    So you have decided to vote Sarath Fonseka, haven’t you? It’s all right. I understand. I am not here to sling mud at Sarath Fonseka. I will never ask or beg you to vote Mahinda. You don’t have to. I just want you to read this to the end. I respect Sarath Fonseka, as much as you do. In fact I personally want to vote him, but I can’t. I’ll tell you why. Please read till the end. You have decided to vote Sarath Fonseka for one of these three reasons
    1) You are voting Sarath Fonseka simply because your parents keep voting UNP for last 50 years, and you are also inherently a UNP supporter.
    2) Or, you are voting Sarath Fonseka because you believe in JVP politics, and your leader Somawansa Amarasinghe wants you to vote Sarath Fonseka this time.
    3) If not for these two reasons, you are voting Sarath Fonseka simply because you personally feels that’s the right thing to do. You are not influenced by either the UNP or the JVP
    For what ever the reason you are voting Sarath Fonseka, you have already created mental justifications for your decision. It’s the human nature. Once you make a decision, you tend to rationalize your decision. Let me guess some of your rationalizations and ask you few questions back. You have to give answers to your own self, for these questions.
    1. Sarath Fonseka was the true leader of our war victory against LTTE. He would have done it even without Mahinda as the president.
    Can he? Is SF the sole contributor to the war victory? For sure, Mahinda wasn’t the “sole contributor”. But, Mahinda was the “leader” who managed all aspects of this war; not just a one frontier. The military war in the air (with Roshan Gunathilake), military war in the sea (with Karannagoda) and the military war on land (with Fonseka). How about the political war? Keeping the pressure put by opposition and international community away from the military leaders? Did Sarath Fonseka played any role in these other aspects, than the military war on the ground? Ask from your own common sense. Don’t let your political biasness to fool you.
    2. Ok, war victory was just a one thing which Mahinda did right. Did he do anything else for this country? Just take a look at these pictures, and ask from your own common sense whether these were not important to you. Don’t let your political biasness to fool you. Simply question your common sense.
    3. Mahinda didn’t do anything for the business sector. Ok, if you believe in this as a reason for voting SF, tell me what you are expecting SF to do good for the business community? What guarantee you have? Remember his economic policy is going to be influenced both by UNP and JVP. Can you expect any “positive sum” in a combination of JVP and UNP economic policies? Isn’t ending the war itself is a good thing done for the business community? Isn’t building the roads a good thing for business?
    4. Mahinda taxed the country a lot. Without taxing a country, how can you provide free education, free healthcare, more super highways, more flyovers, ending a 30 year old war? Are you expecting under SF he will remove all these taxes? Then how can he continue to provide us free education, free healthcare, and continue the development projects?
    Lord Buddha said, “those who always find faults with others on minor concerns, despite the larger achievements they have made; will always keep on burning inside by their own flames of selfishness”. Stop being selfish. Open your mind. Put away your political jealousy. Think about the truth standing right in front of your eyes. The truth is, Mahinda did a great deal of good to this country which JR, Premadasa or Chandrika failed to do. Do you want to turn this country back by handing it over to a person who doesn’t even know how to speak to another human being? A person who get aggravated so quickly?
    Tell me…. Are you ready to vote for a man who is spreading hatred on every stage that he speaks? Are you ready to vote for a person who has already threatening to get revenge the

    When I visited this site 2 or 3 days ago, both candidate had percentages 50% & 50%. But SF was leading around 150 votes. That was my second visit to Tharunaya Poll.

    When I first visited to the site may be one month ago result was 53% for MR & 47% for SF. Today I read few comments from our friends & come to know that votes for SF was going up while votes for MR is going down finally reaching SF 53% & MR 47%.

    When I visited the site yesterday, I felt that it was hacked or deliberately change the results by Tharunaya.com. Originally, in the results page, SF was in the second raw & MR was in first raw. But yesterday MR second & SF top. It is very silly that the voting page shows MR first & SF second but result page other way round. Now it was corrected & no one can see....

