i've always liked the hatchbacks simply because of its more sporty look and feel... but what i love more (especially now being a family guy) are the station wagons..... which is almost non-existent... I am seriously considering a recon evo IX recon wagon.... sadly, the subaru is always my favorite... the forrestor got too tame... over time..

the hatchback looks better. The sedan is falling into the trap of the Korean styling, looking like the Kia, Hyundai and the likes. Somehow, Impreza has lost its masculinity, unlike the older versions.

I also see some American flavors in it. Please return to the older styling. It has gone soft and mellow.

    if its impreza..
for sure its suppose to be a sedan (macho hansome brutal and other manly words)
but with this new styling.. I cant avoid to chose the hatcback..
    that its more sportier..
the sedan looks like "small" with the styling n cues..
like more "tame" n "beautiful" (more to girly words)

I like the "eagle eye" model more..

but whatever styling subaru throw into their impreza..
I still LOVE the sound of that boxer..

The Subaru's identity/image have always been the Sedan, similar to what Porsche 911 'froggy' was. Styling wise Sedan has better balance and proportion compared to hatchback, which is sportier though. I have always felt that Subaru owners are the 'quiet macho' type rather than 'loud boy racer' type. So the Sedan fits this image.

Malaysian in my opinion is still lacking the sense of car styling. Many are liking the sedan as it has virtually more boot space and somewhat look more proportional compared to hatchback. But in terms of aerodynamics, hatchback is better. Modern hatchbacks even has a large boot space comparable to sedans, some are even bigger. So I choose the hatchback version.

Malaysian guys will prefer more to sedan because of it's charming and handsome style with gorgeous big sport rims looking.

i aggree with tech boy.. but i prefer to choose sedan.

Well, it will be nice if there are hatch and sedan version, so that anyone can buy their Impreza according to their respective body style choices.

Definitely the hatchback. It can easily out-maneuver sedans in tight situations. Just look at how Ken Block drove the hatchback, simply fantastic!
The WRX is a rally-bred car and the hatchback look suits it better than the sedan which look clumsy. Therefore the hatchback it is for me, come rain or shine! CIAO!

Test drove a Impreza WRX hatchback (2.5l Turbo) in Singapore. I would have to say that it is an impressive drive. There is only the 2.0l for the sedan version. But it just doesn't pop, in terms of performance, as well as looks. Even the interior seems spacier and obviously sportier in the hothatch version.

Preferred more on sedan..Looking for previous model more on hatchback powerful but interior so small...looking like Hyundai Atoz 1.1...

isn't the hatch wrx already available? and what sedan? did i miss a subaru launch?

The hatchback definitely...the sedan is horrible, it looks like a Hyundai.

I would prefer the hatchback due to the attractive styling and the aerodynamics of the vehicle.
The hatchback has lesser drag compared to a sedan when travelling at high speeds. Many Malaysian prefer a sedan due to the extra storage space, however drivers who wants a sportier car will certainly go for a HOT hatch!!
