No it should not be a holiday. To create a holiday would be giving credence to what the attackers of that day were trying accomplish, disruption. I don't think there is an American alive that will forget that day. We responded appropriately with military action and we do have a holiday to remember those who serve our country, Memorial Day.

During these times of economic hardship thinking in terms of another holiday seems extremely counterproductive. Maybe we should think in terms of foregoing some of the existing paid holidays to bolster our productivity.
I think a "minute of silence" at a specified time every September 11th would be a more fitting tribute.

show some respect! if your loved ones or family and friends died in this horrible act of cowardness against OUR country..you would deem it as a national holiday. the brave men and women who gave their lives to save others, the innocent people who didn't know it would be their last day on earth, the ones who woke up and went to work to only die without cause....be an american, support your country and your people and make this day a rememberence! GOD BLESS THE U.S.A!

YES!!!!!!!!!!! It should be a holiday of national remembrance" and not this a day ofcommunity service BS the pant load commie in the white house is trying to make it by signing it into law this April.
Speaking of the left wing socialist in the white house some communities already have a BO holiday.
It would be a perverse corruption to make 9/11 a national holiday and see people "honoring" the memory of this tragic day by shopping at Wal-Mart or heading to an amusement park.
