This speech was so disappointing. I think Americans are willing for Obama to get it right...but he keeps insisting that there is a sinister group "spreading lies and misinformation". No, Sir, we have just been reading the bill. The American People, thanks to Freedom of the Press and Freedom of Speech have been doing their own research. I have also been reading up on history-how Hitler was able to take over a nation: first with smooth words and promises, then with bully tactics and later brutality. There are a LOT of parallels between this administration and Hitler's. I once visited a newly-formed church and on this particular day, the pastor said" If you don't believe what I'm preaching, you can just walk out that door!" Turns out, everyone should have walked out because the church broke down soon after: the preacher was helping himself out to more than his fair share of the offering. We are getting the same bully talk from this president. Now, the question is, can Congress and the American people keep the Left from applying Bully Tactics to have everything their way?

The President showed great leadership and strength to look people in the eye to work with them. The partisan lies make me so ashamed of the Republican party and Cantor twittering because he is so political every minute of his day and Wilson's town hall, Tea Party whitetrash was unacceptable. Republicans need to act like adults instead of bratty kids and the weirdo pundits like Beck and Hannity need to mature into real news. Beck's yapping about the NBC building and Obama's cabinet is nothing next to Wilson's behavior. In fact Wilson and Beck are very similar. Which is why I would never buy products on his or Hannity's show. No longer watch them. I am a retired Republican Air Force Colonel. That was my president speaking last night.

MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, and CNN all tried to conduct a poll of 700 Americans to get their opinion on the healthcare speech by President Oblahma, but they could not find 700 viewers. Everyone was watching Fox News. Get a clue, Jane, and you other hate-mongering left wingers. We're tired of the "main stream" media telling us what to think. We have long ago realized that we can think for ourselves. That's why we watch Fox.

President Obama is an excellent speaker but so were some more notorious leaders in history (no names mentioned but I am sure some of you know who I am talking about). Just because you are a good speaker does not mean that what comes out of your mouth makes any sense. Pay attention to the words being said and not how it is being said, don't let the emotion in the words effect you. President Obama did not say anything really new or mindblowing and I agree with Joe Wilson, he is liar.

What is going to bankrupt our government? Spending,
Our plan, we have been shouting for years how to fix it. Turn your channel to a moderate fox news and you will hear.
1. Tort Reform,
2. Healthcare savings accounts
3. Get Illegal aliens out of the country and our health system
4. Fraud
5. Allow companies to compete across state lines.
Maybe Mythbusters aught to do a show on this.

"We're expected to believe a Democrat-controlled Congress, with deep divisions in its ranks, will put together a bill that will keep everything the same for those who have health insurance through their jobs, Medicare, Medicaid, or the VA; mandate coverage of pre-existing conditions; ban caps on coverage; mandate coverage of routine checkups and preventive care, like mammograms and colonoscopies; offer health insurance to 30 million uninsured; provide tax credits for small businesses; painlessly mandate coverage for the young healthy uninsured; provide hardship waivers; provide choice and competition; keep insurance companies honest; avoid taxpayer subsidies for public option plans; keep out illegal immigrants; not pay for abortions; and not deny care to the elderly because of cost-benefit analyses, all while not adding one dime to our deficits – either now or in the future." (Geraghty on National Review.)

To Jane.
Are we to believe the polls are CNN, NBC, ABC when every self thinking American knows the media is in the pocket for Obama? Kudos to FOX for keeping it real. Why else would fox be dominating the news rankings? They produce fact on both sides of the issue you just don't want to see the other side.
I am a staunch conservative and I have the highest respect for the position of Presidency. One can respect the position without respecting the man. I do not and never will respect Barack Hussein Obama because he is the complete opposite of my political beliefs. Economically speaking with facts to support the following: "You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."
Now... the challenge is on you to prove me wrong!
The truth of the matter is no time to date has the government been successful, history proves that. Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and Welfare it's all going bust - guess what run by the government (see a common theme here?). I have as much a right to oppose the current Administration as you did the last. And the truth of the matter is, why break what is working to fix what is not? It's a slippery slope and all down here from here if not done properly.

