I think Qazi and Imran khan should work together. These two people are the most trust-worthy people in Pakistan politics including their other close leaders. Of course there will be some corrupt ppl in those parties also but at least their main and major ppl are not corrupted. Ppl do favoritism a lot and they don't care who is right and wrong in support of their favorite person. When Jammat accepted the LFO on musharaf all the ppl who hated Jamaat started disgracing jamaat for why they accepted the LFO, but the pro-Musharaf ppl never recognize that in favor of Jamaat. On the other hand if jamaat had'nt accepted the LFO the same ppl who hate Jamaat would had created the issue saying why Jamaat does not understand the problem and accept the lfo, why they just want to do dherna and strikes. U know these ppl just want to fight and never want to agree on anything. PPL still talk about why jamaat accepted lfo while Jmaat had no choice, what could have they done besides strike and dhurna and ppl wouldn't have liked that either. Guys please think who will be a better president. At least look at the time of namatUllah, did he try to shut down the western business in karachi. Why r u guys keep saying that jamaat will start a war.

I think they all are bastereds . The USA has hired all of them and they work for him .They are playing with the future of all the 160 million peoples , they can do alot more good things for the people of our country but they didnt . They only understand two things which is money and power , they dont even have fear of Allah and they think that they will not die and will live in this world forever .

Is this our country where we have alot of resources but our people suffer from shortage of food , no my friends , i dont beleive this that our country has a shortage of sugar and floor , these bastered did that , do u know 26 sugar mills out of 77 are owned by these politician ..I only say about these politician is that

    Salmab,

you are darn right ! In my opinion :

Musharaff be tried before International Penal Court for
    massacres, collaboration with invading forces,
    complice of Afghan Genocide,
manslaughter of 700 pakistanis at the hands of FBI & CIA & Dr Afia
Authorising Drone attacks to kill thousands of women, children in FATA
    NWFP National territory.
Collaborating with world criminals perpetrating Genocides and crimes
against humanity and war crimes, namely,

    Paul Wolfowitz
    Richard Perle
    Donald Rumsfeld
    Dick Cheney
    Walking Bush ( without shoes)
    Tony Blair
    Pervaiz Musharaff
    BB Nathanyaho
    Yahood Olmert
    Cippi levinits ( a female Israelian man-eater)
    ----------------------------
He should be equally, tried before Pakistani Tribunal for
    violating Pakistani constitution
violating Military oath ( be court Martialed)
    toppling elected genuine Govt. illegally.
Authorising Drone atacks killing thousands of innocent women children
selling away 700 Pak citizens and Dr Afia, killed her two kids.
Creating a corrupt and unconstitutional thuggery of NRO,
Laal Masjid massacres of innocents youth male and female !
Again ready to be baptized by Neocon's ashirvad !!

Gen(Retd) Pervaiz Musharraf be served International summons /warrants, be expedited to Pakistan by the British Government without delay, he be trialed in full custody, protected & provided all justice facilities including defence attoney !!

    orders be executed

hamare memory bohat short hai ....abhi aik saal hua hai ...us azaab ko gaye hua ....pervez musharraf is the worst leader for pakistan........along with asif ali ghaddari .......aik azab gaya to doosra azab aaya....pervez musharraf ne kya teer mar liya....killer of lal masjid students...those who says the musharraf is the visionary person are bastard...not at all....america ka phattoo....hamare mulk ko aik azaab mein daal dia ......
imran khan is the great leader....he will be the president of pakistan very soon inshallah!!!

  • Waqas Akhtar - 17 years ago

I think we should not keep on doing experiments like past. Every political party is doing fool with the Pakistani Nation. We will prefer the Army Chief to take over the Government. And he should make the constitution of the Pakistan from the zero that there will be no any democratic or political government in the future of Pakistan. The next Chief of Army Staff should take oath as the president of the country.

We pay warm regards to our brave Pakistan Army.

