"Hoosiers" portrayed not only the midwest enthusiasm for high school basketball in the early 1950's but Gene Hackman's role as a coach who instilled the need for his players to apply discipline in learning the game was done quite well.
The picture was very good in bringing these factors to the screen. The game has changed but the fundamentals must be learned at a young age for those who wish to continue to play or coach the game long after their initial introduction to the game.