Wuff! Wuff! Wuff! 262 speeches; 232 days in office. I would greatly appreciate it if President Obama would stop campaigning and start working towards the bi-partisan, transparent position he took DURING the campaign. This speech disturbed me. "We the people" just simply doesn't matter to this guy. Nov 2010 mid-term election is a very long time from now. So flag@wh didn't work- now those that speak against the dictator will be "called out"? Many have died in wars to protect the sovereignty and freedoms in this country. Obama is NO joke! He's serious and we are inconsequential. After all- didn't Pelosi tell that to the nation? We're "astroturf." While we are caught in the discontent of health care debates - our enemies are yucking it up as they test our vulnerabilities... The president should be more concerned with our national security. A bankrupt nation is vulnerable to any jeckels out in the wild. From a psychological perspective it's clear the disturbances in BHO's (Barry Soratoro) life he plays out on the public stage....over-compensating for those things he did not get in his childhood... all to our loss and his gain.
AND TO JANE, the first post: A person doesn't have to be a Republican to see through disingenuous Obama! You could have muted the speech and just observed the body-language to learn more about what he was saying than WHAT he was saying. There are other SMART people out here who don't vote for Republicans or Democrats but vote for who they believe are the best people for the jobs. I'm one of them.
Generations in our family (1700s through present) have fought for the freedoms in this country YOU presently enjoy (for now)! AND YOURS?????

If you can't take the heat, which obviuosly the lefties can't, then get out of the fire.
Gerry - 17 years ago
Now let me get this straight...
We're going to insure somewhere between 30 million & 47 million more people.
We're going to decrease the cost to each of us for health insurance.
The government is going to fund this primarily from the fraud and waste in medicare and medicaid. (If they know theres this much fraud and waste, why haven't they cleaned it up before?)
The government is going to clean up this mess, and establish a public option, but less than 5% of the public will opt for the public option.
We're not going to cover illegal aliens (but they are still going to show up in our ERs.)
So, we're going to insure a lot more folks for less money, the aliens are magically going to disappear from our health system, and the natonal debt is not goiung to go up one dime.
So, I've got a great deal for you on a bridge that connects Manhattan and New Jersey.
We cannot possibly be this dumb or naive.
... and all of this will be brought to us by the fine folks in the US government bureaucracy, who have brought us the financially stable behemoths run by our government.
The US Postal Service - always in debt, would be bankrupt and out of business if not subsidized by us, unlike successful competitors -FedEx, UPS which actually are successful and profitable.
Freddie Mac & Fannie May - Failures again, requiring infusion of our hard earned taxes.
Social Security - Impending bankruptcy which is being ignored.
Medicare - Impending bankruptcy which is being ignored.
Medicaid - Impending bankruptcy which is being ignored.
The FDIC which is down to only 10 billion in reserves, and requires desperately cash infusion to help assure the safety of our bank deposits.
Not to count the financial sector and automotive sectors of the economy which have become governmental stepchildren.
So Obama and crew with no successful experience in any administrative field want to annex 1/6th of thye US ecxonomy and put it under their control.
and somehow legitimately addressing true Tort reform escaped the president's formula. Malpractice suits weigh heavily on the Medical profession, generating high insurance costs to physicians as well as generating further expenses to patients to assure that all the bases are covered ordering every possible test in an effort to avoid liability suits. This is expensive, and a major contributor to escalating medical costs for our citizenry. Yet probably because of the president's support by Trial loawyers, this obvious cause of bloating of the healthcare crisis is ignored. We need Tort reform as part of any realistic approach to healthcare reform.
We should fix what is broken, leave alone what works well and tread slowly and softly as we watch for adverse unIntended consequences of the proposed extreme rapid health reform.