  • Waqas Akhtar - 17 years ago

According to my thought in the present time any Army Chief or Army Dictator knows better about governance, management, and leadership as comparing to any of the political leadership in this country. General Pervez Musharraf's time was one of the best developing era in the history of time. Every department of the government was developing day by day. The Education Sector, the Finance Sector, the Communication, Information Technology, The Transport System, the National Roads, The Defence System, Foreign Affairs, International Trade, the issue of Balochistan, Gawadar and all the other matters were working at a great efficiency. It was the Political leadership who misguided the nation for their own benefits. General Pervez Musharraf was a very good in making decisions in national, International, or any kind of issues. Today nation should know that all the political leadership including the opposition are not interesting in solving the problems of the Pakistani Nation. The difference between the ruling of a Dictator Pervez Musharraf and a Democratic Government of Mr. Asif Ali Zardari is that in the time of musharraf everything was excessively available in the market. The International investors were very happy to invest their money in pakistan. Pakistan was on the way to the developing countries. I would say that if i have a choice between democracy and dictatorship, whether it is Field Marshal Ayyub Khan, General Zia-ul-Haq, or General Pervez Musharraf i will strongly reject the democracy. I find the Army Governments more efficient, disciplined and more governed. I solute Pakistan Army for its contributions and sacrifices from the day one to the present day.

President and General Musharaf. was, is and Always will be in the hearts and minds of patriotic Pakistanis. He is a Diamond, and no matter where he is, he will Shine. There has been said a Lot of good and honest things about him, therefore I am not going to redundantly repeat them but rather endorse them From the bottom of my heart. To be honest, if our current politicians were wise enough and they cared about this country, they would have used Mr. Musharaf as the nation Spokes person, rather bad mouthing and humiliating him. But on the other hand I don’t blame them because after all you need a goldsmith, not an iron smith to appraise a Diamond.

  • Osama Qadri - 17 years ago

I recently conducted a survey in Karachi through my university to inqure into public opinion about whose Era was better in Paksitan. Believe me that 90% respondents endorsed Pervaz Musharraf Era as one of the best Era in Paskitan history.

also, it is completely a false perception that majority of Pakistanis hate Musharraf.... on streets, I donot find a single person who says we were unhappy in Muhsarraf Era and now we are happy and living better life. Every one in Pakistan is missing Musharraf

Musharraf made some mistakes but who dose not? everybody does mistakes but at least Musharraf's intentions were good for Pakistan not for himself.

I just hate Pakistani media and Pakistani politicians. Musharraf biggest mistake was allowing this so called free electronic media.. these anchors and media men are just scoundrels.

Musharraf shuld come back now.. we are just fed up of what is happing in our country.. we want Musharraf , his vision and his dedication to get back Pakistan on track..

Please come back dear Musharraf sir.. we all Pakistanis want you back...

  • Kiran - 17 years ago

    Hi all,
I just want to say that Musharraf is the right choice.. we have seen how media is doing one sided propaganda against Musharraf .. they are not just dragging Musharraf through the mud but also sovereignty of Pakistan by badmouthing a former president.

We the new generaton of Paskitan are smarter than wha they think about us and we will InshaAllah counter this soon.

I am so happy to see the results of this poll.. My prayers are always with Musharraf .. many Allah give keep him in his protection - Ameen

Jiiyeee Musharraf - Hazar baras jiiyeee

  • Qasim Butt - 17 years ago

Mr. Jehanzeb Khan, polldaddy is a legit third party application and no one can alter/modify the poll results. This poll is a slap on those peoples face who are just spreading the false sentiments of Pakistani people.

Please dont repeat the same false media propaganda that 90% Pakistanis hate Musharraf.. in real 90% Pakistanis love Musharraf because he gave them job oppertunites, business opportunities, cheap communication means, world cheapest Internet, world cheapest mobile phone call, world fastest growing economy.. no common man give a dam care about constitution, judges or even politicians.. they just worry about their jobs, businesses, security, and good way of living.. thats it... we dont fucking care about who makes constitution or who broke it.

If a democratic government is so corrupt and incompetent like we have right now, then Pakistan should always run in Military rule.

We dont want this fucking democracy. We want Musharraf back!!

  • Khalid Qureshi - 17 years ago

Only Musharraf could solve our problems.. we saw him solving our problems in 2002- 2006 .. his Era was the best era.. so many jobs, new industries, so much money in market, real estate was booming, corruption was low, foreign invest was so high..

