinforce the liberal stereotype so well -- attack the dissenters and ignore the issues. It's probably the only way to continue blithely along in your cocoon oblivious to the realities of life.
Yes, my mind was changed somewhat. Now I believe more strongly than ever that we have a narcissitic nut at the helm, aided and abetted by fellow crazies Pelosi, Reid, Axelrod, Rahm Emanuel, et. al.
@ Waldo Emerson. You poor brainwashed fool.
Either way that is not a trustworthy source in my book.
shif,
You say that everyone you know gets to go into a hospital and renegociate the price they pay.
I
Hey Robert,
I do have current health insurance, I just didn't think I needed it when I was in my early 20's, and in college, hence why I didn't have it.
Threatening and scarey! I was stuned by the remark, "we will call you out" that the President made last night. Evidently he is not afraid since he made that remark, he knows he will do what he wants to do regardless of what we the people want.
God help us!!
Im young, eat right, dont smoke, dont drink, exercise and probably will not need health care for a long time to come. If I do need care i can pay out of pocket without a problem. Seems like the ones taking care of themselves are the ones getting shafted if forced into a plan!!!
Tamm1,
They should also have to pay social security.
Republicans should propose an amendment that REQUIRES Obamacare on all US Federal employees, to include US Senators, Representatives and all registered lobbyists.....then we'll see if the corrupt Democrats are really serious about healthcare reform!
Jane,
I am wondering, did you feel this way when President Bush was in office?
I am also curious about one thing.... Would you be behind this "Healthcare Reform" if President Bush had developed it?
This poll is for everyone's opinion, just because everyone doesn't share your opinion you shouldn't criticize Fox News for providing unbiased unfiltered opinions, if you want that go to CNN.
I will not support anything that involves the government attempting to manage something only the private sector should be responsible for. Living in the U.S. how can anyone support socialism? Obama is a know liar, who has appointed czars like flies, these guy's are like maggots feeding on the rotting brains of citizens who are too uninformed to figure this crowd out. Democrats have screwed up social security, medicare, FNMA, Freddie Mac and the list goes on, we are fools if we give them this also.
shif,
This is the problem. Look at your last 3 responses to me. Nothing. You say, "we are a democracy, not a republic", then you say "read your post"
This is the problem with the debate at a core level. When you faced with cold hard facts you disappear from the debate and shut down.
This is why we stagnate, it's people like you that encourage our politicians to do nothing other than status quo.
Post some relevant facts, can you not take me to task on any point?
Let's see what you got, stop hiding. I'm right here ready to debate FACTS, not cleaver (or not so) one liners.
Robert,
Everyone I have known that has gone to the hospital without health care has had the price reduced to the "negotiated price" for insurance companies when they start making the payments.
Julie,
When you went to the emergency room and required 7,000.00 in services and only paid 2,000.00, who do you think had to cover the missing cost?
This is the problem with our current system. If you can afford to pay 2,000.00 in bills, then you should be able to afford basic health insurance, which is the point.
Obama said it twice last night, "You do not need to change your doctor or your insurance"
That means this concept of "nationalized health care" just flew out the window, it's not real. What is real is that we need to restructure our health care system inside of its current framework to better support Americans.
You say that you think its great that you live in our current system. Also realize if nothing changes with our current system, it can bankrupt america. That's not propoganda, that's the truth.
I loved Obama's speech on Healthcare, I think he said what had to be said to the stupid people of America that think Obama is trying to destroy America like Bush had done. But instead the speech showed again that Obama really cares about America and trying to solve the many nations problems that we are facing in these troubling times. If Healthcare so great why are many Senior Citizens getting there Prescription Medicine from Canada? And why many Americans are going to third World Countries to have life threatening surgery? And if Healthcare system is so great why are the taxpayers paying the Hospital bill for 40 million Americans and illegal immigrants that dont have Health insurance? The same people who are hating on Obama is the same people that voted for George Bush twice. I'm sure you guys wish Bush was hear to fix the Healthcare problem like he did the Economy.
Spoken like a true lawyer...same ole thing repackaged with a smile; the animation was sickening on Pelosi's and Biden's faces....
Everyone should read Liberty Counsel, www.LC.org, to find the truth of H. R. 3200, the healthcare reform favored by Speaker Pelosi and President Obama.
Debbie,
you are alive, How did you do it without health care? You are in debt, but you are alive. I know many people who have gone through health issues without health insurance. They paid, maybe 200 a month, but they paid, and the silly hospitals what did they do. lowered the bill, and didn't charge interest. That greedy "Baptist Hospital" in OKC.