Amen to your comment, TexasJim. Dark days are ahead, to be sure. The tragedy of this is that it is the STUPIDS that voted this MORON and his ilke into office...Unfortunately, now we ALL get to suffer. I truly hope and pray that GOD still blesses America...
mimiinpa - 17 years ago
All those posting....how would you fix healthcare? One thing the President got right, we are going to bankrupt our country with healthcare costs in the next 20 years. We need a solution and soon. My generation of Baby Boomers are heading for Medicare and then watch the costs zoom. And I don't want to even think about social security's future. We have to control costs and insure the uninsured. So how do you all think we should do that?
Linda - 17 years ago
I gave the President an "F" on his speech, it seemed to me he just used his position of power to denigrate people that do not agree with his way of thinking. He needs to understand, just because most of Americans did not go to Harvard they can still read and understand when they are being fed a line of bull. It is awful to think someone would lose their home because they could not pay their medical bills, but if I for some reason can't pay my property taxes the government is going to take my home. Dose that mean, the government is not bad they just do bad thing?
Hubie - 17 years ago
We need a leader not a person who divides our country. I am neither Republican or Democrat and listened with a willingness to consider my opinions against government run healthcare if definite plans and facts were presented. The idea of paying by eliminating "fraud and waste in medicare" is a red herring. If such were possible, they should be eliminating it now--independant of the health care debate.
After listening, I was apalled at the lack of leadership our president exhibited. When I look past his eloquent delivery and "cheerleading", I do not see any attempt to unite, compromise or lead. Instead I was some what chilled by the threats (We will seek you out.) directed toward anyone who does not agree with him.
In summary, when you look past the eloquent speaking no definite facts were presented and I am even more against the idea of government controlled health care.
Mark - 17 years ago
It is a sad state of affairs when so many people act with so much disrespect for the office that goes towards the very freedom us as Americans live and die for. I don’t care if you are a republican or democrat acting like a child is unacceptable from someone who is an elected official. Do we expect people to disagree and have passion towards what they think is right or wrong, yes. But there is a right and a wrong way to do things, most of us learned it by the time we were in the first grade. America voted and spoke loudly with the last election and they will vote again in the future elections. If I had an employee who had performed the way Joe Wilson did last night he would be on the street this morning apology or not.

With a result of 92% to 7% against the president, it shows the makeup of Fox News is over 90% conservative or right wing.
Why is it news that the right wing is unhappy with a president that was voted in by and is still supported by the majority of the American people?

Finally, a Republican showed some cojones and responded to yet another lie during the so-called President's speech - God bless Joe Wilson! The Democrats cried "lack of respect" for Wilson's outburst yet fail to realize that their radical communist in the oval office has no respect whatsoever for our Constitution, much less for the American people.

The speech was a joke. The only thing I heard that was a positive is the tort reform. However, I do not believe they will add any tort reform. The Leberals / Progressives are going to try and push this through. We all must stand together and stop them. It is a shame. They could easily take a few steps and fix a broken health care system. I do want to mention another positive. I feel Obama and the democratic congress is bringing people together like after 9/11. However, it is in opposition to what they are doing. This may well usher in a whole new group of sound politicians next year.
true believer - 17 years ago
Most of the comments by Democrats on health care are focused on personal attacks of the loyal opposition. I take offense when anyone refuses to debate on the merits of their plan . When your plan is not defensible attack the character of the opposition. This is a power play for wussies. Like thumpers mom in Bambi said " if you can't say something nice , don't say anything at all. You democrats need to grow up!!!!
Obama cannot handel criticism. He sound angry and apparently has not been listening to the American people. His lack of management experience is finally catching up with him. He is really willing to bring down cost, he is just wanting to fundamentally change America. Health Care Reform is so huge. Why not take it in steps.
1. Try all the cuts that they are saying will come from medicare & medicaid
See what you come up with. Then use the amount you get from the cuts and tackle another aspect of health care.
2. There are great examples out there were care delivery has been made efficient and cost down by more than 25%. Why not copy an example like this and make it available for all hospitals around the country.
3. Cost of premium has never gone down. 10 years ago, in Holland we were paying about $34 in premium but now we pay about $105 for basic premium and $155 to include dental coverage. So cost of health care never goes down.
President Obama has a dream world in his mind that does not fit with reality. He so controlled by political groups that he cannot put his legs on the ground.
I am beginning to believe he is a one term president.
He has not said anything about van Jones, He said he did not know Bill Ayers, but yet he surrounds himself with radicals.
Well, you want to be independent, start a business of your own.