Only Musharrraf and his vision can save Pakistan now.. Really good to see that he is wining the poll..

    Musharraf Zindabad!

  • Jehanzeb Khan - 17 years ago

I hate this website because the results do not show the actual sentiments of Pakistanis. Atleast 90 per cent Pakistanis hate Musharraf. His 9 years long rule was a complete failure and he did nothing at all for Pakistanis. He surrendered the whole Pakistan to USA on a telephone call from Colin Powell on the 9/11 night. He killed thousands of innocent of muslims male and female students in Lal Masjid with phosphorus bombs. He killed Bugti and other Balochi leaders. He was the one responsible for Kargil adventure. He was the one who repealed the Islamic Hudood Ordiance and promulgated an unislamic law.

He dismissed an elected Govt. in 1999 with the help of his some Generals. He dismissed CJ Chaudhry for no reason whatsoever.

He is a criminal and should be hanged to death.

  • Kamran - 17 years ago

Only Musharraf deserve to be President of Pakistan.

Jammaat E Islami is a terrorist organization created by Agencies. They have nothing to offer but to abandon relationship with USA.

Imran Khan is Jews agent and he is just trying to penetrate into the system so they could destabilize Pakistan and get rid of Pak nuclear assets before they attack Iran to complete the great game.

Abdual Qadeer Khan is just an idiot.. he talks without thinking.. he recently said to the press that Pakistan provided nuclear technology to Iran.. you guys should know that West is preparing to attack Iran soon so he is making breaking news and giving a reason to west to dismantle our nuke technology.

Wake up guys before its too late!!

I think we should give a chance to Mr. A.Q Khan to be a president and let Mr. Imran Khan to be the Prime Minister of Pakistan. This is why the political system of Pakistan is Parliamentary and not the presidential. I hope that Mr. Imran Khan as a Prime Minister can do 100 times better than current setup. He has all the abilities and fullfill all the requirements for prime minister ship.

  • arshad - 17 years ago

I think ppl hate jamaat just w/out any reason, just bc thy the them. we should give them a chance at least if musharaf does not come back I ll vote jamaat. I am sure thy will not be corrupted and thy will work witth ppl. thy never try to secure theiir seat and I m glad the bad thing(fazlurRehman) is not with them anymore so there iis noo reason we shouldn't vote for jamaat islami.

I just wonder why our nation is still sleeping, why we are selecting those, who never did ant htin for our great country, just look at zardari, every one , even kids know that he is the top corrupt man and enemey of pakitan, then why we selected him as president, shame on us.
iam not fevouring any one , but aleast we have to use our our own mind.
in the above list i will prefer Dr Abdul Qadeer khan, and Imran khan only.
Both of them are sincere to our country, the rest are just nothing,
Just look at nawaz shrif and zardari assests, yhey were have nothing before comming to politics, and now they have more assest then any one in pakistan, and maximum of their money/assests are in foriegn banks.
please, my country mates, love your country, and take a great care of it. The enemies have focused on us, lets be aware of them.
    Thanx for your time.

Clown, you know you are a clown! You are one of those people you only do criticize others and just sit and talk.. you cant see what good Musharraf did to the country and how hard it is to run that office.. you yourself cant manage 100 people and criticizing those who have tasks to manage millions of people

Just because of your type mentality we malign and discredit our own country to outside world and people laugh at us.

You guys should wake up and start seeing things differently otherwise we would always being played like this and at the end the common man will suffer.

  • Sameer - 17 years ago

This is all wrong.. why is ASIF ZARDARI in the list...?

  • Clown - 17 years ago

musharaf is the biggest clown himself. He never listen to anybody else but his western gods. I can't believe u guys like him that much. Of course he is better than zardari and nawaz sharif but what he did in agriculture and development anybody could have done more than that in 10 years and of course zardari is excluded from any development. Musharf is the first who sold the country though.

  • Aamir - 17 years ago

Is there any doubt left about the circus in town i.e. Sharifs, Zardaris, Maaulanas of all hues and colors, chaudhrys and Justice Chaudry? Musharraf stands out, stands tall and towers over these pygmies!