    In my opinion, Tharunaya.com has done this deliberately. If not they could have corrected this. Anyway everybody know this types of internet polls are just for fun only. This does not provide any sense as one person can vote multiple votes. But changing the names of candidate means Tharunaya.com can not tolerate the results or Tharunaya.com has received some threaten calls or something to change the results. Anyway this will tarnish your image dear Tharunaya.com.......

    Friends, do not much care about this poll. They can do anything they want. Sri Lanks's destiny will solve on 26th. If people want to go back, they can go back. At least university boys came out from the dark. They realized what's going on. As a person who lived in overseas for years, I know how powerful is LTTE outside SL. If we do not get a leader like Mahinda, people will learn about their mistake soon.

    Fonseka, Mangala, Ranil, JVP, TNA, Hakeem is a good combination to destroy this country within a very short period of time. I was listening to Fonseka's behavior when he was in Army. I cannot believe it. One of the Army officers talked about it. How Fonseka treated his drivers and cooks. According to that Army officer, some nights Fonseka drank until 2a.m. He needed all kinds of meat and things when he decided to eat. It is unbelievable. You can listen to it from yesterday ITN news. Now Fonseka's followers will say it is a made up story. If it is made up he can take legal actions right away because it damages his reputation. He won't take legal actions. Same like Sunday Times. He did not take any legal actions against to that paper. Because he knows he said that.

    People called Mahinda a king. But Mahinda is always a humble man. We know him for 40 years. He is always like this. A real Sri Lankan man. We are fortunate to have a leader like him. I really like and admire "Fidel Castro". His health care is one of the best health care in the world. He is a real hero. I saw similarities between Mahinda and Fidel Castro. But our enemies do not let Mahinda to do anything. Some people ask why Mahinda decided to go for this election.

    UNP and JVP secretly worked together to make problems. They tried to do everything to destroy the economy. JVP did not agree they were with UNP. If Mahinda did not go for this election, JVP would still say they have no relationship with UNP. Now people know. I respect Wijeveera. But not Somawansa. I respect Ranil more than Somawansa. Ranil shows his true colors. People know him. But Somawansa deceives people. I saw a one meeting he asked people" Is Jokiya good?" According to him, Jokiya is the combination of Fonseka, UNP,TNA, Mangala, Hakeem and JVP. it's actually a joke because few years ago he was crying on ITN and blaming UNP government for killing his leader and his supporters. I still smell the boys bodies who covered with tires. But this man has already forgotten everything. He is trying to take the country back to that situation.

    Fonseka still says he won the war. But you can listen to Ranil's foreign TV interview from yesterday ITN news. Ranil said Fonseka just followed government orders. He said government said what to do and government gave the time period. Fonseka just followed the orders.

    They always say different things. Fonseka change his words like the weather. Somawansa has a right word. "Jokiya" because they all are jokers. Remember Anura Kumara(JVP) said "Mahinda mahaththayage jaya niyathay".

    I think there is something wrong in this poll, when I check this on 19/01/2010 morning total vota around 58,400 and yesterday I was unable to access this site due to some error and now it has increased till 90368. this is unbelievable... 35% increased within a day.... I have been monitoring the trend of voting from the beginning of the month ( I have daily screen shots) I noticed that SF was getting more votes than MR and last three days difference was 1727 (16/01),1718(17/01),1094(18/01). what is the reason that you have changed the order of candidates??? Have you changed only the names and links are same or????? (when we vote MR it will count as vote for SF and when we vote for SF it will count as vote for MR)????????????????????????

    those who can't still realized president Rajapakse's victory, see the gathering crowd for each and every meeting which was addressed by president Mahinda Rajapakse. most of SF supporters think that SF will get 45% 50%. but, gathering crowd is a strong sample on final statistics. therefore, MR have advenced his votes during the campagn by 5%-10%. so the final result between MR and SF is 65%, 70% - 30%,35%. that mean MR will get 65-70% and SF will get 30-35%.
    Tharunaya mislead figures artifishaly. This is Sri Lanka, This is not Uganda.