He was against tax brakes for the middle class and taxing the top 3% billionaires and HE WAS MIDDLE CLASS!!! He was against thing that would actually benefit him and all of you are the same. You are just against "things". You can keep your own insurance, doctor, etc and still you complain??? This plan is ment to give insurance to every american, why? Because everybody gets sick and at some point everybody needs a doctos. We end up paying for the unninsured!!!!
Now, if you loose your job under Obamas plan you can keep your insurance, if you or your Mom or Dad are diagnosed with cancer your insurance company won't be able to reject you!!!!
And you are still against it????????
Your argument is, "well how are we going to pay for it"? You all sound so responsable. I wish I could see how good you all are at paying your bills. I wish I could see how much DEBT you all have on you credit cards.
There are ways to pay for it, GIVE IT A SHOT!!!!
I really hope some of you would respond to my comment. I would love to argue with each one of you until you understand that you are just AGAINST because Multi-Billionaires are pumpimg so much money into Fox and other outlets so you keep their business safe.
Who do you want between you and your doctor? The insurance companies? What if you loose your job and the next day your son has an accident???? what if your mom get cancer at age 45 and you are still in college?

Respect for the Presidency?? Please, Please!!!!! Please note that respect has to be earned and not there just because of the position. All the wasted spending that he has proposed the last eight months has sunkened US economy into the ocean, with tremendous debt that will greatly affect later generations. As for the terrorists, I believe that they are rejoicing now, not because they have successfully made attacks on us but for the fact that the elected officials are acting for their own interests, messing up with the population's wishes and the hugh debt incurred that will eventually haunt us. They have totally forgotten that they are there to work for us. The President said we are a wealthy nation, I think he needs to update himself. We used to be one but with all the spending that he proposed, we will turn into one of the poorest nations pretty soon.
Dear Jane, Google "Democratic beliefs vs. Republican beliefs". Democratic: "Government guides the people". Republican: "The people guide the government". That's what this is all about. How much power should government have? In complete charge of our health care? Isn't that guiding US? How is Canada doing with their government-run health care? I heard it wasn't going so good.

Jane; I have never commented on one of these sites before but your post has pushed me to it. I am not a Republican I am however a conservative. I am also a combat veteran with 21 years of active duty service. You call Republicans hate filled and "the most non-patriotic members of our society" Jane from what I read the hate is coming from your group. It is from the liberals I see the name calling, the personal attacks, the slurs upon peoples motives and intelligence merely because they happen to disagree with Obama's and the Democrats socialist agenda.
It was your group Jane, yes a member of Obama's cabinet who called me and other combat veterans like me potential terrorist and told law enforcement to watch us. Why would that be Jane? I will make you a deal Jane, you spend 805 days in combat, you lose some of the best friends you ever had right in front of your eyes and then you come back and tell me how non-patriotic I am.

Hey that would clean house.
Marv - 17 years ago
"Jane" says that a Fox poll is a joke because we are all robots. What is she doing on the Fox web site? As far as Obama being credible and changing people's mind, I agree with Congresman Joe Wilson's assessment, Obama lied when it came to illegal aliens. Currently, illegals go to emergency rooms to get treated and the bill is left to the taxpayer to pay. This will not stop until illegals are deported after they are treated and their property is confiscated to pay for the medical bill. This, along with tort reform, will help drive down the cost of health care. It's unfortunate that "Jane" is not "in lock step" with the majority of the American people.
Texas Bill - 17 years ago
20 years ago I started watching what the Politicians do and not what they put in speeches. I find that they are to very different in most cases. No matter which party they belong to. All of the bills in the house and senate will kill private business which will kill private jobs and all of them will add billions to our debt and instead of improving care they are going to lower everyone to the same level of Mediocre care. This is all about power and control and has nothing to do with healthcare otherwise it would be in plain English and everyone could understand how it’s going to be better. You don't rewire a house because the lightbulb went out.
JT - 17 years ago
He did not change my mind. But then again not only am I against a government run health care system, I am against all social programs run at the Federal level where my tax dollars are taken and given to someone else. I believe all of these programs should be abolished and returned to the States where they belong.
Jeff - 17 years ago
Really Jane??? What polls would you prefer we pay attention to? CNN? MSNBC? Obama and his gang are all about fluff and shine to get you and everybody else to feel comfortable about the money they are spending. This bill HR3200.... Have you read it? I haven't, I tried and I am still working on it but 1017 pages of congressional rhetoric takes some time to read. Anyone who hasn't read this bill or at least attempted to read it, needs to shut their mouths, including everybody in the house, senate and the president himself, until they do There is not one republican saying that something doesn’t need to be done. All they are saying is there are other alternatives than the government taking over. We are not unpatriotic republicans just because we don’t agree with the thoughts and opinions that you form or the words that come out of your mouth. I DO NOT WANT THIS BILL PASSED. That does not make me unpatriotic; it makes me an informed and concerned US citizen