WE WANT MUSHARRAF BACK, BEFORE THESE CLOWNS RUN WHATEVER IS LEFT IN THIS COUNTRY TO THE GROUND!!!

@kaliya, Baluchistan problem was not started by Mushrraf but it is a 60 years old problem just beause of feudal and rigid balochi nawabs who dont care about their people.. they dont let education and modernization comes into Baluchistan because literate balochies will question the nawabi and sardi rule there and will demand democracy in the system.. in Musharraf era there has been record development happened in Baluchistan like coastal highways, Gwadar ports, Mirani and other dams, road and highway networks.. and this is they they feudal lords of Baluchistan do not want..
Baluchistan is integral part of Pakistan and will remain forever Inshallah

  • kaliya - 17 years ago

If musharaf would have stayed for a couple of more years, u wouldn't have seen Balochistan as a part of Pakistan. The current problem of balochistan was not started by ppp but it was ignited and started by musharaf.

  • Kully - 17 years ago

We respect Zaid sahab so much but it is not the time when he should come forward as presidential candidate.. he is doing a wonderful job by awaking Pakistani nation.. his role in politics should come soon but it should take the time required for the process so whole Pakistan accept his credibility and select him as a leader.. for the time being.. it is important that Musharraf come back in power and stabilize Pakistan thorough his great vision and best economical policies.. as soon as Mushrraf is back, the foreign investments and industrialization of Pakistan will begin again and it will give us more job opportunities and people of Pakistan will stand on their foot as they were almost before the so called lawyers movement begin in 2007.

Musharraf should come back as president ASAP and I truly believe he will give path to other leaders as well if they have better options then him... he is the only leader who have guts to sacrifice life for Pakistan.

dear pakistanis listen to Zaid Hamid on news 1 or aag channel. http://www.brasstacks.pk/. You will know who should be the president of Pakistan. We need somebody who fear Allah and Allah alone. All the persons listed in the poll fear u.s.a/Zionists/money masters way more then they fear Allah. Also all of them are slaves to their nufsani desires. They cannot rule themselves and so should not be ruling the muslim populace. Inshallah revolution will come. Pakistan and whole ummah's future is bright. Pakistan zindabad

To my knowledge of Pakistan political history, there is only one
Political party which represents full fledged genuine democracy, real one,
with educated, learned, disciplined workers & clean leaders with broadmindedness & frankness, patriotism, respect for others and equal
rights for women, minorities and opponents, the one and only
    QAZI SAHEB's party JAMAAT-E-ISLAMI PAKISTAN.

  • Faisal Wahab - 17 years ago

What Zia Started 30 years ago, Musharraf nailed the coffin in 2001. Pakistan as a nation never got going after Dec 1979 with the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. They r all corrupt except for Qadeer Khan who gave us some sort of image in this world. He was meted out the worst possible gratitude the rulers of this country could give him, Musharraf was hero of Kargil, the Americans made him a zero in the eyes of his own nation. Sorry Musharraf no vote for you. Musharraf believes on this proverb " Live a life like a jackal for 100 years, not the life of a lion for oneday". He should have taken Pakistan to great heights in 2001, but he chose that we should go for begging bowl.

There is great euphoria among Pakistani liberals over the presumed ‘return to democracy’. They are yet to discover Late Neo-colonialism. The manoeuvres against Musharraf bear uncanny resemblances to organised ‘people’s power’ the CIA unleashed during ‘colour revolutions’ and upheavals against Hugo Chavez.

Anyone who has followed the ‘colour revolutions’ that installed pro-American rulers in Georgia (Rose Revolution, 2003), Ukraine (Orange Revolution, 2004) and Kyrgyzstan (Tulip Revolution, 2005) could surely not have missed the tell tale signs.

