Also, let me just add, the reason United States treat Pakistan with contempt is becuase we let them treat us, as such. We let them treat as such because we do not have collective self worth. They have national interest to defend and we have personal or institutional interest to look after.

Politics and especially foreign and international politics is driven by national interests. In international politics, there are no permenant friends and/or foes.