I am from Chicago and can tell you that this man cannot be trusted. I have seen the video where he stated he believes in a single payer health care system. He also knows he has to start from a point of where the public option is just an option that will slowly put the other options out of business. He is a phony and a socialist. I have seen the people he has always surrounded himself with and they are all radicals. Birds of a feather flock together! By the way his famous words while sitting in the Illinois senate were “PRESENT” 67% of the time when it came to voting on matters. Great decision making abilities! I believe he stole the money of Illinois taxpayers!

For all you liberals out there, when the President turned toward the Republicans and said that he wanted them to participate in the Health Care Reform Debate, he valued their ideas... how many amendments do you think Nancy Pelosi and co will allow on the final vote of HR 3200? I would be a large sum of money it will be voted on under a closed rule. Obama and more importantly Emanual know this so that gesture to the Republican was BS. You won't see that fact mentioned on the MSM. One reason folks watch Fox news is to get the other side. Look at Yahoo, CNN and MSNBC all the same story.. President did a great job...
ROBERT - 17 years ago
I really did not want another speech from this charlatan, but I heard him out. I am still not convinced that he hs being truthful with the American people. First of all, he cannot pay for this by simply cutting waste, that is proposterous. Second, it will end up costing way more than $900 Billion. Anytime a liberal politician tells you what a proposed program will cost, better figure 3 to 5 times more. Third, millions of people will automatically lose their employer based insurance when their employers realize it's cheaper to pay the 8% penalty and dump them into the government plan. Fourth, the plan cuts medicare by $500 Billion, which will lead to rationing of care to the elderly. This is really not about healthcare reform at all. It is a power grab, a takeover of 17% of the US economy. Vladimir Lenin, the man who brought communism to Russia once said that the key to getting control of a nation is figuring out a way to control the medicine...America, beware the silver-tongued serpent!

Not only did he not change my mind, he made my case against it stronger by thinking he can force health care on me. I am a fit healthy 28 year old (for the next 4 days at least). If I wanted health care I would pay for it. No way you will force it on me, 'Nuff said.
One of my freedoms is about to be taken away. That is my freedom to choose not to have health care insurance. The president said that I am irresponsible for not having insurance if I can afford it. Is it not my right to decide if I want to put money aside on my own for emerceny room visits. Does it somehow make me irresponsible to take care of my own life in my own way. I am offended from the president's comment. If I am forced to pay for health insurance by the government (yet again), (medicare), I will seriously start looking at moving countries. This is one freedom I will not have taken from me. I do not need insurance for health care that is not focused on making individuals healthier, but focused on making as much money as they possibly can. That is the real morality issue here. President Obama said that it is a morality issue to provide health care for everyone. Is it not then a morality issue that we start to heal the sick rather than keep them on drugs for the rest of their lives.
Fred - 17 years ago
The history, rationale and proposed plan were fine. BUT, the reality of who will pay was not detailed. According to the "Plan", the majority of the funds are to come from reducing fraud and doing a better job of managing Medicare and Medicaid. I think these "clean ups" should be done first and then we'll see what is available to reform other aspects of healthcare.

There was nothing in this read that would change anyone's mind. It did not changed mine for sure. He is lying, his political credo is wobling and libs and dems are scared. MOB!!!!!! 2010 is right around the corner. We'll clean up the Hill and in 2012 clean up the House. No socialism should be allowed in this country.