    We can understand what this site is doing. They try to change peoples mantallaty showing MR's popularity reducing. But if you see this site from the begining you can understand that the votes are artificially done because everyday it was same % votes were gone to both side. I'm not supporting MR or SF but this site election results created artificially thats the thing I have to say. We will see 27th what will happen.

So what I believe in this crucial period even this time We will have the power of Dhamma and Our Country will sail very safely in this troubled water. Because Presidential Candidate Mahinda is with full of Anger and making corruption robbery money and doing illegal investments with dangerous drug dealer Iywan. And also sending murder terrorist group to south to kill our important sinhalese persons. Further mahinda is providing corrupted funds to the Ltte Karuna and Pillayan terrorist group. Mahinda is creating another Terrorist in our mother land. So I do not believe Dhamma will allow such a person to have power .My prediction is Stupid, Crazy, Greedy mahinda will not get more than 11.05% of votes.

    As any other election in Sri Lanka, the Presidential election too is getting uglier by the day.
    However I am getting confused trying to keep a track of the trends and swings, not because it’s getting uglier but because some of the outlandish claims made by the ruling party.
    The first one is that if the main opponent comes to power that he will allow the defeated LTTE to rise up again, when everyone in Sri Lanka knows that the President barely made to the winning line last time even, only thanks to LTTE’s refusal to allow Tamils to cast their votes freely.
    The rumours were rife then as to why the LTTE has acted in that fashion to assure his victory and to compound that suspicion, a photograph appeared in the Media not so long ago, the grooming scion was having a meeting with a well known LTTE Diaspora member in one of the western countries that he and his cronies despise so much only in public.
    Another rumour now permeates is the way, very large sums of money recovered from one of the notorious LTTE leader now in captivity is being used during the election campaigns.
    If the western capitalist societies are as decadent as they publically claimed then why many including his own clan do seek permanent residencies or send their children have their education to those countries.
    The other claim is that the Sri Lankan economy is presently doing far better than any of the western capitalists’ economies. If our economy is far sounder than the western economies then why did we go begging to IMF for a massive loan? Has anyone compared the GDP per capita income of those countries with our?
    I personally know how many of my countrymen are being stopped daily trying to board a flight with forged travel documents from this part of the world to one of the so-called decadent countries which are economically performing much lower than us presently, according to their claims.
    If their comparisons are true and correct then the trend should have been the other way around where we should see many westerners clamouring to come to Sri Lanka to seek refuge, but unfortunately we are yet to witness something of that nature.
    As the saying goes, they may be able to fool some people all the time but not all the people all the time.
    The Sri Lankan people are much wiser than they think and yearning now for a change and that too also not just a change for the sake of change but a complete overhauling of the existing political dynastic system where a few think that key to public office is one of their birthrights.

Obey to kings rules and regulation if king want to kill them they will ready to die. and sacrifice they sons and daughters for kings and his PLC pleasure. So after so many years some of people genetic back to they ancestors genetic. This portion of people earn and give to king and his family's prosperity. And fight for kings rights. Carry him for any destination.Do what ever he ask to do. So they not believe they are slaves for King. But they believe they don't don't have feature, even for they next generation.     those who can't still realized president Rajapakse's victory, see the gathering crowd for each and every meeting which was addressed by president Mahinda Rajapakse. most of SF supporters think that SF will get 45% 50%. but, gathering crowd is a strong sample on final statistics. therefore, MR have advenced his votes during the campagn by 5%-10%. so the final result between MR and SF is 65%, 70% - 30%,35%. that mean MR will get 65-70% and SF will get 30-35%.

    Start Roshan, if you see my earliest comments when this poll started, I have already pictured this. I knew what they are doing. Do not worry, as you said people are educated in SL.

    Fonseka was in the army for >30 years. He did nothing. Previous politicians did nothing. We have suffered >30 years. I was a child when this crazy war started. and I saw it my own eyes. It was a part of our fault too. UNP government did not take an immediate action to stop 83 July incident. It was done by uneducated, uncivilized small number of people but LTTE pictured it wrongly to the world. That's the main reason LTTE got this support from Western.

