First rule of computer security: learn how to secure your network and it won't matter which OS you run. Any OS is vulnerable if the network isn't secured properly. Windows 7 is amazing and I have already upgraded.

First rule of computer security: Use nothing from Microsoft. Not
Internet Explorer, not Microsoft Word (TeX produces better output,
and is free), and especially not any version of Windows.