The Gentleman from Louisiana hit the nail on the head. The President is not being truthful with the people of the United States, he has not been since the first day of his campaign. Blames everything on the former President, while everything he does is a complete and total failure. Wake up AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Louis Schwartz - 17 years ago
It began sounding pretty, but then he began the old mantra of casting blame back on those in the prior administration. Some of which is true but that will get us nowhere. Not one word mentioned about how great the health care system of this country performs every day. He is not going to Canada or England for treatment. Two steps he could take right now, to improve our system, and have a bill approved in a couple of weeks are: insurance competetion across state lines and portability.
Waldo Emerson - 17 years ago
@Angel: It has never taken someone who writes their own speeches or who has original ideas to make a good president. It's those who take ideas that are not their own, but those of the people they represent (in this case, Obama recognizes he represents the American people and wants to integrate Republican as well as Dem ideas). It is unfortunate that so many Fox News listeners and "journalists?" have decided to not like whatever this president is putting forward. Like the GOP politicians who have decided to just oppose for opposition sake, it does nothing for progress. When the insurance companies have had 40+ years to "fix" their system and failed, then it's time to allow some regulation to control costs and focus on the things that benefit business and consumers.

Lies, Lies and more Lies. Threats, threats and more threats. He may be president but this speech was in a very hateful tone full of threats to people that oppose him. Congrats to the Senator that finally called him a liar to his face. That is one of the things I wish I could say personally to him, Pelosi and Reid.
Deborah - 17 years ago
I thought that Obama might really come together like he is always promising, but all he did was say the same old tired talking points and snipe at his opponents. For someone who was supposed to bring people together, he is clearly the most divisive president I have ever heard.
Americans have read the House Bill and can quote it. Barack never even goes there. He just says what he would like to see. Doesn't he ever know what Pelosi and Reed have put in the D*** bill?

I listened carefully… and I’m still not buying. I have a number of objections but at the top of my list are these three.
1.I absolutely do not believe that we can pay for most of it by cutting out waste and fraud in Medicare. If it were that easy to cut hundreds of millions, why haven’t previous administrations already done it? Hell, why hasn’t his administration already begun to do just that?
2.The most basic math of all of this healthcare discussion simply doesn’t work. Unless you have a magic wand, you can’t add 15% to the industry’s workload (43 million plus newly covered citizens) and improve care while simultaneously lowering costs. Impossible.
3.The public option, with the 8 percent penalty for not providing approved coverage, will absolutely drive large numbers of businesses away from private insurance and into the public option. Using the President’s number of +/- $12,000 / year to cover a family and assuming the average family makes +/- $40,000 / year and assuming their employer pays half of that $12,000 / year or $6,000 / year; then the employers cost as a percentage of his employee’s salary cost is 15 percent. Ergo, the public option quickly runs the private business out of business.
In summary, the partisan bickering will continue, and the President’s multiple snide remarks (We will call you out!) added to it. I know we have got to move forward, but I still don’t see how we can do it. New Zeeland anyone?
Marilyn - 17 years ago
And the Democrats did what when Bush was in office? Should we consider you to have been unpatriotic then but patriotic now because you are in "lockstep" behind the President and Pelosi? This country was built on the blood, sweat, and tears of patriots who agreed and disagreed. This debate is part of what America is all about.