The hapless liberals have yet to discover Late Neo-colonialism and its devious manoeuvres for regime change; they have in fact effectively legitimised them by opposing Musharraf. They are agonisingly unaware of the labyrinthine geo-politics and economic imperatives underlying the New Cold War. They are blissfully going along with the collaborationist leaders who are bartering away the country’s future for the proverbial pieces of silver. By Dr. Sachithanandam Sathananthan – 2007

Musharraf was removed by CIA... read this here:

The Lawyers’ Movement initially began as a results of the actions taken by General Pervez Musharraf on 9th March, 2007. Pervez Musharraf, after getting intelligence that Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry was conspiring with Nawaz Sharif to overthrow the government called for a meeting and asking him to resign or face “charges of misconduct”. The Chief Justice refused to resign and preferred to defend the charges. Within two months the movement took the path of Color Revolution, getting enormous funds from USA and other countries with the main aim of destabilizing Pakistan and forcing Parvez Musharraf out of office. The organization and publicity of the entire campaign is calculated to have cost around Rs. 30 billion. How much did this cost Pakistan? There is no work done, however, a good estimate would be around US$ 100 billion.

  • Ahmad Subhani - 17 years ago

Visit any TV channel or go through the print media, the hot topic under discussion is Pervez Musharraf’s trial for breaching the Constitution. Most vocal in this campaign is Mian Nawaz Sharif and his coterie. The pertinent question that comes to mind is, that it was not the first time that it has happened, quite a few dignitaries before him had also done the same. Why then he is singled out for retribution? Various platitudes have been put forward to justify this demand; yet the crux of the matter is that it is a simple case of personal vendetta mounted by Nawaz Sharif’s bruised ego against Pervez Musharraf who ousted him from power on October 12, 1999 when the plane bringing Musharraf from Sri Lanka was not allowed to land anywhere in Pakistan and plane’s crash was imminent since it had run short of fuel. However the tragedy was averted at the last moment by army’s intervention. This led to Musharraf taking over the reins of the Govt. They call it “coup”; in reality, it was a case of self-preservation or retaliation on the part of the wronged party (Musharraf). Had he not taken that step, Musharraf would have been eliminated from the scene, altogether.

Apart from above, certain other charges have also been levelled against Musharraf. Of these, Kargal war, Dr. Qadeer Khan’s case and participation in War on Terrorism have been dealt quite adequately by Musharraf in his speeches and statements and also in his memoirs (”In the Line of Fire”). I therefore need not touch said topics here. My considered view on the remaining important charges follows. Before proceeding further, I would like to affirm that those persons who know him from close quarters, would testify, that Musharraf is a truthful and straight forward man, therefore, there is no reason to doubt the veracity of events as described by him in his speeches/statements and memoirs.

In Lal Masjid’s case, action taken by the Govt. was unavoidable. Inmates of that Masjid, had repeatedly violated the law of the land through a series of illegal and immoral activities, thereby challenging the writ of the State. They were repeatedly warned to mend their ways, but to no avail. Besides creating serious law and order situation, their hooliganism was earning bad name for the country and it’s Govt., nationally and inter-nationally. Protracted negotiations carried out with the clerics of Lal Masjid proved futile owing to rigid and non- conciliatory attitude of the die- hard mullahs. Govt. had to take action as a last resort as no other option was left.

In chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry’s case, a reference was filed by the President with the Supreme Judicial Council involving C.J.’s misconduct concerning illegitimate favours doled out to his son. The reference was in order legally but the case was not properly handled. The lapse provided the politicized lawyers an opportunity to resort to strike and indulge in street agitation and boycott the courts. The reference in question was turned down by a bench of the Supreme Court, but they failed to deliver a detailed judgement in support of their ruling in the case. This queer and uncharitable attitude of the Court is incomprehensible. The lawyers’ movement was soon high jacked by the Opposition, spearheaded by Muslim League (Nawaz). The event led to politicization of the legal community including the superior judiciary.

Other important allegations leveled against Pervez Musharraf are: promulgation of PCO and NRO in November, 2007. Issuance of PCO was un-constitutional and was admitted so by the President himself and was, later on rescinded. In respect of NRO, according to press reports, it was issued as a result of understanding reached between President Musharraf and Benazir Bhutto; but latter’s sudden assassination, torpedoed the whole scheme. The funny thing about said NRO... read more here: http://pakalert.wordpress.com/2009/09/01/in-fairness-to-pervez-musharraf/

According to a report, dated SEP 9 – Former president Gen (R) Pervez Musharraf, will be meeting President Barack Obama in the third week of October. During his lecture tour of USA,the former military ruler would also meet former US secretary of state Colin Powell, Senator John Kerry, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, US special representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan Richard Holbrook and heads of various US think tanks and lawmakers.