    We have seen how much pressure came to Mahinda. Mahinda is a clever and wise man. He handled things very carefully and beautifully. On the other hand Gotabhaya handled all the forces. He is a clever man.

    I respect Fonseka as a clever army officer. But who gave him that job? Remember what Fonseka's supporters said about Fonseka those days. They said Fonseka is not suitable for even a salvation army. But Gotabhaya trusted him.

    See what he is saying about Mahinda and Gotabhaya today. He has not even have human values. "Kelehi Guna". See what words he is using today. He is greedy about the power. He can give anything to get the power.

    Major Gen. Densil Kobbekaduwa could have won this war if he got this political support. This is a real hero. He will stay in our minds forever. But Fonseka, not anymore. He even gave names of the army officers who killed LTTE leaders. Where is his army values?

    Yesterday evening total votes were around 50000 and comments 1450, but now total votes increased upto 80000 (artificially) and comments increased upto 1577 only. its very clear that votes changed artificially in favour to SF. This is not a country like Uganda. Most of Sri Lankan people are educated and our literacy rate (people who can read and write) is more than 95%.

    further, see below for my comments on yesterday evening.

    Here, we can see, around 400 coments against President Mahinda Rajapakse, and more than 1000 coments against Gen. Sarath Fonseka. therefore, the ratio between Mahinda and Fonseka is approximately 70% to 30%. But, here mislead the reality in Tharunaya vote statistics as it's reflects the ratio as 51% to 49%. From the biginning votes increased gradually, but recently changed suddenly and artificially. In next week ratio would be 48% to 52% which is artificial ratio. That's wrong, because that's not reality. President mahinda will get more than 60% but Fonseka will get less than 40% that's the reality. in otherwords, out of 14000000 (14 million), 2000000 (2 million) live in abroad, 80% will vote in this election. that mean, around 10000000 (10 million) people will vote in this election. President Rajapakse will get more than 6000000 (6 Million), Sarath fonseka will get less than 4000000 (4 Million). further, i will prove in details with more statistics in future.

    At the beginning SF stand on UNP, JVP, Hakeem, Mano, and TNA votes. so, their supporters try to add their previous votes togeter since they don't have enough knowledge to analyse the situation changes in political field.     1000 of coments due to MR supportes have enough things and enough time to spend for him and they like to work for him. less coments for SF due to less supporters and they don't like to spend time for him as they don't have much things to write for him. so, they don't work for him. they expect an instant president. so, some of SF's internet supporters have given up. they don't have answers for above discloses. Just click the mouse for voting and now they are suffering on wrong decision.     Bulath, I like Mahinda because he was the only politician who saved our country. How long we suffered ? More than 30 years. I was in overseas during the war days so I saw the international pressure. I saw what LTTE supporters did to stop the from my own eyes.

    Nobody would stay in that pressure but Mahinda did. He did not bend his back to anybody. Those days western people actually called us "Second Cuba". Mahinda has all the qualities to become a strong leader.

    Who is Fonseka? He does not even know how to talk? Who gave him that postion? Nobody (except) would even know about Fonseka if Mahinda did not give him that position. I think that was the biggest mistake Mahinda did in his political life.

    You said we destroy our country. Yeah! right. We all know TNA love Sri Lanka so much. They love Sinhalese. Why you talk about Karuna now? Karuna has already gave up his Elam. But TNA did not give up their dream to have Elam. TNA still support LTTE. Don't you know that? Do not think like a frog in a well. The world is bigger than you think. Do you know what activities going on in Europe, North America and other countries?

    Why all the good people (who earned reputation) with Mahinda today? We do not agree with corruptions. But compare to previous leaders Mahinda is still good. He is still clean. Mahinda would not do anything to destroy this country. That's for sure. That's why we support Mahinda from our hearts.

    We love our country. You are the people who is trying to destroy this country. Tell me one thing that Mahinda did to destroy our country. I do not even like to go to other Sinhalese websites now because many of them are operated by Mangala, JVP and LTTE supporters.

    Your parents only cry for 200. We are still crying for >60000. And your leader did blame Gotabhaya for killing LTTE leadership "He killed the LTTE leaders who brought White flags".