Barack is a great speaker who manages to appear credible while spewing the same old rhetoric and not really committing to anything. He is Pelosi's puppet and she is not interested in people like me and my family who have worked hard and created a good life for ourselves. Obama should also be told by his speechwriters that the pronoun "nobody" is singular and should not be followed by "they" but "he or she". Clinton brought this shameful grammar into the White House and it is now being perpetuated by a guy who has just encouraged the Nation's children to get a good education!
Angel - 17 years ago
Obama did exactly what he always does, read a pretty speech that someone else wrote. The man has no genuine ideas that can help this country, unless you are the type of person who likes having government control every aspect of your life. The majority of Americans understand that this bill is going to give the government unprecedented control of our lives.
Jane - 17 years ago
Any poll on Fox is a joke. Robots walking in lockstep. Repubs piling on with glee, fortified by hate and divisiveness. No respect for the Presidency. I hope the terrorists aren't watching, I'm sure they feel it would be much easier to attack a divided country. Repubs are the most non-patriotic members of our society.
President Obama did not say anything really new or mindblowing and I agree with Joe Wilson, he is liar.
mimiinpa
What is going to bankrupt our government? Spending,
Our plan, we have been shouting for years how to fix it. Turn your channel to a moderate fox news and you will hear.
1. Tort Reform,
2. Healthcare savings accounts
3. Get Illegal aliens out of the country and our health system
4. Fraud
5. Allow companies to compete across state lines.
Maybe Mythbusters aught to do a show on this.
Blamers don`t lead and leaders don`t blame. Obama is a BLAMER!
Obama is ALSO simply a talking head [EVENING NEWS]reading a teleprompter which is made up of the far left anger at the American system written by the moveon.org crowd.
Our Country is in grave danger of being dismantled and taken over ny leftist extremists. VAN JONES AND OTHER LIKE MINDED AVISORS STILL SURROUND AND ADVISE OBAMA.
Abracadabra...Magician he is not. He can't do it, nobody could. Smoke and Mirrors, and, yes, lies, lies, lies.
New Zealand...not sure it'd be a good alternative [Jeff Fisher]. Their health care system, like every other democratic country in the developed world, falls in the category of being 'socialist.'
Mark,
Just because he won the election does not make him emperor. We still have our voices and our representatives to prevent perversion of our republic.
Hey Jane, go back to where ever it is you came from and take Obama and
the Dems with you. If anyone is non-patriotic is the lot of you. Democracy is what this country is about. Our FREEDOMS! I feel if your not happy with the
way things are in America, then find somewhere else where you would be. When you start talking about changing the fundemental principals that this country was founded on and run it with radicals, yes people are going to fight back and that's our right. If you can't take the heat, which obviuosly the lefties can't, then get out of the fire.
I gave the President an "F" on his speech, it seemed to me he just used his position of power to denigrate people that do not agree with his way of thinking. He needs to understand, just because most of Americans did not go to Harvard they can still read and understand when they are being fed a line of bull. It is awful to think someone would lose their home because they could not pay their medical bills, but if I for some reason can't pay my property taxes the government is going to take my home. Dose that mean, the government is not bad they just do bad thing?
Unreal,
Public school is how we got into this mess. I can understand why you would want us to go back to education camps.
I can believe how ignorant many of you are. You all have the IQ of Joe the Plumer. Remember him?
What if you loose your job and the next day your son has an accident???? what if your mom get cancer at age 45 and you are still in college?
come one, ANSWER MY QUESTIONS!
I am glad to be on the fair and balanced website. Maybe you toothless Rush listening Jerry Springer mindless twits should go to school and try and have a mind of your own. I guess you could stand up and scream that the President is a liar, class act way to represent your party you idot. What is the Republican plan for health care oh I forgot there isn't one.
I thought the President was going to give us more specifics to persuade his constituents to support this Obamacare. Well, I was trully disappointed at the same vague, non-commital, too-good-to-be-true, pie-in-the-sky perfect plan he described. Wow! it won't cost a dime!!
He does lie. What are they going to do with the pennieless illegal immigrants? Make them pay their own medical bill? With what ? They seem to know it , why doesn't the " annointed one" know it ?
I agree with Rep. Joe Wilson. He shouldn't apologize for calling Obama what he is - a liar. This regime and that is what it is - a regime - has been systematically taking away our rights and replacing them with socialist slavery and with an enormously high price tag. Obama is not a king, pelosi is not a queen and we are not their subjects.
He did not change my mind nor my husband's. They the dems have double standards. They heckle Bush , but no one is to heckle The Great Obama! Sorry but he is not God just a Lier in Chief.
Obamas healthcare plan is doomed to fail, just as he is doomed to fail. He has
never governed or ran anything in his life and the presidency is NOT on the job
training. What on earth makes him think that with all his fancy speeches and
his superb articulation that he thinks he can reform healthcare, he cannot. He
is going to be the ruin of this country called America, oops, it's not AMERICA
anymore, it's AFERICA. IMPEACH OBAMA!!!!