Musharraf’s 40-day visit to the United States begins on September 14 during which the former president shall be paid a whopping fee of $300,000 per lecture to various American think tanks and other institutions, in 17 American States.

“Only former US president Bill Clinton is being paid as much for delivering a lecture and nobody else is being paid more than this amount,”.

Musharraf would deliver lectures on Pakistan’s national security, nuclear program, future of Afghanistan, impact of the Afghan situation on Pakistan and role of Pakistan’s Army in the war against terrorism..

While Pres Musharraf and overseas Pakistanis are busy building Pakistan’s image, it is fairly common to find, politicians, writers and Anchors speaking, writing and expressing their displeasure regarding the invitations. Some have enviously questioned the substantial fees paid to Pres Musharraf.

Rather than being envious it would serve Pakistan’s interest better if these critics move forward and deliver similar lectures abroad. Whether they would be invited, is another question, leave alone getting a fraction of the $300, 000, being paid to Gen Musharraf, per lecture.

They tend to forget that those inviting him are mostly Western think tanks and Institutions which reward merit and do not send invitations unless one qualifies.

To the best of my memory Benazir Bhutto was the only other leader of Pakistan who was considered worthy of being invited on similar circuits..

Those who seem to be most upset include,“ Nawaz Sharif , Jhagra, Abida Hussain, Imran Khan, Hamid Gul, Mirza Aslam Beg, Zafar Ali Shah, Ahsan Iqbal, Aitizaz Ahsan, Mujeeb Shami, pseudo analysts,TV Anchors and some other insignificant persons.

Instead of riding the ‘ Hate Musharraf Bandwagon’ launched by those implicated in the IJI scandal of receiving bribes, would it not be more dignified to promote Pakistan.

Despite the best efforts of these politicians, writers and Anchors, to pull him down in Pakistan, he is respected and continues to be invited abroad.

At a time when Pres Musharraf is promoting Pakistan, we are collectively enjoying, a one point agenda,’ Get Musharraf’.

What image are we projecting? Are we a nation of street fighters, feudal democrats or simply intolerant.

Such people can show their love for the people of Pakistan more effectively, if they make an effort to be invited to lecture circuits abroad so as to further improve Pakistan’s image.

Musharraf still leads the race with 83% polls

    SHR Jahfery

Islamabad. Sep 12. Despite his retirement as President of Pakistan Musharraf is still favoured and respected by the enlightened segment of Pakistani society. An interesting and latest development in this regard initiated by Pakistan Alert while arranging on line opinion polls, “Who should be the President of Pakistan,” here Saturday, Musharraf while giving an unexpected surprise to the viewers got83% votes in two hours polling while others could not go beyond 15% a highest number polled in favour of Imran Khan.
Only 2% vote casted in favour of sitting President of Pakistan Asif Zardari, wheras Mian Nawaz Sharif was anxiously awaiting for online vote. Imran was able to get only 14% votes as Qazi HussainAhmed could also manage to score only 2 % whereas Molana Fazalur-Rehman could not even a single vote.
Though such opinion polls are not criteria for any change in the formation of the Government but these opinions definitely depict the general trend of the public and predict the opinion of the masses. All those leading some think tanks and intellectuals derived their opinion and predict the future tone and behavior of the political set up and the country.
In this particular case More than a year has elapsed that Musharraf left the stage and still enjoying the official protocol in all the countries including the immediate neighboring countries. He being state forward soldier of the Armed forces is a soft spoken and deliver impressive speeches unlike others who hide and camouflage themselves according to the environment always speak diplomatically. He is never surrounded by the sloganeers after his retirement and speaks wholeheartedly to the media as and when asked. He is quite a wise soldier who is just going through a transitory period to meet the constitutional obligations. Sooner he completes the mandatory restriction on his political movement he will come back and once again it is believed that he would internet the scattered segments of Pakistan Muslim League and it is expected that he may head that group and play very positive active role in the national politics. All of his opponents within and outside do not want him back in Pakistan so that they could fully enjoy the liberal attitude of the establishment freely to store their energy for the next elections.