Het,
I did not get to see his speech and there is no hades way it could have changed my mind. Everybody wake up and together we can put a stop to all the non-cents. Leadership is fine, but when it is done for personal gains and
recognition that's not right. The Constitution of the United States of America
did not get us this far for us to allow junk to be crammed down our throats!
Amen.
WE THE PEOPLE
DO NOT CONSENT;
Robert,
Please read your post.
To our government officials...why don't you put Healthcare and Cap & Trade aside until a later date and focus on JOBS. I believe most would rather work and buy their own healthcare instead of having no option but government healthcare. Maybe it's all part of their plan. Americans out of work...no money...no other choice.
It's rather simple. It's all about power, money and politics. It has nothing to do with Health Care. Health Care is just the vehicle being used. The Dems want to continue to create an enabling society so they can stay in power and fill their pockets. The Republicans are no better when they are in power. This Country is Starving for a 3rd Party who IS FOR THE PEOPLE.
shif,
We are not a democracy, we are a republic?
Well, we are both actually. From an American dictionary, here are the definitions:
Democracy;
free and equal representation of people
a country with a government that has been elected freely and equally by all its citizens
Republic:
political system with elected representatives:
a political system or form of government in which people elect representatives to exercise power for them
This is not the debate, although I agree that we are a republic and a democracy.
I wonder how accurate my breakdown of fox news viewers is.... haha
20% old grumpy men who already have government health care
10% preachers
40% uneducated Christians who don't have rational views about politics
20% people who have more money than they could ever spend
10% other
I saw, for the first time, last night something I thought I'd never see as the descendant of a Washington Insider family.
Hey Robert,
We are the only country without nationalized healthcare and that is great.
If you're going to support something, or someone, maybe you better make sure you know what you are supporting.
thank god we have the fox team chasing up these criminal politicians, child rapists , liars and thieves.
can you imagine how fast this obamanation would have drained the pond if guys like bill and jeff weren't investigating these creeps?
keep it up please at least until we can get our country back.
also, may i suggest since we already are failing in our current party system (democrats, republican, independent) let me suggest the grass roots party named the AMERICAN PARTY
sadly, a President who states to stop with the scare tactics only gives one himself at the end of his speech.
Robert,
We are not a democracy, we are a republic.
Robert,
No one is left without health care. ask the illegal aliens.
I am glad the President spoke, He reaffirms my beleif that that Government cannot and should not be involved in my healthcare!
Protective of freedom,
and only 40 % of the eligible voted.
I read one comment by sweet craver stating this president was voted in and 'supported by the majority of the people in America.' but purhaps he failed to notice the approval rating of Mr. Obama being far less than a true majority. In fact it would seem
Republican Mom and Republican Air Force Ret.
I am not saying your are not republican, but look at your president who has been saying in speeches that conservatives have been lying. After being called names for so long, (the kettle is calling the pot black) it just exploded.
FOX. Not a legitimate news organization. Just a right wing blog.
Of course this people said no to this poll. People who watch this channel are no different from those following people like Chavez or the president of Iran. It does not matter how wrong they are, they will still do what their leader says. it so sad to see this older people so angry (mostly older white people)
Rhonda,
Thanks, good assessment, he has spoken so many times since he was elected and then all the way back to when he started his campaign, he is more like white noise.
All mouth (and ears) no DO.
Retired Air Force, that was my President too! I agree with your comments. It was not good for my kids to see Cantor twittering because we consider that rude. Is nothing sacred to these political types. Wilson is another story. Shame, shame, shame, but I am sure Hannity, Limbaugh, and Beck will try to spin it as a hero. I will not allow those programs plus some Stuart guy to be shown on my tv. They are rude to guest, talk over them, don't let them answer questions and try to tear this country apart.
Jane... You are a typical dem, blame everyone, accept everything, but the truth about your Messiah..!.
He lies well through his teeth!
I didn't want to get depressed so I didn't watch it. I have heard and seen enough of the Pres. 3 more years and 3 more months. What will this country be like then?
I'm surprised his pants did't burst into flames right on stage.
"Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire" Wilson has my vote for having the nads to say so.
Sometimes names and comments don't match. hmmmm
Do not know anymore than you did before. He is so good doing the 2 step. I am a democrat for 40 years. All I can say is what my grandmother used to say when I was a little girl. HOG WASH!!!!