i would bet that obama is going to grant all the illegals amnesty before the bill is final
Anytime you are being sold a bill of goods, where you are being ripped off the con-man will stop you from considering the truth, by giving you a "isn't it great for you speech". The truth always comes out in the long run. The truth about this con-man and his parties intentions are becoming apparent. They want your money, and their veiw of how you should live your life. I stand with Representitive Joe Wilson, Mr. Obama "You Lie" ! ! ! ! Do your job, defend this nation, and keep your hands off my money, and my health care plan and decisions ! ! !
Jeff,
There should be a law requiring all bills to be written so that everyone can understand them. And another law requiring every member to read bills before vote or resign office.
Hey that would clean house.
He did not change my mind. But then again not only am I against a government run health care system, I am against all social programs run at the Federal level where my tax dollars are taken and given to someone else. I believe all of these programs should be abolished and returned to the States where they belong.
TLH,
Why do you think Jimmy Carter is smiling. He is not longer considered the worst president in history.
Forget the speech. Just Google this guy and look back at his entire life. He is a Muslim, Socialist, and has major Communist ties. I don't care about the birth certificate, he is not an American at heart and is trying to take this country down.
Appleseed Ex Machina is a typical left winger..they CAN'T possibly believe that folks don't see things their way!!! This president will go down in history as the worse one EVER. I have absolutely NO respect for that Marxist
It was a laughable speech. WHere is the bill that makes the "promises" he described? Has it been debated ? SPeaking of debating, he is now calling for debate when previously he was trying to shove the 1000+ page bill up our butts with no time to read it nor debate it !
I am surprised that he sisn't promise every child a puppy too ! Maybe that's next....
Appleseed,
Go to you liberal communist leaning news station and chant, the liberals will make it all better, the liberals will make it all better. If you can't stand the truth turn the channel. Many find it refreshing to find a moderate news source.
Why should the senator who said "You Lie!" think he has to apologise? I say congrats to him! Did all the people who stood up and clap after every sentence do the same for disrupting the speech? No. It just goes to show how Obama cant handle anyone challenging him. Everyone glared at him as if he did something wrong. Why should he feel guilty for voicing his opinion...I wish more had done the same.
I am WITH the Gentleman from South Carolina! The (p)resident is lying! ILLEGAL immigrants WILL be covered by our hard-earned tax dollars. LEGAL immigrants should be as p.....off as I am!
Ray,
Tort reform, fraud, expanding health savings accounts, and getting illegal aliens out of our system. Something that the liar in chief keeps forgetting. Conservatives have been asking for these things for years. But wait, he says we don't have a plan.
The truth was only spoken once, when someone yelled from the crowd, "you lie."
Why should I be surprise at the results of this poll on the Fox News web site? Utterly ridiculous.
I find it interesting that a Fox poll is considered "a joke". The ratings on Fox are burying all other news programs. So either those who voted do not watch the news or they do not know what they voted for. Of course there is another explanation....ACORN!
No One is looking into the Real cause of raising cost, tort reform and fraud. I only heard lip service to tort reform and it will Never Happen, as long as politicians are taking money from trial lawyers. Just ask John Edwards....
Where do leftists get the idea that people who disagree with them are less intelligent and easily led? How pompous can you Pelosi-fearers be? Barack is never held accountable by the general media as they're in awe of an idea and totally blinded. I pray his term in office goes quickly and before he gets an opportunity to do even more damage, not only to this country's image, but to its economy.
And the Democrats did what when Bush was in office? Should we consider you to have been unpatriotic then but patriotic now because you are in "lockstep" behind the President and Pelosi? This country was built on the blood, sweat, and tears of patriots who agreed and disagreed. This debate is part of what America is all about.
THAT IS A TYPICAL SPEACH OF A LAWYER THAT CAN LIE IN FRONT OF THE PUBLIC AND GET BY WITH IT TO THE BLIND AND DEAF DUMMY'S IN THIS COUNTRY...............AS SAID (DARK DAYS ARE AHEAD)
GOD BLESS AMERICA.........
TEXAS JIM
50 minutes later (whew!) to conclude that it was a bad deal before and its' a bad deal now.
Obama did exactly what he always does, read a pretty speech that someone else wrote. The man has no genuine ideas that can help this country, unless you are the type of person who likes having government control every aspect of your life. The majority of Americans understand that this bill is going to give the government unprecedented control of our lives.
